St. John's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We live in New York and visit Chattanooga twice a year. We have eaten in famous restaurants all over the country, and have also been to great places in Europe. We are foodies at heart. St. John’s may be our favorite restaurant on the planet! It’s not just the food, which is always superb (inventive without being cute or fussy, locally sourced, expertly prepared), but because the dining experience is perfect in every way. From the moment you walk in the door till the moment you leave, you encounter nothing but excellence. The hosts, busboys, wait staff, bartenders are all friendly, professional, and accommodating without hovering. I have a food allergy, and they never make me feel like I’m being a bother. The solution is always “chef will make it work for you.” Love this place! (PS, still waiting for the recipe for roasted beets and Brussels sprouts salad, which is to die for!)
Outstanding meal, the food is seasonal and has never disappointed. It can be loud (can you call the sounds of good times loud?). Disclosure, I like the food enough to have nominated/voted the chef for a James Beard award. I would stop in for just the fantastic bread and a glass of wine from the exceptionally reasonably priced extensive list. Strongly suggest listening to the staff for wine recommendations as they have an eclectic and changing selection.
As always, food was excellent. This place is hands down one of the best if not the best fine dining in town. You will not be disappointed.
Our server was excellent as we had him before, however, he needed some help because we did have to wait awhile to get refreshed drinks and our time between dishes was long.
We happened to be in Chattanooga for business and this place was chosen for dinner. The restaurant was fabulous. The preparations were topped notch. My associate had antelope and I had grouper. Both were perfection. The menu was seasonal and fresh. The wine selection was impressive as well. Definitely put this in your list.
Went to St. John's for our wedding anniversary. Incredible Service and Dining. If I had to choose a last meal before leaving this world I would choose St. John's. My wife and I would have tried everything on the menu if our stomachs could hold it. Yes, it was that good. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks again for a wonderful evening St. John's!
St. John's was a delightful experience as we celebrated my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. "Happy Anniversary" at the top of the menu was an added treat. They felt like royalty and enjoyed the exquisite food. The staff paid attention to every detail and made it a memorable occasion. Thank you.
Our reception was fantastic even though we were 15 minutes early for our reservation.
Our Server, Brian, did a great job explaining some of the finer points of the menu and the process.
We enjoyed our meals and found both selections to be flavorful with generous portions.
One of the best meals I have had. The menu was creative, we had Nickajack cheese with Sorghum covered pecans - oh my, it was delicious. I had the antelope, which was like a tender steak and my husband had the Wagyu beef steak and it was perfect! The price was expensive but the meal did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.
The only negative feedback was that our table wasn't ready at our reservation time. We had a show to attend so we were rushed through dinner to be able to leave on time. Ended up being about 25 minutes past our reservation time but the food was amazing and our server was very nice as well. It was our first time here and it was excellent!
The restaurant itself was nice and the atmosphere what great. Went with my wife and 12 year old daughter. Only complaint was with the selection of food. I have mild heart disease so pretty much stick with fish. No salmon or tuna options. Had to go with the Grouper which was good, just not what I would have liked to have considering my condition. None of us really liked the deserts. For how much the dinner was, and all of the high ratings, just expected more.
