Spoonfed | Bar Joe
Breakfast service begins daily at 7 a.m. and is served until close, with lunch and bar bite offerings available by 9 a.m. and served until close.
The service was awesome. Super friendly, caring and knowledgeable. There was construction happening on the next block so it was a bit noisy. We sat outside, and every now and then we would get a whiff of something fishy. The ambiance was comfy and modern. We liked it a lot. The staff was AWESOME!!! I'd definitely return and suggest Spoonfed/Bar Joe to others. Oh, parking was so so convenient.
Good food. The only thing I would change it was the hashbrowns. They were a little cold. Otherwise beautiful experience. Even on the Dreary day
I found Spoonfed on line after a long frustrating search for a place that could accommodate our family after my mothers celebration of life. We had a very large party ( 30-40) after the memorial service at Hollywood Forever. I spoke with the owner, Sean, prior and he was excellent. We didn’t know how many would be going us and many eateries want a set number for large parties . We had a beautiful section of the patio reserved .
The staff and management were friendly, flexible, helpful. A wonderful destination for community food sharing after the service. Tammy was the manager on duty that day and she was stellar! I used to work in the restaurant business so I know that events like this can be challenging and Spoonfed was excellent.
Definitely going back and will call our coordinator at Hollywood Forever when he’s back in town to have him add this to his list of places to send families .
Thank you Spoonfed!
Was very impressed with the space itself. Seemed to offer something for everyone. We chose to sit outside once I realized that there was sufficient protection from the sun. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious! Would definitely recommend Spoonfed to friends and family and plan to return when I'm in the neighborhood.
It is surprisingly large inside even though it doesn’t appear so from the street. There is a walk up order area and a full service area with a bar. Great food, great service, and just great fun! Loved it!!!
Atmosphere and setting outstanding--love the art, display of Finland ware, and the space and the friendly staff. The prepared food looked good enough but not enough for me to try out. The breakfast brunch menu was limited for the size of the restaurant. I ordered the steak (medium rare) and poached eggs, and the streak was tough and cooked medium--like leather. My guest said the wrap for the carnitas burrito was doughy and thick--not warm, and the cauliflower dish was dry. Also, the coffee was lukewarm--not hot. The wait for the food was long considering there were not that many customers at the time. We decided to sit outdoors and order at the front since it was empty in the dining room--very pleased with the outdoor atmosphere!
Service was quite sporadic. I needed to go up and ask for someone to place our order. Then we had to wait for quite awhile before food came out. I had to ask again about food being ready, and a few minutes later the food was brought out. Friendly but not attentive service. And it wasn’t crowded at all.
Vegan options were great. Love the openness and that it’s not slammed on the weekends. Will definitely be back.
Love this local place in my neighborhood. Perfect for a last minute choice. The food and service is always great and the ambiance is very relaxing.
Really fun place. Cool, modern ambiance with both casual and more formal dining areas as well as both indoor and outdoor dining. Fresh and tasty casual American menu included hamburgers, sandwiches and meat/fish entrees. All really great. Friendly, attentive service.
Awesome ambiance. Awesome services. Awesome food! Highly recommended!
This is a must for brunch lovers, but be sure to get a reservation. It fills fast. We visited on a rainy day so the beautiful patio was unavailable. This also added to a lower score for ambiance as the noise level made it difficult to hear one another across the table. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the gingerale blueberry pancakes and the avocado toast.
my friends and i didn't feel welcome; the staff hardly smiled at us. and the omelet was overcooked.
Love the ambiance and the food but the service was poor. It took almost 30 minutes to be greeted on Mothers Day. Then that person said he would get our server who took another 10 minutes. She took our drink order and disappeared. 15 minute later we had to flag her down for our food order. She said she’d be back, didn’t return and a whole new person came to take our order- no explanation. The new waiter was great but it took 40 minutes for our food. Disappointing for Mother’s Day. But I will say that is a great location with the best food in town. If only the service matched up.
Very nice outdoor ambience and there is ample indoor seating as well. The look of the place is really nice, and hidden away in the middle of Hollywood. The food was quite good - pancake dishes, egg dishes, a sandwich, etc. Only problem is that the restaurant is understaffed, or at least it was on Mother's Day when we were there. It wasn't even that crowded, but they only had two servers for the whole place and so several mistakes were made and had to be sent back to be re-done in the kitchen, things were forgotten, the service was slow, etc. I would still recommend the restaurant, but I'd recommend it a lot higher if they would pump up the wait staff.
Great place for brunch! Excellent food and beautiful setting!
Didn’t eat. It was a business coffee meeting, and the coffee, latte, etc. choices are great. This review requires stars regarding the food, so I gave it an Excellent based on the menu selections.
