Good trip once again. I did want to sit upstairs and made this request. The restaurant tried very hard to accommodate, which I appreciated. However we ended up downstairs. This would probably be okay if they kept the draft from the door from coming into the restaurant. Otherwise everything was great.
Food was amazing. Drinks were as well. Service was great. Highly recommend
Fantastic service and beautifully prepared meals. It was my first visit to this location. I will certainly return.
Our waiter was outstanding with his knowledge of every dish. Food was good, not great. I had the aged NY strip and fellow employee had the Grouper and both felt it was good not great. The beet salad was the best we’ve ever had
The food was ok, but nothing great. The server was nice, but only came to the table to take the order, to bring the food nd to bring the bill. It took too long to take the dirty plates away. Service was not at the level expected.
decent restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Foodie place, lots of unusual ingredients. Apple hand pies were quite good.
Beautiful restaurant, the amtelope was amazing.
Noise level very low. Great to be able to have a conversation at dinner. Try the roasted beets appetizer. Awesome!
Lovely menu choices overall, but definitely enjoyed the seasonal and daily options. This was the best NY Strip I have ever had, so well trimmed and presented. Tons of autumn flavors on the plate. The handcrafted cocktails were so good I had at least 4. As an out-of-town visitors, we were definitely impressed and will be back whenever are in town. The service was personal and never left us wanting for anything.
First visit! Was fantastic. Our waiter was so attentive and yet calm and was not intrusive. We loved the food! Will be back!
Exceptional service, food presentation, and wine menu. 5 start excellence!
St. John's is a foodie's delight - from the seasonal hand crafted cocktails to the dessert and everything in between. It's all carefully curated. The food to share is delicious - don't miss the pimiento cheese and shrimp crackers. The appetizers were amazing - pumpkin soup with lobster; smokey scallops, beef tartare; warm beet salad with local blue cheese. I could have eaten one of everything. The mains were also a hit with the table - we had the salmon with squash curry, the filet with roasted/mashed cauliflower, the red snapper from the autumn seasonal menu and the New York Strip. Each dish tasted as good as it looked.
The service and the meal was wonderful. Always outstanding!
The service was outstanding! Good was great!
Just about the top restaurant in Chattanooga! Our original table for two was a bit exposed to a draft from the door, but they gladly moved us to another table! Romantic! Great menu! Duck breast & leg confit superb! A really fine “Date Night” venue. They seem to do it all well.
We had one of great best meals ever here. Your service is phenomenal, every bite delectable, and the space just lovely! We can't wait to come back!
Excellent dinner, tremendous service, apple sorbet was incredible!
The restaurant had a romantic feel ,candlelight dinner our waiter was very helpful the food was scrumptious.
The food was amazing!!! We will definitely be back!
Food - stellar. Service - good, but our server was not at all warm and friendly. He was nice but robotic. I guess he just wanted to do his job and go home. Hope he’s not representative of the entire restaurant.
Best restaurant in Chattanooga! Get the venison!! The pimento and shrimp app was to die for and the wine delicious!
Took my wife for our anniversary this weekend. The service was outstanding from the time we arrived to the time we left. They printed our own menus for us wishing us a happy anniversary and even included a free dessert. The food was top notch as always. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to celebrate.
Outstanding service from our server Chase. Beautifully prepared dishes of pumpkin soup w/lobster, warm beet salad and venison. Excellent wine list selections. Will return for more.
I'll go back again! It's as good as...or better in some ways, than the Stephen Starr restaurants I have visited in Philadelphia. I can't find much to complain about....so I'll offer an observation that was no issue to me, but it may be for some. If you prefer a darker, more 'candle lit' atmosphere, make your reservations for later in the evening as there are many windows in the front.
Absolutely exceptional meal. I've eaten at several three Michelin star restaurants, and I'd rate this as on par with those meals. Service wasn't nearly as sophisticated, but friendly and appropriate for Chattanooga. Highly recommended. Highlights were the ravioli with pork dish, the seared snapper, the buratta, and all paired wonderfully with the semi-dry Finger Lakes riesling. Pumpkin roll for dessert was also a nice finish, but just really good while everything else was superb.
Exceeded expectations!! Great evening!!
THE restaurant in Chattanooga for fine dining; absolutely delicious dishes, polished ambience, and well trained staff make this a real treat for a romantic evening out. It was our first time dining at St. John's, but we are already planning our next visit. It's not often that one finds such exquisite pairings at such a great price! Do not miss out on the Pork Belly Croque Madame! Worth every dime!
Wagyu Steak Zabuton never disappoints!
Excellent for special occasions. Very friendly and helpful wait staff!
Absolutely outstanding service, food, and atmosphere. Our server was courteous and did an immaculate job of keeping our drinks full and our table clean. I would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anyone and everyone looking for an upscale, high-class meal in downtown Chattanooga.
The butternut squash soup with lobster was delicious!
The food and the service was excellent. Our waiter was Joe and he and the other wait staff showed just the right amount of attentiveness. Joe made some spot on recommendations about the menu and his suggestions were delicious. We will definitely visit again.
St Johns appetizers are always the best, however, we have been let down by their main course meals the last couple times I’ve been there.
A classy restaurant and complemented our brief one night stay together with the impressive art district.
The food was well prepared and presented.
Service was friendly but centred on size of gratuity and speed of clearing plates between courses, on one occasion when I’d barely swallowed my last mouthful.
Food was excellent as well as the service..
Excellent food & service! We are foodies & will definitely return when in the area.
Our Anniversary Dinner could not have been better. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive; the food was incredible. Thank you for a great evening out.
St. John's is an excellent restaurant. The steak was cooked to perfection! It was a lovely evening!
St John’s had been an anniversary tradition for many years. My wife and I love this place. Incredible dishes and wonderful service.
Sitting at the bar and having dinner is a great experience since everything is done with such care.
