   We booked a table for 7 people at 10.30am, noting it was for breakfast. When we checked into the hotel, we were told the restaurant stops serving breakfast at 10.25 and lunch service doesn't start until 12 and we shouldn't have been able to book at that time. . However, they readily agreed to extend service for us and the food was fine. Service inexperienced.

   Very poor service, waitress lacked any professional skills, long wait for service, main meal was delicious, was informed long wait for dessert if we wanted to order one as chef had 24 afternoon teas to serve, this whilst there were four staff standing about chatting, one of them surely could cut four slices of cheesecake? Asked a young girl for the bill, she went to the till then walked off without a word, finally went to the bar to pay, duty manager informed me young lady was new, reported to manager about our experience, he apologised and took my number to call me, still waiting for call, we had high hopes for St Giles house as other people rave about it, we understand it may have been a busy day, but restaurant where we sat was not full, service really let the poor chef down, who's food was delicious

   Booked a lunch to meet up with my son for his Birthday, really nice meal. Food excellent & very good value. Have been before, will certainly go again & would recommend, if you like good food, with a relaxed pleasant atmosphere with classic décor'.

   We were welcomed at reception and directed to the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated in the 1920s Art Deco style. Our waitress took us to our table. The restaurant was quite. We were given a menu but my wife’s menu only had breakfast choices in side. Waitress came and asked us if we would like a drink. No shiraz available so my wife ordered a merlot. Menu very limited. We ordered steak with fries and salad. We waited for 20minutes and the steaks arrived. They were beautifully cooked. A portobello mushroom accompanied the fries, vine tomatoes and a salad. Really tasty. I then had a crème brûlée to finish with coffee. The food was very well done but needed more choice on the menu.

   We had a lovely time. The food was well presented and tasted wonderful, staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely eat hear again.

   We'd eaten at St Giles before, and this felt a very different experience. The menu pitches itself more as "bar meals" than a full restaurant experience, and it does feel more like that. I did stand waiting to be noticed at the entrance for about 5 minutes. Then thankfully my wife realised I must be there as she was already at the table! Wine menu was reasonably priced, and the Rioja reserva we chose was fruity and tasty. My steak was pretty well cooked and tasty. My wife's surf and turf was not quite right - no choice taken on how the steak was cooked, and the lobster tail was overcooked. Also had to remind our server that chips had been promised with that surf and turf as they didn't arrive. Very quiet. Only one group in the bar when we arrived for an early table. Service was unusual but did the job. With other great choices in Norwich I'm not sure wed go back. A shame as we have great memories of fabulous meals in the previous version of this restaurant.

   A very nice dining experience. Ewan the resteraunt manger was very pleasant and helpful. He has some great ideas for the future of the restaurant and we hope that comes through for him. The food was very good, and so was the wine. Overall a very nice experience.

    Cooked breakfast was good, buffet part ok.. Not really a warm welcome and service ok !