I have walked past Spoonfed and have wanted to try it. I’ll eat there sometime soon, but when I was asked to have a meeting over coffee Spoonfed was my choice. It’s a great setting and much more relaxing than where the usual coffee meetings take place.
Looking forward to returning for lunch!
Awesome food, but in an office building in the middle of a corporate district. Not very hip.
Went for Easter Brunch. The servers were lovely but we had issues for our party 8. Two meals did not come out with the rest and one of us had to wait 45 minutes after everyone else got their food and then was served a not fully cooked chicken burger. The chicken burger was comped but still. In an effort to wait for that meal to be served the rest of us left a little on our plates which ultimately ended up cold in our effort to be thoughtful. The drinks were good and the food we did receive on time was very good. I'll go back but not on a holiday.
The restaurant was pretty empty, but the servers were a little more interested in talking to each other than bringing our food to the table. The food was very excellent, however.
Lovely spot with great outdoor seating. Dog-friendly and parking readily available for $1 for 90 minutes with validation.
Food is expensive for what it is, but there are some great options in there and the servings are HUGE. Docked a few stars mostly because service was TERRIBLY SLOW... You need to order over the counter, and our party ordered pretty consecutively after each other. I'm not sure if it was because we were seated to the side, but everything came out sporadically and I had to get up to remind them a few times that we were still missing food and drinks. All in, it took about an hour to get our food and drinks, which resulted in us staying much longer than 90minutes and me having to pay almost $7 for parking....
A tip--stay within the line of sight of the cashiers? Assuming that will help you, but really not sure.
Service was really slow considering it wasn’t busy. Ambiance is great
Great place especially around 3pm when I hear it’s slowed down, service was a little slow but the waiter/bartender was nice and had our sense of humor so that’s always a plus 😂
Amazing setup, amazing food, great service. The bar is beautiful, restaurant classy, and outside patio is awesome.
Brunch was lovely! Didn’t have mimosa specials (unlimited or special priced) so we just ordered a bottle and a carafe of fresh squeezed orange juice. Pancakes were Ah-mazing. Best part was that the restaurant was not so busy and chaotic that you could have good conversation and wait staff were wonderful.
The food was fine, the server friendly, the space is great! They need a host!!!! It’s a very unwelcoming environment for a new customer and confusing dual concept.
Awesome restaurant! The food is great and I love the ambiance. I look forward to returning.
I wanted to like the restaurant a lot. We went there for dinner on a Saturday night. It was empty. There are only 4 choices for the main entree. They didn’t have the drink or the dessert I wanted. Very disappointed. The chicken schnitzel I had for dinner was delicious. I also tried my friend’s steak and it was ok, nothing spectacular. Overall, it was ok, but not good enough to make me drive all the way there for dinner again. I’d be willing to try breakfast / lunch at Spoonfed. Still want to try that chocolate cake!
We saw a clip of Shawn and the restaurant on KTLA and wanted to try it. We drove from Pasadena and it was well worth it. We met Shawn and Chef Sergio. Every dish they recommended was excellent. Best dishes were the chicken wings and the chocolate cake. We were very satisfied and would return and recommend it. Great location.
Great food, great service. The outdoor seating is fantastic. Wine by the glass was way too expensive.
We love SpoonFed. The food is really good. We each had soup - chicken noodle for my husband and roasted tomato for me. We then split the Sliders (we ordered one beef and one chicken). Perfectly seasoned food.
We had the Buttermilk Chocolate Cake to go, and took home an order of Brussel Sprouts for dinner.
The wait and counter staff are really friendly. The space is pretty and light and open.
The food here is amazing. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. When they brought out our food, the waitress spilled an entire side of salsa all over my boyfriend’s pants and shoes and tried to walk away like nothing happened. We had to ask for towels and napkins to clean off our clothes. And to make matters worse, no one even bothered to apologize or discount our meal. Another staff member brought us a two “mimosa shots” on the house as a consolation, but when we told her we don’t drink, she just left them on our table and walked away.
Best brunch in Hollywood! This place is fantastic. Great brunch menu and a huge, beautiful bar. I am obsessed. The food is delicious, the staff is attentive and the outdoor patio is cozy and fun. I will be back again soon for sure!
Delicious clean food, creative menu. From comfort food to fine cuisine. The owner really understands food and the large selection has something for everyone. We came early and had drinks at the adjoining bar called Bar Joe. When you enter there is a gourmet shopping area with delicious deserts and unusual items. The entire experience was fantastic. Oh, the outdoor seating is absolutely beautiful. You must try Spoonfed.
Amazing! Outdoor patio is fantastic. Food is delicious! My favorite spot in LA!
