St. Roch Fine Oysters & Bar
Food took over an hour to arrive and our food was extremely salty.
The bbq shrimp is amazing!
Air conditioning blasted my seat while every other position at table did not. Way too cold in my position. Booth opposite oyster menu. With menu behind you, righthand booth, far seat. I miss the corncake griddele w fried oysters and syrup.
Not good. Very slow service. Expensive for small portions and it took an hour to get two apps
Such plump juicy oysters...heaven on the half shell! Love that all the special oysters came from NC!
Best NC oysters we've ever had. Service was very attentive. Location good.
Fantastic experience. Read my review on Yelp!
The flounder special was outstanding! My son had the homemade pasta and blue crab, excellent.
Great food and drinks. Love the dollar oysters especially! Where else can you eat 2 dozen and not have a hole in your wallet the size of NC!
Wonderful brunch. Best fried shrimp I have ever had, ever. My partner got oysters done three ways and he was in heaven. This was my first visit to St Roch. Love this place!
We came here to begin the weekend celebration of my husband’s birthday. What a fabulous experience! Our waitress, Matilda, was highly attentive and gave us excellent suggestions. We started with a cocktail called Evangeline—refreshing and softly sweet. Then we ordered the roasted oysters and crawfish hush puppies. Both appetizers were delicious and just enough.
For entrees we had the steak frites and BBQ shrimp. The steak, fries and shrimp were equally delicious, but it was the sauces that stole the show! The garlic aoili for the fries, the chimichurri on the steak and whatever that magical creole roux was in the BBQ shrimp was phenomenal!! We were beyond satisfied. As if that wasn’t enough they complimented us a slice of German chocolate cake for his birthday. Perfectly moist and delicious!
Without question we will be back!
I would recommend St. Roch to friends with the following understanding...the beignets are a must and I am not truly a bread lover. The bbq & pimento cheese roasted oysters were excellent! And I only ate fried oysters. The one negative is that they do not sell regular coke or other soda drinks, diet or likewise. My husband does not drink alcohol and had to settle for just water. Not a big problem, but just a need to know before you go. I drink water every time.
Food is creative and ingredients are fresh! Staff was very accommodating .
Delicious as always! Oh those beignets with caramel sauce, heavenly....light...melt in your mouth. Great place for oysters, raw or cooked! Waitress
New the right ones we wanted too.
All good, except for the noise level due to lack of noise insulation.
Wonderful food, this was an incredible night. The blue crabs were AMAZING!
Always love the vibe here—not to mention the food and cocktails
We had an excellent time at St. Roch. Food and service were great. I did not realize I liked oysters until I tried them here. Both on the half shell, baked with flavored compound butters and fried. Also the fried saltines were out of this world. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious and the service was great! I would definitely recommend.
Awesome oysters and great service,
One of my newest go-to favorites in downtown Raleigh. I love that there's a great selection of NC oysters, love the $1 oyster specials, and the drinks are terrific. My husband doesn't eat shellfish, but the fish dishes are terrific.
The food was excellent and out of the ordinary. I recommend this restaurant highly.
As ever, great meal with friends . Opened with huge, ice cold oysters and cocktails. From there ate mostly from the small plates and vegetables. Tried to decline, but the table prevailed ( and they were right); finished with both the desert offerings. Will go there again and again.
Service was slow. Oysters were good, shrimp was good, crab legs were tiny and very little taste, fish was very bad and bar offering was limited. I will not go there again.
St. Roch is amazing! Everything from the cocktails, oysters and entrees. I was disappointed that the German Chocolate Cake wasn’t on the menu (seasonal dessert) but the cream cheese cake didn’t disappoint. What was disappointing was Open Table sucks and sent our reservation over to St. Roch as 2 when the confirmation was for 4 people. We were able to get in but it took a canceled reservation. And a reservation is a must unless you want to sit at the bar.
Small crowd but service was awful so it was not a matter of being rushed. Food quite good.
Highly recommend the curry baked oysters. They were AMAZING! Dinner took a while to get out- but was worth the wait.
Awesome meal. Probably the best Shrimp Po Boy I’ve ever had. Even better than in New Orleans. The fries were absolutely delicious. Perfectly spiced. Very friendly staff and accommodated my special requests. Highly recommended.
Was great with the exception of the AC being on the blink. Very hot.
Really good! Probably would have gone with a few small plates instead of a meal.
The quality of the food was good but the size of the oysters served in the barbecued oysters were very small and not a good value for the price.
We didn't try any oysters; the other food was good but not outstanding; service was pleasant and prompt.
Oysters were great, PoBoy sandwich just ok, had better. Service was great, just was too expensive for what we got. Paying $3 each for oysters that come from down the road is ridiculous. Don't think we will go back but if you have the $$ and like oysters then I would recommend.
Food was great, the bar was disappointing.
Delicious food! Friendly staff! Beautiful ambiance!
Fantastic experience - the staff were not only friendly and helpful, but they made our experience a memorable one. Excellent selection of oysters and seafood. The whole menu was thoughtful, seasonal, and delicious. Will happily return.
Great spot. Oysters were stellar, wait staff terrific, food awesome and plentiful.
Great food. A bit on the pricy side for the quantity but overall delicious.
Always looking for good oysters and St. Roch has topped them all for this area. We tried the raw, roasted and fried oysters, all of which we would definitely eat again! The staff was phenomenal.
What I had was flavorful. The service was attentive. The menu isn't huge so check in advance. No separate menu for kids.
