12th Anniversary and could not have been more delighted with food, staff, service, and ambiance. Wonderful food, chef graciously and easily accomadated gluten and dairy allergy. Top notch and can’t wait to go back.

Spring Mill Cafe is always excellent. The restaurant is quaint, intimate, cozy. The wait staff is attentive, friendly, but not pushy. We started with the artichoke salad and the escargot, both very tasty. My wife had the lapin, she loves that dish, very tasty and rich. I had the Pork chop. Although the pork chop was the star of the plate, tender, tasty, nice size, the roasted root vegetables were excellent. For desert we had the flour-less cardamom almond cake and peppermint ice cream ,so very flavorful, delicious. Great evening.

Excellent service and food. The server did not rush us and very attentive without breaking out conversation. Definitely making this one of our regular spots from now on. It was just perfect!

Everything was stale and cold. The croissants ($7 bucks were 3 minis). were hard and dry and black at the bottom. No better than two day old pillsbury crescent roles. The “house made” brioche was stale and hard in the middle. The breakfast potatoes were again undercooked and slightly warmed up in the microwave. Everything else was about as good or even worse than La Madeline’s. I will NEVER return.

We go regularly and like the ambience and service but the food is getting mediocre and the very limited menu is becoming a problem fr repeated visits.

went here with friends. I had the cauliflower steak. Very bland, tasteless. My friend had the pork chop. It was awesome. My husband had the fish special and he said it was just so so. That was his first time there and says he won't go back. I have been there in the past and loved it. Im wondering if they changed ownership?

Pretty country house setting. Mixed opinions on meal. Very good escargot, competent smoked trout salad and anchovy salad, ditto for the chicken liver pate. Outstanding pork chop with brandy cream sauce and a very well-cooked Baramundi. Pot de feu was supposed to be beef short ribs but when it came to the table was obviously a thick piece of brisket, not braised long enough, a bit tough and on the dry side. Chocolate hazelnut tort was served cold and did not have good flavor according to the two chocolate aficionados who shared this. The coffee was excellent. The service was also very good, much better than you normally see in the suburbs.

An 80th birthday luncheon with a dear friend. The setting is quaint, light music plays in the background and the menu is interesting complete with some French bistro favorites and specials of the day.
My friend enjoyed the omelette du jour with spicy sausage and gruyere cheese. I was looking forward to the autumn salad with beets, farro, acorn squash with goat cheese garnished with sprouts. Although it was assembled precisely, I was a bit disappointed since the flavors would have been much more enjoyable served at room temperature rather than ice cold. It appeared that the salad was prepared in advance and refrigerated rather than prepared when ordered.

We had a very nice brunch here. My husband had the French Toast special and I ordered the Croque Madame, both were very good. The restaurant has a quirky charm to it. It feels part farmhouse bistro, part country store. The tables are a bit tight, but the noise was never a problem. There were a couple of services glitches, but quickly remedied by the very pleasant staff. Overall, I'd say it was a good experience and value.

Authentic French country meal. Escargot was properly prepared and presented. Duck liver pate was very flavorful, Rabbit was the hit of the meal. Scallops were a bit bland. Would have liked a little more creativity for the specials. Not a big Branzino fan. Nice setting off the beaten path. We had a 7pm Saturday evening reservation. Once we placed our order, the appetizer came out in minutes. Maybe 3 but no more than 5. Much too quickly. We asked our waiter to slow down the pace, we didn't want to be out of there in 30 minutes. He complied. If you know French dining, then you know there is fine dining and there is casual dining. This fit the latter very well.

We had a group of 8 with ages ranging from 20 to 60 years old. We were seated in a separate smaller room which was nice so that we could talk loudly enough for everyone to hear. The rabbit dish needed more seasoning; the bass was excellent!

Special appetizer was best grilled octopus ever! Hubby's pork chop was cooked to perfection as well as my magnificent scallops. Forgot it was BYOb but they offered a surprisingly good glass of Bordeaux. One negative comment is the tablecloth was white paper....is that something new in fine dining. If so, it's a turnoff. Nevertheless, I highly recommend.

My wife would rather have her birthday dinner at Spring Mill Cafe than any other place - last night was just the latest of many. The seasonal menu is in transition, with some new for fall & some yet to be changed. My wife's poached shrimp salad was both beautiful & delicious, and we shared the excellent & quite generous pâté sampler. Then she had scallops Niçoise while I enjoyed the tarte ratatouille (zucchini, squash, peppers & eggplant on a puff pastry) with a fabulous chevre plus a fresh corn salad. As it was her birthday, we even had a large chunk of Montmorency with fresh berries. Worth noting is the fact that there was a large private party going on in the other building, but neither service nor ambience suffered in the least on our side. Another memorable birthday at one of our favorite places anywhere!

This was our first visit. The food was excellent and matched by the service (Great service Kate). We were a party of 4 and were seated on the front porch, as requested. The traffic is rather noisy, which was a bit of a nuisance at times. Still, we had a nice meal.

I did not realize that there was another location where one could sit outside. If I were to go again I would ask to be seated on the porch of the detached building.

Spring mill cafe is a quaint French cafe in an old farm house. Had lovely Sunday brunch in a small room so it was easy to talk. Each of us had brunch selections including ham and cheese omelet, salad, French toast with fruit syrup and salad with goat cheese and delicious dressing, and tasty coffee. The bill was a little pricy but the food, service and ambience were worth it. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.

We usually go for special occasions, but we decided to go for the holiday weekend. The food is very good, but it is the
ambiance we enjoy almost as much. It is a French restaurant in a countryside setting. It is BYO, which helps make the
overall cost of the meal reasonable. The servers are familiar, and we enjoy our engaging interactions. Overall, it is just
a very enjoyable night out.

A special group of my friends and I have been meeting for lunches and dinners at Spring Mill Cafe for several decades now! We absolutely LOVE the place. Completely relaxed atmosphere -- you can be there for hours and you won't be rushed out the door. It's not noisy and the food is wonderful and reasonably priced. BYOB as well.

Do you like being served beautiful, wonderful, delicious food in the soft breeze of a 70 degree, cloudless evening in late summer on a rustic porch? Do you appreciate people with the knowledge, skill & experience to make even a simple meal special? This is only part of the SMC experience, because (like the menu) it changes with the seasons. My wife's gazpacho was thick & lush, with just the right classic flavor. I started with the Basque salad, which brought me grilled artichokes with squash, broad leaf greens, a bit of cheese, & a fabulous classic vinaigrette dressing. She had mahi mahi on couscous for a main course, which looked & smelled delicious but was consumed by its owner with nary a molecule offered to me :( while I enjoyed the Moroccan chicken. My bird was perfectly done, tender & juicy with bits of red fruit among the classic ingredients. We shared a fruit tart & sorbet to finish yet another memorable meal at SMC.
