I am so sad. We've been going to this little neighborhood gem for years. And while the wait times for food can be a little long, the service is always friendly and the food is always worth the wait. Took my mother there for a birthday brunch Sunday and will never go back. Our server, who's waited on us several times before without issue, was definitely having an "off" day. That's ok...we all have them. But that doesn't excuse his disappearance from the floor for periods long enough to have cooked our meal himself. We complained to a manager, along with 2 other tables, that not only was our server missing but there didn't really seem to be anyone working; it didn't help. It's just not common to be in a full restaurant and look around to see no one on the floor. We could've all dined and dashed and no one would've been the wiser. Well, we could've done that if we'd had food. It took nearly an hour to get our entrees. We did order an appetizer - pimento cheese with burnt toast (I don't think the toast is advertised as "burnt" but it should be). But we also had a 5-y.o. at the table. Anyone in the restaurant industry knows you get the food to the kid quickly and no one gets hurt. Our kiddo's meal was the last to arrive. Before it, we got an eggs benedict with undercooked, underseasoned home fries and no hollandaise; a burger with a woeful lack of salt; french fries that appeared overcooked, but were actually just brown and mushy...a sign that they'd been sitting in old grease; and the highlight - shrimp and grits disguised under a very thick coating of something oily and gross (not an artful drizzle of a delightful little herbacious oil...this was straight up grease and there were no visible grits!). The shrimp and grits went back and my wife and I seasoned and split the burger. We waited another 25 mins for the check and left as quickly as we could. They comped the shrimp & grease. But it's not enough to get me back there. What a shame.
The gluten free options were huge selection! The ribeye was tough and my husband wasn’t impressed. Everything else we had, Springer stuffed chicken, shaved Brussels sprouts, fries, trout dip, tuna appetizer were amazing
I always enjoy this restaurant. They made a great first impression on a friend. The grit fries were awesome!
Food and drinks are always great quality. This is my go to neighborhood spot!

Great experience as usual...😍
The food was great, especially the fish tacos.
Excellent and imaginative fresh food. We loved the Brussels sprouts and contemplated ordering another order. Salmon was cooked perfectly and was accompanied by a tasty ginger sauce. Wonderful drink options too!
We have driven by Sprig many times before but had never patronized it. I was looking for an Easter brunch that was not buffet and reasonably priced. I found this option in Open Table and went for it! It turned out wonderfully. Each member of my family (four of us) was very happy with their selections. It was a pleasant ambiance. Fantastic service by Amy, and Manager Ryan checked in on us. I greatly enjoyed a freshly made Nectarita from the cocktail menu. Now that we know about Sunday brunch at Sprig we will go back at some point after church ...and will take others with us!
Easter brunch was really disappointing. I go to Sprig often and am always encouraging others to try it. But the staff seemed completely overwhelmed by the brunch crowd. It took a solid hour to get a salad appetizer, and then another 15 minutes to get the entrees, which were lukewarm, as if they had been sitting for a while.
It was a very unusual experience at this restaurant. I’m not sure what the problem was today, but I’m hoping they get their act together. I’ll definitely give them another chance.
The manager did walk around and ask for diner feedback, and he got an earful. He comped a few meals, I overheard, but it would have been a nice gesture if they had brought out free muffins or free dessert or something for everybody who was waiting so patiently.
I absolutely love Sprig for dinner, but their Easter brunch was a major disappointment. We had 11:15am reservations for three & were seated immediately, but unfortunately two entrees arrived 50 minutes later & the third another 5 minutes after that. The restaurant appeared 80% occupied, so I really did not understand the disconnect on service & timing. I definitely will not be back for brunch.
Consistently a great experience at Sprig. Our server Erin was fanatic as usual. Collard green queso and pork skin appetizer was delicious. Grilled salmon entree was cooked to perfection.
Sprig is always a wonderful experience and a great time. We had a nice light brunch out on the patio on one of the first truly nice days of the year. The bottomless mimosas were flowing (as they should be), our waiter was speedy and charming, and the food was top notch as usual. I think I could eat the pimento cheese and Brussels sprouts appetizers every day of the week and they’d never get old. Still easily my favorite place in the city to eat and hang out with friends and occasionally, with our pups.
