    An excellent experience. Nick, our server, was excellent. The food was outstanding, and they accommodated substitutions without an issue. They got us in an out in time for the show. Happy hour prices were a bonus.

    Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was amazing. The medium rare fillet was cooked to perfection, had a great flavor and was very tender. The mashed potatoes were also a hit with the table. Grilled broccolini was just right. The tuna tartare was a good starter.

    I ate here with my parents on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy or loud. Our server was excellent and attentive. I had the skirt steak which was fantastic! I also really enjoyed the espresso martini. Overall it was a great experience.

    We dined at Spoon & Cellar before attending a theater performance downtown. Our server, Nick, was incredible! He was fun, upbeat, and provided us with great service. He made some menu recommendations, and we enjoyed the whipped benedictine & bread appetizer. This encompassed a warm French baguette with a whipped cream cheese and cucumber spread. It was balanced perfectly! For dinner we got the Spoon Street Tacos which were just okay... They were basic and could have used a little something else. We also ordered the French Dip sandwich, which was plenty of food, but also could have been served with a little something else -perhaps horseradish sauce. In addition to our food, we ordered 2 glasses of wine, and also 2 smoked maple old fashions which were VERY delicious! I would certainly recommend the smoked maple old fashion. Again, our dinner choices could have been better tasting, but service from Nick at Spoon & Cellar was beyond great!

    Spoon and Cellar is conveniently located in the Holiday Inn and Suites on Broadway and 7th st. The restaurant is open and light, the menu casual but creative. The staff is very attentive. Do watch out for the wine salesman--he's overbearing, but don't let that reflect on the rest of the amiable staff and good cooking.

    I am always leery of hotel restaurants and this was on par with expectations. Food was good, waiter was awesome!! Way way too much dressing on strawberry and goat cheese salad…get it on the side but otherwise it was good. If staying in the vicinity, it would recommend.

    Very happy with the menu, the ambiance, and the pricepoints. Great drink selection, and included a couple of mocktails as well - nice touch. We had reservations, and were seated promptly. We ordered pork belly bites for our apps, and it was probably my favorite part of the meal. My wife ordered the Pappardelle and I ordered the Ghost Chicken sandwich with a side of broccolini. Except they brought the broccolini out with the appetizer - odd, but it was delicious, I had just expected it with our meals. The Pappardelle had decent flavor, and the noodles were cooked properly...but it was more of a soup than noodles in a cream sauce. We asked for more Parmesan, and it helped a little, they just missed the mark on the dish. The Ghost Chicken Sandwich Spoon & Cellar "is known for," really was just okay. The chicken was cooked well, and I loved the coating on it. Jalapeno slaw was also really good. But the sauces were made out to be so hot I needed to order them on the side - well, I did and the Ghost sauce was maybe a 3.5 on any given Thai restaurant scale. All in all, it was a good time. If someone else suggests it, I'd go back.

    Appetizers were really good; loaded tater tots, Bavarian pretzel and the pork belly…pork belly was fantastic. Silly us chose the lobster roll - I know, we’re East coasters and know our lobster, but our college freshman wanted lobster. Knuckle pieces at best, really sub par. Stick with the apps, know your lane. The ahi tuna would have been a better bet.

    Loved it! The smoked maple cocktail was the best drink I’ve ever had in any country. Service was quick and friendly. We had no idea it was a hotel lobby restaurant until we arrived, but it didn’t seem like one. We highly recommend the lobster roll.

    Overall a great experience. We will definitely be going back. We had the filet with garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini and it was superb! It is a must have for your Cincinnati outing!!

    Visited for the 1st time during Restaurant Week. The menu had short ribs and bread pudding, two of my favorites. Instead of short ribs, we got pot roast. Pot roast and short ribs are NOT the same. The bread pudding tasted like box cake mix with bread added to it. I was extremely disappointed. The cocktails tasted like punch. The only highlight was our server, Nick. He kept a positive attitude and did his best even as we expressed our dissatisfaction with the food and watered-down cocktails.

    Our server Nick did not write our orders down and of course 2 of our 4 meals came out wrong! He did not inform us that pop refills cost more. He kep calling the men “Bro”; he was not very professional. I complained about my refill so he took mine off, but not my friends! Who by the way had to wait for his meal to be redone because of Nick’s errors. Food was good, just not the service!

    This was my first time at Spoon & Cellar. I wanted to try something new before the broadway show. It was really good. Our server was also excellent. I cannot remember her name but she was great! I will definitely go back.

    pleasant surprise, a good restaurant in a HolidayInn hotel. Service by Nick was excellent, food and wine were a good value - decent bottle of NAPA red at Wed night half price, a decent NY strip and sweet potatoe fries for a special price, we enjoyed two steak dinners, with salad and wine for less than $100, a true bargain for the quality of the meal/service/ambience, we shall be back

    For a restaurant in a hotel I expected a little more. The food was fine and portions were reasonable, but the place was practically empty on a Saturday night. Definitely got a vibe that the owner spends time at the bar schmoozing small groups of people- nice but oblivious to guests outside his purview. Travelled from Indianapolis and finished off here to celebrate a birthday. It wasn’t a “bad” experience, but for the money and the time, I’ll go somewhere else next time. Front of house staff needs to step up their game because the kitchen staff definitely knows what they’re doing.

    The pork belly appetizer was great, the lobster roll was decent for the Midwest, and the chicken katsu was a huge disappointment (in flavor and representation). Waitress was kind but a little pushy with drinks and dessert. Overall it was fine, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here.

    Went here prior to the theater. It is hard to rate the overall experience since there were both big hits and also big misses, especially with my entree. First of all, Appetizers and drinks were great! Pork Belly bites and lemon pepper chicken wings were both fantastic and I Could have ordered more. Several friends meals (Salmon entree and Caesar salad) were good to very good. However I ordered the French dip and it was just awful. I even asked if the server before I ordered if she would describe it as a really good and tasty French dip with good meat. I was told it was not spicy so may not seem as flavorful as a spicy French dip, but that it was sliced rib eye and still very good. It was not good at all. It should not have left the kitchen. The au jus was just greasy meat drippings and had no flavor at all. It spilled over the side so the bottom of the bread was sitting in oily juice, soggy and hard to grasp. The beef inside was thinner than paper, quarter to dime sized pieces of some kind of meat that were put on the grill, overcooked, dried and curled up and then put on the bread. Like the leftover scrapings from a hibachi grill. It was not slices of rib eye which would be medium rare to medium and hopefully juicy. I personally was disappointed in my main meal and one other diner said her pasta did not have much flavor. I might come back for appetizers and drinks, but I don’t think for dinner.

    Generous portions and great service. The bulgar wheat salad with blackened chicken was excellent. My wife enjoyed her French dip. The cheesecake and the chocolate cake... OMG.

    It was mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary and we went to spoon and cellar for our dinner. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was Nicholas and he was so fun and entertaining. He made our day and our anniversary even better. 100% would recommend going for dinner/lunch anytime you get the chance!

    This was our first time at this restaurant, and we really enjoyed it. The food was delicious! The service was outstanding, even though they were understaffed. My only complaint is that we could hear every word the chef(?) called out to the staff in the kitchen. We will definitely go back.

    Tom took great care of us. This is a convenient place to dine before heading to a play. It’s quiet enough to relax and have a pleasant conversation. And the food is very good. Nice wine selection.
