The food was outstanding! I had the tagliatelle with a bolognese sauce and it was truly a work of art. The waitstaff was superb, warm and attentive in just the right way! I look forward to the next visit!

Great meal, as always! The diner atmosphere is kinda funky, but if the quality of the meal is more important than the retro surroundings and close tables, it's a perfect place for lunch.

When we think pasta we often think of simple comfort. Sportello turns this upside down with their unique dishes built around fresh made pasta. The combination of ingredients bring pasta to life. And the pasta itself, incredible.... I loved gnocchi before, but after this I can't go back to others.

Ethan, as always, made our experience a great one! Hostess was delightful. You can't beat the food and wine here. LOVE the tomato soup, and can't get enough of the tagliatelle bolognese..nobody does it better than Sportello! We'll be back soon.

This was my third visit. Was not the same experience . I think they where stretched being busy. Service was ok. Food came slow and cold.
I will give it another chance as my first experience was excellent. At their high a la cart pricing they cannot provide anything other than excellent experience or not worth your time.

Have been multiple times. A little let down by service this visit. Seated at awkward located table in spite of a near empty late lunch reservation. Food, as always was pitch perfect. Service slow and not in a good way. Our house at person seemed distracted

I have been here before and had a very nice meal but my recent visit was a big disappointment. I had the rolled and stuffed veal with artichokes. It was seriously overcooked and lacking in rich flavor. My tablemate had a mini lasagna which she enjoyed but did not love. The whole dinner was not as special as I had expected

Way way over priced. Paid $28 for pasta dish ..sauce was good but pasta was limp and not al dente. Best pasta in area is at Prezza or Guilia or Sulmona or Carmelina's even Babbo. Also Sportello charges $5 for bread... Barbara Lynch needs to revise the Sportello business model now that there are plenty of good restaurants in Seaport .

Overall the flavor of food is there but the portion size to food is really low. $29 for 7 gnocchi seems alittle over priced. Think people would order multiple pasta if price wasn’t so steep.

Sportello was wonderful. The menu options were wonderful - and they make all of their own pasta every day, including handmade gluten free pastas for all but 1 of the dishes. It was fantastic - the pasta with braised rabbit and olives was a particular standout. Strongly recommend - we had a delightful time.

Food and service are great, but portions are so small. One thin crostini with ricotta & feta for $9? Focaccia for $5? Entree portions are tiny as well. Best value on the menu are the desserts!

Sportello is one of Boston's dining gems. While it's pricey, the food, the service, the ambiance--low-key but gracious--combine for a memorable dining experience. There's nothing pretentious here, but the chefs are seriously great, the wait staff knowledgeable and friendly. The room is bright and comfortable, with some seating at two U-shaped bars and some tables by the window. Outstanding, well-priced wine list. It's a source of great local pride that we have outstanding women as chef-owners of some of the best dining establishments in town!

Amazing pasta! Great service. Definitely recommend making reservations if you plan to go. We got there at 6 and it was rather empty, but it filled up within the half hour. My boyfriend and I both got wine and pasta and shared focaccia and an affagato for dessert. We both agreed the meal was delicious. It’s a little pricey for a casual night out, but well worth the money.

S/he who dreams of their next trip to Italy take note: keep your tastebuds in shape and dine at this neighborhood eatery. It's worth the detour just to have an assortment of delicious antipasti: the olives are perfectly marinated; the mushrooms juicy and flavorful; the Shishito peppers offer a green veggie balance to the ricotta-feta toast on one side of the spectrum and the delightfully spicy soppresata on the other. The servers will tell you pasta is their thing - believe them. Although I would prefer less truffle flavor in the gnocchi, it's darn good as is the unassailable Bolognese. Sorry, can't help you on desserts. Just sit back and have an amaro.

I've been meaning to try Sportello for a while now, and so glad we did! The atmosphere was great, some tables, but a lot of the seating is at the "bar" (almost "u" shape counter where everyone sits. Definitely makes the dining experience a little different. Portions were small, but the food was delicious!

We had a wonderful dinner at Sportello. Food was delicious and from where we were seated you could see the chefs prepare our meals. Entrees (potato gnocchi and swordfish) were superb along with the marinated mushrooms and Bibb salad for appetizers. Looking forward to going back and sampling some other entrees.

I chose this place for our anniversary dinner because of the reputation of the chef and her family of restaurants. the online menu and reviews helped me feel confident of trying Sportello sight unseen. That turned out to be a mistake for this event.
The restaurant is tiny and cramped and half the seating is at a diner style counter. the place was crowded and loud. So while it was a friendly communal atmosphere it was definitely the wrong setting for an intimate romantic date night. The place would have been fine for 1 or 2 couples before or after a show or movie, but not great for a party of 6 or more, just way to cramped. While we were dressed for a night out with jacket and tie and wife in en even dress ( not ideal for a bar stool) more than half the clientele were dressed very casually, so we looked and felt way over dressed.

Now the food is where Sportello does indeed shine. Incredible salume, olives, fire roasted peppers were all top notch. the octopus was the best I have this side of Madrid and the park shank was perfectly cooked and season.
So I would go again just not for a romantic night out.
