Great meal. Outdoor seating can be noisy but the food is unmatched.
Very fine dining experience. The service has always been exceptional ... cheerful and helpful. Outdoor seating was not bad; occasional noise from the road was a minor problem.
Spring Mill Café was wonderful. The service and food were wonderful. We had a wonderful time, towards the end it was getting a little noisy, but the building is old and has character - I didn't mind at all. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great dinner.
Always a winner but better now than ever! The branzino (poisson de jour) was delicious as was the whitefish appetizer salad.
Great French food in an old farmhouse. 40 years in the same location and has never missed a beat.
Went for late dinner with a friend, air conditioning blasting beyond all reason, and though the place wasn't full, it was very noisy. The food is overpriced. This time we only had appetizers, they are pretty good, but pricey. On my previous visit we had the cheese plate - tiny samples for a "large" plate. That same visit we were also didn't like the main courses much.
We ordered a chocolate mousse - it's tiny, and again, not impressive in any way.
Not a good value.
Spring Mill is our go to for a wonderful meal and to celebrate a festive occasion ( was our 38th wedding anniversary). The food is always delicious ( love the loaf pate) and the service is very good without being pretentious, annoying or overly solicitous. We will be back!
Everything was excellent. The food, the service, the ambiance. Literally, everything. The manager, Lisa, and our waitress, Shawn, were so warm, kind , and attentive. We were very surprised to learn that Lisa is a relatively new member to the team. Her knowledge of the history of Spring Mill Cafe and her smooth operation of the restaurant had us thinking she's been there for years. Shawn couldn't have been a sweeter, calmer waitress. She was the only waitress and she worked the entire restaurant with such ease. And Lisa managed the entire operation while assisting with the tables. The food was so very good. Everything was made with care and attention to detail. The cafe itself is absolutely quaint and charming. We wouldn't change a thing about Spring Mill Cafe or our experience there. We will be back many times more, that is for certain.
This is our favorite restaurant. It is expensive (you get what you pay for, trust me) so it’s not like we go often, but if we have a special occasion or just really need to escape reality, we go to Spring Mill Cafe.
Edwin and the other staff are incredibly good at their jobs and will take wonderful care of you if you let them. When we were there this weekend, the patrons behind us ordered one course and begged for something off the menu. I don’t know how you expect to have a very good experience doing it that way. Everything I’ve ever had there has been exceptional, and we usually take suggestions. If you can put your trust in your servers and the chefs, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time
Spring Mill has become one of my most favorite restaurants. My sister and I often bring our aunt who lived in France for many years and the food and ambiance recall some of the best meals she had in the country.
Great food. Very good service.
Loved sitting outside
The Cafe has two separate buildings, as well as some outside seating that is lovely in cooler weather. The inside ambiance is rustic (like a farmhouse) and charming. We opted for the equivalent of a prix fixe for the group. That option still allowed selection of a first and second course, but provided other additions (pates, other tastings) during the course of the meal. We had a wonderful meal - the food was excellent, and the service was great without being too much. The filet special and the rack of lamb were particular standouts, but there were no bad notes from any of the other courses either. We'll definitely be visiting again.
This is a hidden gem. It's menu was interesting. The food was prepared perfectly and the service was wonderful. Highly recommended.
Great food. A wonderful place to eat. This is our favorite restaurant for special occasion or just a dinner with friends.
Great French cuisine in a rustic setting. Everything is carefully prepared and served. It's a feast to the senses.
Everything was great except for the cheese board. We ordered the large because there were 4 of us and it was soooooo skimpy!! 4 very small pieces of cheese 7 berries and crostini just did not make any sense. Not worth ordering. Our other selections were all very good with nice portion sizes. All wait staff were great.
One of my absolute favorites - perfect for special occasions
Another fabulous meal at Spring Mill. Dined outdoors. Had the grilled octopus appetizer, carrot soup with ginger, and the cod fish. A lovely, light summer dinner.
Excellent restaurant! It is so pretty and it seems as if attention was paid to every detail. Food was very good. Highly recommend!
Great, as usual. Delicious filet mignon with truffle butter and truffle mashed potatoes. (Seriously, can there be any such thing as too many truffles?). Also salmon with salsify. Nathan excels as host.
