Outstanding service, beautiful setting and delicious food elegantly presented. Can’t ask for anything more.
Loved the birthday cake they did for my partner! We have found our new favorite restaurant up in the city! Thanks Spruce!
Spruce is an outstanding restaurant in the heart of PacificHeights!
Great services, excellent food. Outside dinning was comfortable-good chairs and table-exceed expectations.
The service was outstanding. Unfortunately, we were seated outside which is less desirable. I expected to be wowed with the food but not so much.
Extraordinary service, spectacular food and a lovely ambiance .
Food great, sommelier great, waiter good, ambience as good as it could be outside
Great place. I wish they choose more quiet music. Other than that it was perfect.
Asparagus, Fava Bean and Fois Gras apps were delightful. The Fois Gras was adult PB&J! Mains were less exciting but tasty and well executed. Creme Brulee was really good.
WE had a terrific lunch and would definitely return to Spruce. the only caveat was the hunk of fried chicken that was served in a dish referred to as chicken salad. Not great. The other meals (four of us) were all excellent, as were the desserts.
Service was exceptional. The waiter was personable, attentive, yet never intrusive.
A very nice place.
Tremendous night out. Great service and exceptional food.
Loved sitting inside where it was blessedly quiet with distanced tables!
What a fuss made over us on our 46th wedding anniversary. Our first dining experience since Covid!!
Delicious, elegant and perfect in every way!!!!
Great to be dining out!
Excellent food, service and ambience!
The food was outstanding and the staff was outstanding!!! Bigger restaurant?
Inattentive, pompous and painfully slow service. We didn’t get o
Celebrated my husbands birthday at Spruce. The ambiance outside was wonderful, our server attentive and the food and wine delicious. We look forward to coming back.
I absolutely love this place and would recommend to anyone for a special occasion or just everyday dining. It’s a little pricey when you add up the drinks and any courses that require an additional fee but it’s worth the price for the amazing food and service you get. They did a great job of their outdoor patio but the heat lamps weren’t quite enough to keep me warm.
We had a fantastic experience. Very happy with the food and the very professional service of our wait staff. Food-wise, the duck was the winner. Well definitely go back.
Always amazing service and food. They always add a nice touch with birthdays.
I have been dining at Spruce and the other wonderful restaurants in the Bacchus Management Group for years. The Village Pub and The Village Bakery and Cafe in Woodside, and Spruce are my all time favorites. They have created a safe outdoor dining experience, and continue to offer impeccable service and delicious food, much of it sourced locally. If you want a safe outdoor dining experience, I would recommend all of the restaurants in their family, as they have created beautiful outdoor dining. It may be a long term thing, as we do live in a warm climate. Support all restaurants, but these by far deliver above and beyond.
We arrived at Spruce and were glad to be seated inside as it was cold and windy outside .
We went there to celebrate our 25th anniversary and was seated in their outdoor parklet. It was fairly windy and cold at first, but they moved our table a bit and then it was fine. The meal was delicious and the service outstanding.
Food, service, and overall experience was great for fine dining!
Beautiful and cozy setting, with attentive service, and delicious food. Just do not order the duck (currently featured on the menu), as the meat quality has a lot to be desired (i.e., not tender the way it is supposed to be).
FABULOUS...LOVED OUR SPECIAL SEAT IN THE BAR AREA...DIVINE FOOD!
Loved the food, ambiance, and service.
Wonderful., as always! Exceptional service and food to match. Will keep coming back for many more years.
Chase was an awesome waiter, friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating is generally well-spaced and comfortable.
Amazing food - the foie gras, the salmon, the duck. We had many different deserts and got two cookies to take home as presents from the chef :)
They didn’t serve us until I voiced concerns. I’m not white but my mom and I felt service unequal to others.
Everything was done perfectly—tasted amazing, looked beautiful, and creative. Splendid.
The food here is stellar. The service is stellar. A reliably great experience.
The service was unusually poor. Our lunch took nearly 3 hours. Unacceptable
The food was very tasty as I expected, especially the mi-cuit salmon I had that was exquisite — but I was very disappointed at the service. After waiting for 20 minutes for someone to take our order, I had to interrupt a waiter to finally be able to order. Maybe my perception is not right because we waited so long before we could order food, but it felt like it took forever to get our drinks. That’s surprising because several tables were empty, it wasn’t rush hour or anything.
Then when our food finally came... both appetizers and entrees came at the same time. There wasn’t enough room on the table to accommodate all the plates so they couldn’t put the plates we were supposed to use to share the appetizers... Not very convenient.
About 5 minutes after we had started eating, someone came to offer to take the entrees back so we could eat the dishes separately, but we were really hungry and the food was getting cold anyway (we were eating outside and it was really cold) so we preferred to eat as fast as we could to avoid more inconvenience.
It was my husband’s birthday and I think it’s the first time no one said anything even though I had specified the occasion was a birthday when making the reservation.
The waiter was very apologetic though, and was generous with the wine I ordered, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for the whole experience. And they charge a 20% gratuity by default, no matter the experience...
I am very surprised and disappointed at this whole experience, I was really looking forward to eating at Spruce since it was the first time in months my husband and I could enjoy a lunch out.
Great service. Good food.
Exceptional experience. They are such pros!
Great service and wonderful food
The experience started with the hostess having an attitude when we were brought to a sunny table and asked if we could have the table in the shade. Her response was "that table was not requested by you". How would we know to request it?
The food was all over cooked. Medium rare hamburgers came well done, the bread on the pastrami was charred and the duck confit was dry. The server did not come out to see how we were enjoying out food until way into the eating process.
The manager was very kind and made a new sandwich to go and gave us desert. That helped...but we spent over $400 for lunch with a nice bottle of wine. It should have been superb.
