Fancy fine dining, San Francisco style. Bring your elders.
As always, spruce is near perfection.. Very pricey, or I would go more often.
get together with old friends who are foodies so was worth the price of the meal. excellent and inventive dishes
best wine service and menu choices!!! I will always return for a meal.
Although expensive, it was great value for the service and food. Waitstaff was excellent.
Our food was delicious but the service was fairly uneven. The appetizers came out right away but there was a large gap before our entrees arrived. Perhaps its unfair but I expect outstanding service at a restaurant of this caliber.
Really amazing service from start to finish. Spruce allows its guests to have a truly awesome dining experience - excellent food, attentive but not overbearing service, and beautiful ambience.
Lovely interior in a quiet residential neighborhood. The place was hopping when we arrived, around 7:30 pm. We were led to our table, a good table in a small recess towards the back of the dining area. Next to us was a table with two middle aged women who were well into their first bottle of wine and were feeling no pain. As the evening progressed, they got louder and louder and the waiter (also our waiter) kept adding to the noise by maintaining lengthy conversations with the couple at the top of his lungs. Either the women, the waiter or all three had to be hard of hearing. The food was good, although not exceptional. The wines were also pleasant, although a bit pricy. Service was good, although the noise was annoying.
Wonderful Anniversary dinner!
Wonderful lunch if you're in the mood to splurge. My sister had the prix fixe with wine pairing - loved every bite/sip. i had the duck, best i've had. even the waldorf salad was delicious.
This was my first experience at Spruce, and it was simply delightful. My guest recommended it because it's close to her office and has delicious menu. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Spruce is worth the splurge for a special gathering!
Beautiful, quiet space with high ceilings . Great place for a business meeting or a private catch-up with a friend. Amazing sommelier.
We ordered the chef’s lunch menu, since we thought it offered the best value. We were both disappointed with the entree. The pasta was very oily and the prawns were over cooked and sticky???
The service was exceptionally slow!!
We found our experience was sub- standard and would not be returning any time soon!!!
A nice meal with nice wines. The food was very well prepared and the sommeliers have exceptional wine knowledge and recommended two beautiful bottles. Overall it’s a very good restaurant - but not sure it’s quite worth the price tag.
The food, atmosphere and service were excellent! Worth every dollar spent! Thank you for making my best friend’s birthday dinner amazing!
Limited brunch menu, but the service and food was outstanding.
Omelet was cold, flavorless. Slice of Brie placed on top was not warm, melted. Cinammon roll was dry and hard—day old and stale. Waited 20 minutes for coffee latte. Have enjoyed spectacular meals there in the past. So incredibly disappointed.
Make sure you get the brioche beignets with the vanilla. To die for!
Very cool ambiance, menu limited. Service a bit snooty. Expensive for the type of food
The staff was attentive, kind, knowledgeable and very friendly. The restaurant was spotless and very organized with wonderful finishing. Very detail oriented. Lots of local organic sources tasty food! The cauliflower soup was amazing! The salmon and Halibut both to die for! The Brussels sprouts were quite good but not quite excellent. They offer an amazing wine list and tea selections too.
Beautiful meal. Exquisite service. Expensive, but worth every penny.
Easter Brunch was lovely. Service impeccable
Spruce always gets it right. I was seated at my favorite table (how do they know?) and received outstanding service with surprise bites from the kitchen. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and highlighted fresh spring produce. Well done!
Having visited from London and enjoyed many super restaurants around Europe and the USA we were so impressed with Spruce. Excellent service, and high quality food. Will definitely return and will recommend friends and family to dine there.
Really amazing. We had high expectation and were not disappointed. Really nice touch the card and decorated plate for our anniversary. Thanks!!!
The service was outstanding
Nice room and service but overpriced. Food was over-engineered, the simple ingredients for each plate were overwhelmed which diminished the overall taste.
We always have a great dining experience at Spruce!
Great service, food was mediocre considering the prices, I had the fish which was bland and a little dry and my girlfriend had the duck which was adequate but nothing stellar. The soup appetizer was the standout dish, excellent squash soup.
Menu that is sufficient and not overly ambitious. Excellent food, imaginatively prepared, beautifully presented. Extensive, selective wine list.
For a family of foodies, Tuesday night’s dinner was a Top 10 (maybe 5) ever. Steak was rated #1 of a lifetime by two gourmet carnivores. Service was fantastic. Wine list over the top. High expectations were totally exceeded.
Food was lovely, service exceptional. They had a sitting in the adjacent library room which was extremely comfortable and quiet. This was for my dad’s 91st birthday so the ambience was appreciated. Always a little pricey but very nice special occasion restaurant.
Our server was beyond amazing. From the food to the drinks to the ambience, we loved every aspect of Spruce!
Our lunch on Sunday was lovely. Food was excellent and service and attention was perfect. My friend has a dog and he joined us outside while we ate. It was comfortable, he is well behaved, water was offered. A very enjoyable afternoon!
Small quantities of overpriced food.
While we did wait to be seated for awhile, never happened before, the hostess had us seated soon enough. The bartender made a fine cocktail and was helpful in the selection of champagnes. Once seated Juan, our server, took exceptional care of us. While the next two bottles of bubbly were also unavailable the sommelier sent two glasses over from the bar of rose which were very acceptable. The remainder of our brunch, considering we were the last reservation at 1:45 (not seated until after 2), was handled expertly by Juan having us fully enjoy our meal while trying not to be “those guys” who stay late after service is finished. Thanks again and we will return!
Great Brunch. Small menu but very well prepared items. The duck confit eggs benedict was yummy and I loved the buttermilk pancakes as well. Elegant restaurant on the pricey side
Best 1-Star experience we’ve had (and we’ve done a bunch in the city). Would have loved to do the tasting menu but did not have time.
The food was great! The tartare was phenomenal, as was the tortellini and the chicken! Amuse bouche was fun. Who would have guessed chicken would ever be a highlight? We had the chocolate chip cookie for dessert which was solid ... could have used a glass of milk.
Very reasonable price.
Cannot wait to go back!
Our server, Justin, was fantastic.
