Overpriced, slow service, salty food, awkward seating arrangement.
We went for brunch on a beautiful Sunday. The outdoor dining space was beautiful and felt safe with excellent spacing and the staff was very well masked and cautious about approaching us. There were four of us and there was a prix fixe menu for brunch at $70.00 per person. We ordered a total of five drinks 4 mimosas and a Bloody Mary along with 4 diet cokes. The food was lovely and portions tiny but very delicious and satisfying. Then the bill came and it was $503.00 with the 25% included tip! I know that this is a prestigious and lovely restaurant but that seemed a shocking amount to pay for a brunch that did not include a bottle of wine. I am well aware that restaurants are hurting and we need to support them but this still seems VERY expensive ......
Fantastic meal! Staff and ambience were amazing, highly recommend. Go during the week if you want the burger! Brunch only on weekends.
All of the above!!!
Service was impeccable, as it always is. The outdoor space was warm and sunny (I had lunch); there was plenty of space between tables. The food was excellent, as always. I had two appetizers: veloute and pasta. Then I had the salmon as an entree and the chocolate torte as dessert. I would prefer dinner at Spruce, but it's a prix fixe menu and I prefer the a la carte options at lunch.
Great food and impeccable service. Looking forward to dining here again.
Great food, good ambiance, good staff, good social distancing.
Our meal was fantastic. It was so nice to be outside. 5): space feels safe and tables are spread nicely. Order the burger and fry the special pasta.
Such a lovely setting outside - but being your coat as it is chilly.
We always enjoy an early Valentine’s Day dinner and this did not disappoint. Kudos to Spruce staff!
Celebrating being able to eat outside again!!! Love Spruce for all things, especially how well they have adapt
Ted to outdoor dining.
Price fix menu, the food and service were fantastic. The outdoor dining area was wonderful with heat lamps. We were celebrating our daughter’s birthday.
A good time was had by all!
Food was delicious as always and the outdoor dining space was warm, cozy, and classy!
Excellent. Good social distancing!
Great outdoor seating; stellar service.
Great for birthday!
Wonderful meal as always.
Disappointing experience. Duck was very dry without flavor.
best service in the city- incredible wine selection.
Absolutely incredible meal and experience. Do not hesitate to book a dinner here, I forgot we were even in a pandemic it was so seamless and the ambiance was wonderful. The heat lamps are powerful I didn't even need a jacket at night in January.
The food was amazing, the parklet sophisticated and festive. We felt safe and well-served.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside next to a heater. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious.
The food, service and ambiance was fantastic for brunch!
Some of the best food in SF! Incredible flavors and beautiful presentation. Not to be missed!
Spruce is one of the finest restaurants in San Francisco. Spruce opened in 2007, and the restaurant is impeccable. Service is extraordinary. Wine list and cellar unparallelled, and while the service is present, it is never overbearing. Extremely professionally trained staff, incredible chef, menus and comfort. The bar area is lovely. Wonderful atmosphere.
Because of the pandemic, they are offering outdoor dining, take out and delivery. The outdoor dining continues to showcase the delicious food and wine and impeccable service.
Dining indoors was like watching the perfect onstage performance.
With shutdowns in our future, this is a restaurant to return to, and support. They train and treat their employees with dignity and grace.
Do take out and delivery. When they offer outdoor dining, book a reservation, and tip generously for their staff.
The Bacchus Management Group is among the finest.
Any restaurant in their group, has the same fine qualities: The Village Pub in Woodside, Shelby's in Atherton, The Village Bakery and Cafe in Woodside, among others.
By far the best food experience I have ever had. The service was excellent. Everyone was professional, courteous, and charming. I was a little bit cold as we sat outside, and they offered to bring out another heater for me. Each element of each dish was prepared to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and inviting, despite being outside. They even sent us home with some extra treats from the chef. I would recommend Spruce to anyone and I am sure to return.
The food was outstanding and the service was above a beyond. Amazing, keep up the good work. I will be back.
Fantastic setting for a date night! Food was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable about everything on the menu!
COVID safe outdoor dining. We had the fxed price menu and caviar. Wines were their upscale red and white. Service could definitely be improved for a michelin starred restaurant. Attention to detail not as much as I am used to at other michelin starred restaurants. Their fixed price menu was reasonable but not out of this world. I had the extra 15 USD foie gras. It was nice, but the pain d'epices makes it almost too rich, would have liked perhaps 2 or 3 choices with it ( brioche, canape , etx ) All in all good choice, reasonable price to value
Dinner was incredible! Highly recommend listening to what your waiter recommends. Staff was super friendly and made our birthday celebration very special.
Great evening! First course was outstanding and entree was great. Service was perfect and everyone was friendly yet very professional. Highly recommend it! It is the best of fine dining in time of Covid!
Delicious food, great service!
It was nice and warm, considering that the seating outside due to COVID.
It was elegant and beautiful outdoor set.
Our reservation was early in the evening. When we checked in with the hostess, there were plenty of seating available. She tried to seat us at the worst possible table with no heaters and also at the entrance of the restaurant where there was a lot of foot traffic. We asked to be seated elsewhere and were accommodated. The bread service was the best part of the meal. The first course was excellent and flavorful. The main course was an obscene amount of food that was not properly plated. The taste was excellent but was out of sync with fine dining. Service was below average and as 20% gratuity is already added, there was no incentive to be attentive I guess. The dessert was plated very nicely, the taste was ok. All in all a subpar experience for a Michelin star fine dining restaurant. The outdoor seating area was nice except for a few bad tables that they should consider eliminating. I would have paid a higher amount if the presentation and service would have been better. There was no optional wine pairing nor did our waiter offer any suggestions for choosing the wine. I would have expected a better enthusiasm during the pandemic to attract customers to the restaurant.
It was excellent , we had a great dinner
Thanks again, my girlfriend had a wonderful birthday 🥳
Food and drinks were great. Very extensive wine list with seasonal cocktails. The menu is brief, with mainly light options which made it great for a business lunch. The staff was very accommodating. Will be returning.
Pre fixe menu was superb
The gnocchi, duck, steak were amazing as well as the cheese cake. Excellent service
I can bring my kid ,that’s good.
It was perfect loved eating outside- like it better than the decor inside
