This midtown all-season rooftop bar on the 22nd floor of Archer Hotel New York — with the Empire State Building as its central focal point — boasts a quintessential New York experience with craft cocktails and savory, shareable bites.

Enamored with nightlife of another era, Spyglass is inspired by “Rear Window” and the curiosity of its lead, Jimmy Stewart. Patrons are voyeurs to the city below, while the terrace’s classic viewfinder aesthetically draws cues from the film’s elegance and style.

Spyglass’ multiple spaces and seasonal outdoor terraces make it an intimate and timeless venue for private events or an evening with friends, glimpsing the action on the streets below.

Had a 9:00 p.m. reservation on a Friday night. When we arrived we were told the bar was closed for a private event. Then we were shuffled to a back room with a view of a dark alley. No apologies extended. Needless to say we did not stay and would not recommend anyone bother to reserve a spot here.

Upon arrival we were told the reservation granted access ro the facility, although it was first come first serve. So my reservation did not guarantee a chair. The cocktails were bad. I couldn’t finish my drink because it was warm and poorly mixed. Poor service we kept having to ask for things that they forgot to bring in our order. The view is nice but not worth it.

too expensive, beer was not cold enough, chips portion too small for 10 dollars and space so reduce, difficult to move or leave jackets out.

Do not try to book a reservation via open table. They do not take reservations. First come first served. Overall great view of the Empire State Building. Overall small environment holding 20 people if even that many. Drinks and appetizers pricy yet good.

Great view of the Empire State building. We were there when it was cold, so didn't stay out long but if was warm, would have enjoyed being outside and seeing the view. I wouldn't suggest going for the food, it's really for the ambiance, view, and drinks.
