The flavors were incredible! Just plain delicious. Highly recommend!
Our anniversary dinner could not have been better. Our best meal yet there.
Absolutely awesome place with fabulous service and magnificent food. Both my wife and I had the Snapper and it was extraordinary!
This place is absolutely the best! We enjoyed our anniversary dinner with friends before going to a concert at the Tivilo Theater.
Best food ever! Great wait staff-- first class from the moment you enter!
Warm greeting. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Food preparation was perfect, quality excellent, portion size adequate. Wonderful evening.
Without a doubt the finest meal we have ever had. Our server was knowledgeable, personable, and his recommendations were spot on for us. Perfect ambiance for a very romantic dinner. Would we recommend St. John's to our friends...that would be an emphatic Yes! Well done St. John's Place, well done indeed.
The food was outstanding. The only problem we had, since we had to dine early because of our reservation, was the fading sunset through the sky lights that was almost blinding. Next time we'll make a reservation for the balcony.
It's rather expensive and make sure you have a reservation, especially if you have a group. The food is excellent and they will accommodate special dietary needs.
A hidden gem in Choo Choo Town
20 year anniversary. We were dissatisfied compared to previous years. We have spent more than half our 20 years always at the same window except one year. The only good was the window seat was secured on short notice. We unfortunately will stop the tradition after the past two years. Last year was a foul mouth patron beside us, I actually had to remind that his dinner conversation was inappropriate for mixed company and dinner. This year a very loud woman in the bar changed the ambiance we were hoping for. Thank you for asking.
Wonderful meal. Well prepared and presented. The combination of the sides and meat were perfect.
St. John's impresses at every turn. From the incredible food, to the wonderfully curated wine list, to the impeccable service... you would be hard pressed to find a better dining experience anywhere in Chattanooga. Thank you for making my wife's birthday special, St. John's!
There is nothing on the menu that I wouldn’t recommend. The service and food was excellent!
outstanding meal. every course was great. Service was top notch. Not the least expensive place to dine, but overall a wonderful dining experience.
Definitely our favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service -- what else can you ask for? Well worth the price, in our opinion.
Went for birthday date.
Server was bery helpful with appropriate recommendations and suggestions. Food was delicious Drinks were good a bit pricey
Food made up for it. Fabulous food with a reasonable price tag.
I will recommend.
Happy Anniversary greeted us on our menu. What a nice touch. Jenny, our waitress, was a true pleasure to work with. The food was incredibly good, but we knew it would be!!
My only criticism would be the seating against the wall. It sat so deeply that It felt like the table was too high for me. I don’t think I was alone. The gentleman sitting off to my right looked the same. Just an aesthetic comment.
St Johns (and the affiliated restaurant adjacent) have been favorites for a long time. There are many multi-course menu choices whether you prefer to eat heartily or more lightly. Food and drink quality is exceptional.
I was blown away by the food at this place - especially the pork belly first course and the wagu beef second course! Top notch!
I have high standards for food- St. John's has the best food for 100 miles, hands down. Great place to bring foodies. Excellent artistry. Truly a joyful experience.
The best restaurant in Chattanooga!
Exceptional as always!
We eat at St. John's every time we pass thru Chattanooga.
We have never been disappointed!
Dependably superb! St. John's has a talented young woman chef and an equally talented young woman sommelier. The creativity and presentation of the food always delights, and the wine list has unique surprises as well as well-known standards in a wide range of price points. The well-trained wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. Perfect evening!
As it has been for many years, St. John's again lived up to its reputation as Chattanooga's best option for fine dining. There really in no contest.
The staff was warm and welcoming. We had the halibut and it was perfectly prepared. The Creme Brulee was great for dessert. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, making conversation easy.
The restaurant was very nicely set up with white table linen and wineglasses on the table. The seats were very comfortable for dining and the waiting staff were exceptional. There is an extensive wine list which runs from 30 dollars up to many hundreds - but there are many good value wines on their list. The menu has some excellent starters - we chose crayfish, and the mains covered a range from seafood, through steak to venison. While this restaurant is very popular for birthdays and other special occasions we found it to have a very relaxed atmosphere. This is some of the best dining we have had in our month long visit to America.
Just the most wonderful restaurant in Chattanooga and a must do!
Not to be missed a gem!!
Awesome food and service... The Beef Tartare was fantastis as were the scallops. A bit noisy for my taste but the food and service far outweighed the noise level... Perhaps it is quieter upstairs as we were seated on the main floor... We will definitely return and try some other things on the menu as it changes frequently...
We ordered beef brisket, brussel sprout and beet salads, carrot souffle, millionaire's coffee, all topped with a bottle of bubbly. Remarkable smokey flavors in the brisket and salads, and the beef was perfectly pink and tender- all outstanding, with an unusual presentation, particularly with the beet salad. (Must Try!) The only dish we do NOT recommend was our dessert, the carrot souffle, which was far from a souffle, although it does visually resemble one. It was heavy and lacked flavor- a disappointment. Dessert selection needs improvement and upgrading for this caliber of dining. Would love to see a REAL chocolate souffle- so hard to find anymore; yet, I can order superb ones frozen by mail from Chesapeak Bay (800-282-2722) that I toss in the oven for 25 minutes, and are 5 Stars everytime, without fail. Why can't you find these on fine dining menus anymore? But despite this criticism, this is a wonderful dining experience, and the exceptional service from experienced and polished Joe, our waiter, was a highlight as well. We loved our table for 2 by the window upstairs overlooking the street, the white linen tablecloths (also hard to find anymore), and the tasteful background music (live piano would be preferred, but it was still romantic). Hurry and go, because Joe will be leaving by the end of the year to pursue a whole new career in engineering. His finesse will be sorely missed- he really knows the art of pouring champagne! :)
Everything was lovely. The service was exceptional. The wine was delicious as was the food. Very favorably impressed with attention to detail. Worth every penny.
We have eaten at St. John’s multiple times over the years. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is always relaxed, and the wait staff is always attentive but not overbearing. I only wish we done there every week!
Great surprise birthday for my husband. They even printed Happy Birthday on our menus at the table. The food was delicious and the service was beyond wonderful, all the employees were super friendly and helpful.
Excellent food, service and presentation with seasonal highlight in mind. Our kids loved mac & cheese ( of course with lobster and asparagus and authentic mushroom) and strawberry rhubarb tart. Their homemade ginger soda was also hit. Our waiter was so good with kids as well. We loved everything and we will be back.
We ALWAYS love dining at this restaurant! It is one of our favorite Chattanooga spots. Always a pleasure!
The food was delicious and the service was great! Anxiously anticipating an opportunity to dine there again.
Our visit was a date night. We always like to eat here when we are in Chattanooga. Joe was our waiter and you could tell he liked his job. Always had a smile, made excellent recommendations and was there at the right times.
We had drinks and conversation for a while then ordered the courses one at a time. A leisurely night and fun.
We shared the Dungeness crab and pimento cheese crackers then had the Sautéed Sea Scallops. Both were wonderful. Our entrees were Duck Confit and the 45 day dry aged new York strip. My goodness, both were awesome. The duck was moist and flavorful and the steak was tender and cooked perfectly medium rare.
St. John's will always be on our list to come to.
Just the most wonderful experience
The food is so wonderful I can’t wait to go back
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga... Food and service are consistently great!
A little pricey but worth it!
Outstanding! Better than some of the top restaurants in NYC!
Great service and excellent food.
