Great neighborhood restaurant. Too bad it was the last night of operation.
St. Clouds is closing. We went on their final night. While I would love to recommend it, it’s too late. You’ve missed it!
Great for brunch! I love this little neighborhood spot.
Great place for weekend brunch or evening dinner out.
Food was great and we sat in the bar area. It was very quiet and nice.
The wait staff was attentive and the food delicious. We had a beet salad, lamb stew, pork tenderloin with pasta and apple crisp ala mode for dessert. All great!
We stumbled onto St. Clouds while browsing thru Open Table and it was the highlight of the last month. A fun neighborhood in Seattle that I have not spent much time in. Fun location, liked the raised booth we had next to kitchen. could see all the great things coming out of the kitchen before we ordered. Will definitely come back here again.
Unfortunately the service was very poor. It took 15 min for us to be even be recognized by the wait staff. I had to finally get up and ask to be waited on. I ordered the scallop entre which was terrible. The scallops were under cooked (gray in color), chewy, and presented floating in a sea of creamy, soupy polenta. I ate one scallop and left the rest. I just couldn't get it down. The seasonings used did not complement either the scallops or the polenta. It was all a hodgepodge of different, unappealing flavors and textures.
My guest, however, seemed to enjoy the grilled chicken he ordered.
Meatloaf was dry, shrimp was good, lamb burger good, not the best I’ve had. Drinks are good sized, back patio is great.
I love St. Clouds because they have always been so supportive of the neighborhood and other social issues and it's a great place that welcomes everyone and is cozy.
Although their menu is great, I think the food preparation/taste has gone downhill since one of the owners left. I hope they get back to the great food they had before. I was really disappointed.
Had a really nice experience for a birthday brunch on their backyard patio. Food was excellent, service was friendly, enjoyed the atmosphere. Would go back again.
waited 45 min before being served. Scallops were indistinguishable from the sauce. Caesar salad was dry and charged $3 for 3 anchovies. was not visited by our waitress during the whole meal.
We were underwhelmed across the board. Nothing was particularly good or terribly bad. Menu and food were okay, nothing too exciting or worth noting. Patio area are was kind of disappointing. It would have been helpful to know that we were going to get music/ more noise mid-meal. I would probably not go again
Brunch with Family for a Birthday
Awesome food, lovely quiet atmosphere in an old neighborhood with a lot of character. Michael and his crew have done a great job at maintaining the old St. Clouds vibe but have also made a lot of improvements to the menu, food and have even added an outdoor patio! Bravo!
Beautiful outdoor patio. Food was good but nothing to rave about. Service was very slow and uncoordinated which marred the experience.
What a lovely find! It may be off the beaten path for many, but well worth the excursion. Lovely patio out back ideal for this time of year. And you'd never know it because you can't tell from the street. Excellent, understated, friendly service, courses well-timed and quite delicious food for a reasonable price. Although I don't live in the neighborhood, this may become my new neighborhood favorite.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try st. Clouds. We made reservations and showed up about 10 minutes before. Our table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar to get a drink. No one helped us for over 15 minutes so i got up and grabbed some menus. Finally we were acknowledged and we ordered drinks and an appetizer. Food came quick but our drinks took another 15 minutes. Not to hard to just pour a glass of wine? During our hour wait at the bar for our reserved table we saw the bus boy dip his braided friendship bracelet into a variety of ready to go out dishes (gross). After feeling forgotten I asked the host about our seats and we were promptly seated outside. Once again we were forgotten. During our 2 hours there my husband and I only each got 1 drink as no one was helping us. The food was decent but it was ruined by rats running by us outside and overall feeling angry that we couldn't get an order in. I suppose if you want to eat here I suggest eating before coming so by the time your food comes you will hungry not hangry. It's a disappointment that my 1 year anniversary is overshadowed by a bad experience.
Most recent visit to St. Cloud's was with a friend, on a rather busy evening We wished to sit and talk for quite a long time and appreciated not being bothered by our server. However, other friends who arrived just as we were leaving and sat at another outside table, told me later that their service was "terrible," and they had to wait an unacceptably long time for everything. Perhaps someone had called in sick. If not, they need to work on their staffing schedule.
Fabulous food, service, drinks, and ambience. Great for all ages (without ever feeling like kids are simply tolerated or talked-down-to). As a result, my daughter proclaimed that St. Clouds is her favorite restaurant in the whole world. My 14 year-old son loves it too. Lovely place.
food was super good and servers were so nice! would totes go again.
I’ve lived in Seattle for a decade now, and St. Clouds has THE best pancakes I can find.
Really long inexplicable delay for food, lunch menu was supposed to be available at noon according to the menu but we were told it wasn't even though it was 12:15. They kindly comped us a round of drinks at least!
Would not recommend. It took 20 minutes to get water and then 45 minutes to receive our food after we were finally able to place our order. Food was cold when it arrived.
We didn’t see our server after we placed our order until she dropped the check off at the end. She did comp our mimosa and Bloody Mary for having to wait, but it seemed a bit of a pitiful response based on the complete lack of checking in after taking our order.
An apology for the delay prior to our food arriving and perhaps a piece of coffee cake to assuage our toddlers hunger during the ridiculous wait would have gone a lot further.
Too bad, was really looking forward to dining at what seems to be a neighborhood favorite.
Have been here often as we live in the neighborhood, and have never been disappointed! Even with the fairly recent change in ownership, the food is consistently good, the service always friendly and not intrusive and the ambiance casual and happy. Excellent bar!
The owner greeted us and was very friendly. The food was delicious and we greatly appreciated being seated in an area that was less noisy so that we could hear each other. Overall, it was a fine eating experience.
This wasn’t our first visit to St Cloud, nor our last (we’ll be there tonight and Sunday night, as well). We were especially charmed by the waitress from Romania, who made it a particularly memorable occasion.
Wish the Cobb salad was still on the menu
Only reason I was a returning customer...bummer
Nice location in Madrona. Friendly service. Outdoor seating in back is very pleasant especially on a sunny day.
Casual ambience with good food. Service cheerful but forgetful. Vegetarian options not as extensive as last time we ate there.
We went to St Clouds to hear some musicians and check out the changes with the new owners. Unfortunately there was a table of loud people who were not there for the music. It would have been more appropriate for them to be seated in a different area of the restaurant. Service and food were great.
Very warm and friendly environment. It was fun but not too fancy or overwhelming. We went for mothers day and had a great time!
Mother’s Day brunch
I went here for Mother’s Day with my family and they seated us in the beautiful back patio surrounded by flowers and sunshine. The service was great and the special brunch menu was delicious! They offered a variety of sides to go with our meals, including vegetarian sausage, which was perfect for my needs. I would definitely recommend St. Clouds for breakfast or brunch and although we didn’t make it to dessert, it looked like their selections were great too!
I recently heard that St Clouds is closing. I’m so sad.
Top notch food with attentive wait staff. Truly a neighborhood gem.
Traditional neighborhood staple setting and menu, but with modern feel. Good for casual, homey meal with a twist.
The garlic fries chicken was amazing! I wasn’t a big fan of the mashed potatoes that accompanied it, however. Small selection of draft beers. Would be interested in coming here for brunch!
The restaurant is split in two, with a quieter side suitable to conversation and a livelier side, which is rare and nice. (Outdoor seating too, in warmer weather.) The menu isn't extensive, but has a good variety of options. French fries are excellent! Caesar Salad and burger were very good. Smoked Chicken Fettuccine was a bit bland for my taste.
I took my family here while visiting me in Madrona. We loved everything. I live up the street and pass by St. Clouds 2-3X per day but this was my first time and I'll be back regularly. Nice job.
