The food at Spur was exceptional. I loved the salmon canapé and the Wagyu sirloin was phenomenal. It was pretty fancy to be called a gastro pub and it was really tight, however, I would highly reccomend this place. The quality of the food and preparation was outstanding for the price.

We went to Spur with a group of 8 - each of us had a different price range we were interested in, and we were happy that everyone had an amazing meal regardless of how much they wanted to spend. The service was very attentive, and they were sensitive to the fact that we had a show to run to after we ate. We will definitely return.

Picture a long, narrow room, half of one side taken up by the bar, half of the other taken up by communal tables. It was not full when we were there and it was very pleasant: a quiet place for intimate conversation. The food was excellently prepared: the chicken liver terrine was sinfully rich and good; all the other dishes showed real care in their design and in their preparation. The portions tend to the small; each item is a small plate for one or a couple of bites if more than one are sharing. Prices are fair for the quality they deliver, but enough plates to make a really filling meal becomes an expensive meal. Service was attentive and helpful with information about the dishes.

We chose Spur Gastropub, as it was a "must try" on so many Seattle restaurant lists. We were not disappointed. A foodie heaven and wonderful for close friends who want to enjoy conversation. The food is primarily for shaing, with about one or two bites per dish, per person, for a group of four. Small portions, but incredible and surprising flavors. We had a few "pickier eaters" and they loved it all (especially dessert, which was beyond amazing.) Each dish is beautifully crafted and prepared. And like fine artwork it is also a little more pricey. If you can appreciate it, you will find it well worth it. Expert servers/bartenders/mixologists, who seem to know what you would like, even if you are unsure. We had an absolutely wonderful time.

We had the tasting menu with matching cocktails. The matching was excellent. The best food I've ever had in a restaurant and I have been almost everywhere in Seattle and in many excellent restaurants worldwide. This was my third time in Spur, but this was better than before. So, it might have had something to do with our mood, or the palettes, which do not get exposed to too many great flavors in the winter... We'd been eating turkey leftovers for a week (great turkey, though), and the enhancement of the Spur's dishes with touches of fresh jellies and compressed fruits perfectly complementing the main ingredients may have been part of the reason why my mouth felt like the taste buds doubled in number. Outstanding. Going back!

The service, table, location was real nice. The food was good but not exciting. Looking at the exotic items on their menu I was excited and expected some bold new or uniquely combined flavors but it really didn't happen. We had the pork jowls, wagu, chicory salad maybe I wimped out by not ordering the even more exotic items.

I was visiting Seattle from San Francisco and staying downtown. I found Spur on UrbanSpoon and noticed good reviews, so headed the four blocks that way. It was Friday night, and the restaurant was full but didn't feel crowded. The ambience is amazing, and the staff are incredibly attentive. I sat at the bar and was personally engaged with the bartender(s). And the food!!! It's beautiful and delicious. The salmon crostini is a must-try, as well as their beet salad and any one of their amazing desserts. They also have an incredible cocktail/wine/beer list. I will be going back to Spur!
