Please note: Sportello is primarily counter seating, but does have several tables for more conventional seating. Tables are available for parties of five or more or by request. Requests are honored based on availability.
Love the food, love the team, love the place and love Ethan!
Wonderful server. Great wine. Lovely ambiance. However, the food was disappointing . Ordered pork Milanese. It was inedible which was surprising for a simple dish. The appetizers were good
Amazing food. Very busy service was a little slow but they gave us a free drink.
Great food and great service. Food was slow but they were nice about it.
Just amazing pasta and a great experience. Funky diner type set up- a very cool way to do top notch italian.
The food was great and our server was very helpful. It was a little loud and crowded but that really just added to the atmosphere.
Amazing service! Food! Wine! Will be back
As usual, it was fabulous!
Wonderful dinner. Food was great, but service was exceptional. The bartender was our waiter and he was phenomenal. It also looked
as if all the staff enjoyed working there. We will return.
Perfectly perfect and more
Our second treat and we plan to be back over and over again
The very best rabbit and bolognese ever
The coffee was even the best - not a hint of bitterness
Thank you Sportello
Love the scene at Sportello, when the place is packed the whole restaurant is vibe-ing.
Being able to watch the kitchen is a great touch.
Our server Ethan was top of the line, have had before and he is an outstanding server.
Food, as always, was top notch
Drinks came after all the food was served, plates never cleaned and additional drinks offered by someone who was passing by. Server greeted us pretty late after we sat. Door hit us on the way out pretty hard too! Haha
Sportello has the best Tagliatelle Bolognese that I have ever had. And I have tried it a quite a few other restaurants. Service was also great. Barbara Lynch does an amazing job.
This food is crazy good. I was totally thrilled to find this restaurant and know that I have someplace to go back to with my family when I’m in Boston.
Outstanding. Best pasta outside of Italy!
Service are outstanding ; however, personally, I found the food are too salty and not much flavor!
Our favorite place in Boston! We loved going here when we lived locally and it’s our must go place every time we are back in town.
Excellent and attentive service. We arrived quite late after a long day of travel from Virginia and though the restaurant was near closing time, our server never rushed us. He was so welcoming and offered us complimentary bowls of roasted tomato soup along with our salads. The fave bean purée with hot bread was absolutely delicious as well. For dinner we ordered the tagliatelle Bolognase which was divine and subtley sweet and milky. The portion was perfectly dressed. Not heavy or over sauced. The pasta with rabbit and green olives was a gem. Brothy and hot with lovely chunks of braised rabbit. So good! I ate every bit. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Boston. Thank you Sportello!
Simply AWESOME! The best pasta I ever ate outside of my home country Italy! Thank you, guys!
Just ok. Disappointed.
Very good and inventive food. Where else can you have rabbit for lunch in Boston? Speaking of which, we had it with homemade pasta. Salmon appetizer was very interesting: different textures-unexpected. Burrata with bits was also very good. Nice and attentive service. Place is normally much busier for lunch during weekdays and impossible (sometimes) to get in for dinner. Good value, considering quality.
We had a delicious meal. Watching the chefs at work really added to the experience.
Excellent food & wine. Very noisy. Had to wait 25 minutes in spite of reservation and timely arrival.
This restaurant is probably our favorite in Fort Point, Seaport District. The food never disappoints---same with the perfect service with friendly staff. We love it! We had our wedding brunch of 5 here years ago as well.
Amazing meal, friendly staff that were extremely
Helpful and passionate about food. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and service albeit expensive!
Major kudos to wait staff and manager who squeezed a surprise guest on the end of our table- much appreciated!
We keep on returning to Sportello as devoted diners because of the personal attention, appreciation and good consistent food. They make note our favorite area to sit, recognize birthdays and anniversaries etc, and are always attentive. We dine out in Boston frequently but there are few restaurants that are repeated , Sportello is one.
What were the highlights this time...
Pork Schnitzel - one order was enough for 2!
Delicious food, great atmosphere! We will definitely be coming back
Our reservation was for 9:30pm. The staff started to close down as we ate well before closing time. Half of our meal was spent listening to cleaning and stuff being put away.
Good place for a easy evening dinner and drink! Great food freshly prepared
Typical of Barbara Lynch, outstandingly good food. The gnocchi were the lightest fluffiest I have ever eaten at a restaurant (outside of what I make at home). our entire meal was outstanding and our service was impeccable.
Lovely meal paired with outstanding service thanks to Ethan!
Another great meal at Sportello. I like how they change up the menu with seasonal ingredients, too.
Lindsay H was our server and she adds so much to the experience with her knowledge of the menu and we always rely on her for our wine choices.
The counter seating is a genius concept! It gives you the impression that you are in a diner, but one that is very chic and minimalist. Ethan takes care of the patrons in this area and he is good at what he does! He gives great recommendations and he does a great job at being personable with each and every guest.
We started out with the burratini, the house bread, and the spicy tomato soup. The bread is to die for! We enjoyed it so much, we asked for some to go and it was still soft and yummy the next day. The burratini was excellent and while I am not a tomato soup fan, I actually enjoyed their version. The tagliatelle was delish and I wish we had ordered another pasta dish because it's made fresh every day and you cannot beat that. Instead, we chose the Rohan duck and I will have to say that it was not worth the 30 minute wait. I love duck, but I prefer it to be a little more crunchy on the outside and medium rare on the inside but not too chewy. By the time I was done chewing the duck, I had developed muscles in my cheeks that I didn't know existed. For dessert we chose the coconut cake and it was amazing!
Abysmal. I have been here before but will not return. Two colleagues had the pork milanese. It was a fried mound, cooked to a crisp, dry and tasteless with a dollop of something like mayonnaise on top. They ate very little. I had the bass on a bed of undistinguishable greens.
We would gladly have had half portions of pasta to start but that was not possible. We decided to share what, we were assured, was an entree portion of the fettuccine with crab ($27). The portion was so small that we ordered a second. I protested that it could not be considered an entree serving. It was a passable, washed out dish.
for a place specializing it pasta, it has pretty not great pasta... 1/3 overcooked, 3/3 minimal flavor, 3/3 oversalted, 3/3 overpriced....
to be fair i have very high standards for pasta, but this was on par with a cheap chain italian restaurant to be honest, besides the prices....
Ethan makes sportello the best in Boston.
Ethan and food- amazing
Great fresh ingredients presented at their best. Friendly atmosphere and wait staff. Worth the tip.
Excellent food as always. One knows one will never be disappointed with Sportello. It was not too crowded the other night, which was extra pleasant. Sometimes it can be overly busy. Very centrally located. food fit for foodies. excellent wine by the glass.....and by the bottle of course.