We love the Spring Mill Cafe. The ambiance and service were excellent. However, my spouse and I both ordered the Mahi Mahi over shellfish risotto special. Unfortunately, it had a bit of a "fishy" taste. A disappointment.
spring Mill cafe is always a great place to have dinner. This was our first time for brunch on father's day. The food was amazing as always and the service excellent. They were also very accomodating as we were with our baby and we got a perfect table. If you love real , authentic french food, this is the place for you. the fact that is a BYOB offsets the cost of the food. Highly recommend this place
We went on Father’s Day. You would think they have a few more kid friendly items as it was a family oriented day.
Our wait person was not around most of the time. Other tables came and left and we were still waiting for her to show up with the check.
I got seriously ill with whatever I had. Will not ever go back again!
Maji-Maji overcoocked, rabbit inedible
Spring Mill Cafe is an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The menu is varied and outstanding, the service is excellent and the building is beautiful. The tranquillity and charm of the location can only be matched by the quality and preparation of the food. I recommend this BYOB for all occasions, including lunch.
Very romantic and relaxing.
I have always loved this place. They knew it was our anniversary so gave us a charming table & treated us to an extra dessert. Food was delicious and service was great👍
Great food. Great service. It’s a BYO as well which is really important.
Everything we ordered, poached shrimp appetizer, bone less beef, the salmon was exceptional on this saturday
been going there for the past 30 years.classic French and regional dishes from sother france, with a hint of the meditteranean
The service was great - very friendly and pleasant and we didn’t have a long wait for our food. Unfortunately the chicken pate had no real flavor, and the overly pink color was concerning because it seemed the liver was undercooked. The carrot soup was rather bland as well. The short ribs were very good. The moroccan chicken in the puffed pastry was dry. The orange marmalade cake was tasty but overall the presentation with a few berries or orange rind would have improved things dramatically. It is a very pretty location and I would recommend it but with these caveats.
Thanks Always a wonderful experience and we will return.
We visit Spring Mill Café regularly. On this occasion, we had a vichyssoise-like soup with asparagus and corn, a salad with white anchovies, the beet salad, perch served with a quinoa pilaf, and salmon with salsify. We had a side of green beans. Although we were well satisfied, we did eat dessert: fresh berries with whipped cream and crème de cassis, and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. Spring Mill Café is also a great deal because it is BYOB, so you can bring something nice along. Finally, a shout-out to Nathan. It is a particularly special night when Nathan is working front of house because he is welcoming, charming, and knowledgeable.
SMC's a great place to catch up with friends, especially those who love great, fresh, beautiful, simple food that doesn't need a fancy room and stiff staff to be sophisticated. We started with a large pâté platter and the daily salad special (white anchovies on a nice pile of julienned vegetables), all of which pleased us immensely. My wife's crab-stuffed trout, a dinner special for the day, really deserved to be called special - it looked, smelled, and tasted absolutely fantastic. I had the tajine, a wonderful harissa-spiced vegetarian stew (eggplant based, this time around) with dried fruit over couscous that filled and pleased me greatly. Our companions raved about their bastilla (chicken spiced with cinnamon, turmeric, saffron and almonds), and in only about 2 hours we found ourselves filled to capacity - even without dessert. We always feel at home here - you should stop in and see for yourself.
We love this place, but this was the most perfect visit ever. The piping hot rolls disappeared quickly. The Moroccan chicken special recommended by our server was light and divine. The scallop appetizer was a perfect main dish for my wife, who eats lightly. The salad endives were astonishingly fresh. And who can resist the Daffodil cake?
Overall tha meal, always was really good, have been coming to Spring Mill for many years. Two suggestions, I thought the serving of pate was small, ive ordered many times so I can compare, also the chick peas were quite dry and lacked flavor, I really never eat them so maybe it’s me, but I don’t think so, a risotto or veg would have been good, espically with the wonderful fish. June’s lamb was a grand slam as was my lemon sorbet. We shall return, maybe the lapin with the great sauce and crumbled sausage.
Not as good as we have had in the past. The fish special was limited in flavor and the chickpeas didn't add a thing. Salads and appetizers were fine, and desserts good.. We love the atmosphere and the valet staff was so accommodating. Nothing in the food department wanted us to say "Wow". Expensive for what we had.
Unfortunately, all our dishes were very bland. The staff were great but I wouldn't go back.
