Spring Mill Cafe
Spent a lovely evening at the Spring Mill Cafe. It was a quite night so noise level was not an issue. I have recommended the restaurant in the past and will continue to do so.
Great unpretentious French food. If you love French food but don’t want to pay through the nose, this is your place.
Had not been to Spring Mill Cafe in years, but was glad to see the place is still going strong. Met an old friend here for lunch and the ambiance gives you the feeling that you are on vacation—all on the outskirts of Conshohocken. The cafe has a wonderful, relaxing, funky country inn atmosphere and a nice menu of French classics with a some creative options as well. I had a ratatouille and goat cheese tart in puff pastry, with a side garden salad, which was excellent. The fact that the place is a BYOB makes it a good value. (I brought a good bottle of wine, and it made our lunch feel very special—without the big ticket price.) Service from our delightful waitress, Kim, was friendly and attentive. All in all, a great time.
This place is top notch. We had the scallops, the pork chop, the tuna appetizer, the cheese plate, and the chocolate mousse...we overindulged. I love that it is BYO as well. Our server was a pro. Everything was excellent. It took us nearly 8 years of living in Conshohocken to finally dine here—I’m just glad we finally did.
We love it there it’s our home away from home. 😍😍
Charming spot with friendly service that offers casual dining for French cuisine that is more rustic. All dishes were well prepared, cooked and tasted good. The pork chop was perfectly cooked, but the sauce was a sour base and did not make sense. The chicken dish wrapped in light pastry and almond was a good blend of sweet, salt and optional hot. Nice flavors overall, but the chicken was drier than ideal. Much preferred over the pork chop. Appetizer of day was a yellowfin tartar marinated. It was quality yellowfin. Gazpacho soup of day was fresh and flavorful. Homemade deserts (orange cake and dandelion cake) were solid hits and tasted homemade, which sound like an odd compliment. Overall, for the price, you will have a good dining experience. Nothing stands out exceptionally, but for the price, you will have a well prepared and cared for meal with quality ingredients from start to finish served by friendly, attentive staff. Spring Mill does have je ne sais quoi, but I would venture to an untasted restaurant or two before I would go back. Rating: would enjoy returning.
Always a perfect time at Spring Mill. Favorite place. Outstanding food and service.
Beautiful setting, delicious food.
Everything was fabulous!
A charming and relaxing place for a summer Sunday outing...brunch is delightful...or a winter evening repast...the beouf bourguignon is a hardy meal straight out of the farmers kitchen. Service is always comfortable and the wine list is great (you get to bring your own!!!)
Rosanne was amazing. Everyone there was fabulous.
Sat outside on a beautiful end-of-summer evening....ate all the things and loved everything!
charming place, mostly traditional French dishes on menu with some variations, which makes it more interesting. I'm a food snob, so I'd say the food is very good for the Philadelphia suburbs, slightly above average compared to a good Brooklyn eatery these days.
Spring Mill Cafe and its staff continue to provide a wonderful dining experience.
We love going to Spring Mill! We love everything about it especially when it is quiet and we have our 98 yr old dad with us. The people are amazingly gracious, knowledgeable, and kind. The food is adventurous, always perfectly presented and fabulously tasty.
Summer tradition -outside dining on a beautiful night -special place
Wonderful meal. Great service. Beautiful restaurant.
We did not make it to France but we did spend the evening at the Spring Mill Cafe. Quiet romantic ambiance, flawless and knowledgeable service service, unfussy superb authentic French cuisine.
4 person engagement event for my daughter. Ezra suggested a beautiful private menu. Everything was spot on and precisely executed. Wonderful as usual at Spring Mill.
Service and ambiance great as always. The food was slightly less then usual but still very food.
always hits the mark. Never disappoints. loved the scallops!!
Charming setting, excellent food, great friendly, efficient service. We were there on a Sunday night, and there was very little traffic on the nearby road; certainly not bothersome. The restaurant was comfortably busy, but no one was waiting for our table, so we felt able to relax and enjoy each other's company in our small group. Overall a very nice experience.
Very nice experience. Food and service was great. We will be back.
One of our favorite places to celebrate our anniversary when we're in town
We had very fast service, lisa was great. The food was excellent and the portions were more than expected. My daughter and son in law recommended this restaurant for our anniversary. We were not disappointed, and we will recommend this restaurant to our friends.
We love coming here for our anniversary. Great French cuisine that is still using the same timeless recipes from when they originally opened.
Spring Mill Cafe never disappoints. The food is amazing and the staff friendly and efficient. Just a delight.
A lovely spot off the beaten track. Delicious meal; pleasant atmosphere; attentive service.
Fabulous evening! As always!
Went for a first date anniversary dinner and was very disappointed with both service and food quality. Food was sporadic. The pate tasting was great but the scallops somehow found a way to be both undercooked and rubbery depending upon which one selected within the same plate.
Service was lacking. Don’t necessarily expect or want someone hovering over the table, but given the atmosphere would expect proactive fills. We brought our own single bottle of wine as it’s a BYO, and ordered bottled still water but found ourselves pouring and flagging down whoever was close for more water.
Sounds silly when I read this but unfortunately would not revisit even given it was where we first met.
Good bistro experience with friendly atmosphere, good service and interesting and unusual menu items.
Just a nice experience - a lovely room with lots of history; a solid menu that knows its identity; pleasant staff; pretty quiet (a great virtue these days!).
Lovely, lovely server and wonderful ambiance. Loved the Chimay cheese on the cheese plate, the goat cheese marmalade over the beet salad was delicious, entrees were tasty too! Gotta love this spot! A little pricey, but a real gem!
Charming local find with fresh food and good service.
Amazing gem tucked in the woods of the suburbs!
This is a charming restaurant, located in an old house and tucked away behind the bustle of the new Conshohocken. It provides a nice selection of French stalwarts like pate, escargots and rabbit, well prepared and authentic. Service was smooth and excellent, well-timed without being overbearing. My only quibble is that I wish the web site made it clearer that they are a BYOB, a French meal without wine! Catastrophe!
It was not busy when we dined, so quiet. Three of us had the prix fixe, with choice of salad, entree and dessert. superb in every respect.
The venue and service are stellar- and the food is even better! Spring Mill never misses an opportunity to surprise you will flavor and satisfy you with savory, sweet and spectacular specials. This visit introduced a chilled curry carrot soup that was wonderfully smooth, rich and both chilled and hot- just enough spice! Out server Lisa was attentive and pleasant and allowed us to enjoy the evening thoroughly.
The food at Spring Mill is always fresh the service impeccable. My only complaint is that the menu is limited & preparations are often done in advance so they can’t always prepare foods made to order. If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, this makes a limited menu even more limiting. If you’re an adventurous eater with no dietary limitations, you’ll enjoy anything you order!