Ralph was our server and took very good care of us. The Blanton’s I had was excellent and my friend’s cocktail was as well. She enjoyed the trout and I had the salmon; both were beautifully prepared and plated. The cherry pie and the caramel cake topped off our meal and were delicious. We love Sprig for the ambiance, great food and service.
Great evening! Dinner with friends from the office and stymbked on $5 Bourbon Wednesday! Bartender was very knowledgeable and fun! Staff was on point! One of my fav restaurants!
This is a neighborhood gem. Delicious, healthy food in a quiet setting. Always reliable!
Food was unique. Ambience great. In a little shopping center in quiet neighborhood in Decatur.
Food is great for dinner. Brunch was disappointing eggs Benedict with hard poached eggs and no hollandaise sauce. So dry it was hard to eat.
Terrific Salmon, salads and the grit fries are delicious !
Keyon is a nice guy and a good waiter!
We were a group of six for brunch. Great place for medium group. Food was good. A little slow on drink refills.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our date night dinner at Spring Restaurant. The menu was filled with creative dishes featuring fresh ingredients. I splurged on the rosemary lemonade, a gin cocktail. It was absolutely delicious, but at $10, it was a pretty small glass filled with ice. I had the special, rabbit in a mustard sauce with mashed purple potatoes and grilled asparagus. Absolutely divine. My husband had the salmon with grilled asparagus, although he substituted mashed red potatoes for the veggie mash. We ate outside under a cute red umbrella and patio lights. There's a park nearby, so we could hear children playing, but they weren't overly loud. Certainly not distracting from our conversation. Overall, it was a great meal for date night, but with small serving sizes for the prices, it's not somewhere we would go outside of special occasions.
One of my favorite places to eat dinner in neighborhood. Staff is great as well as food and cocktails...Try the "Oak Grove"
Great service has a wide variety of food items. The Brussel sprouts were great and the farro vegetable option was very tasty .
We have dined at Sprigs on previous occasions and always been very pleased with food and service! Reservations a must on Saturday evenings!
The frito misto... the scallops tasted very fishy. So much so, we didn’t eat them.
As a gluten free diner, I love the safety of sprig. I would really enjoy a gf bread basket as that is RARE! Willing to pay for it- but it would make the experiment 5 stars
Ok as usual
One of my co-workers Birthday brunch...Sprig is one of my favorite places to go! They are consistent and I love it...great food, great drinks and wonderful atmosphere...
Great experience. They take food allergies very seriously. We trust them not to cross contaminate or serve incorrect items.
Four of us went for brunch on Sunday. We all really liked our food, but our table was surrounded on three sides with tables full of children and babies. Very loud screaming and crying the entire time we were there. We finally had to get the check and leave before we finished lunch. I won't be returning, but may order from Uber Eats.
I've been to Sprig for dinner and brunch and both were excellent! Great food, very reasonably priced, great service, they didn't mind that we lingered to talk, the atmosphere was good. They also have an outdoor patio, which I can't wait to make use of when it warms up. And the stone ground cheese grit fries are not to be missed!
We ate dinner on the patio watching children playing in the park nearby. A beautiful spring night with gentle breeze and flowers beginning to bloom. We enjoyed baby back ribs and spinach salad. Yummy.
My scallops and shrimp was great, reservations was nice to have since others had to wait.
We were not informed of the special menu for Valentine's Day,
neither by phone when I called to book, nor on the web site.
Thus, we brought home a lot of food.
We love Sprig. On Valentine's Day, our reservation was at 8:15. There were thirty other people (I counted) waiting for tables at 8:15, counting folks seated at the bar. We got seated around 9:15. The wait was excessive, especially given that we'd made a reservation. Otherwise, Sprig is lovely.
The menu descriptions aren’t always accurate.
The fixed price menu was not mentioned on their website and it was too expensive and poorly cooked
Valentine's Dinner! Very nice fixed menu. Lamb was delicious.
Delicious as always! Great little north Decatur neighborhood restaurant!
The last couple of times we have been there, the service has been very slow, and the restaurant was NOT that crowded.... All three of us ordered hamburgers. Two of them were overcooked, but we had waited so long for them to come, we decided NOT to return them. It is such a convenient place for us, but we are disappointed and won't be going back any time soon....
