Food was overly salted, in general. Also, we found the salad had way too much dressing. Decent wine list and excellent service. I think the food holds this place back...
Our waiter was very accommodating. The mussels and wine were delicious. My date had an old fashioned which was watery, but they remade him a new one at no charge. I had the New York strip steak, which was an excellent cut of meat, but it was incredibly salty and very undercooked. They cooked it longer— it was still not quite done enough. You couldn’t eat it without the potatoes because of the amount of salt. The asparagus was also very salty. My date liked his salmon. Our waiter offered us dessert on the house for the mishaps. It’s a shame because some things were very tasty and they tried but it was not even close to being worth what we paid.
We came here for New Years Eve two years in a row (and a couple of times between) and never are disappointed. The food and service are wonderful and the price point is too. Love this place and will be back soon!
The food was great, tried the black bean fritters as an appetizer and was blown away in how good they were! Can’t go wrong with any of their steak options!
The French onion soup was fabulous! I will be back for it!
Went for my birthday and had an amazing experience! Excellent food, service, and wine that I would recommend to anybody!
Always awesome service and feel like family there
Food was excellent! Service was very good too. Will be going back to try other menu items.
We were in town for the Cowboys game. Has breakfast before. Don’t remember our servers name but she was absolutely amazing!!
Food and atmosphere are good but the poor/slow service is a deal killer. First time trying spoon and cellar. We arrived at 7:25. Drinks came at a reasonable timeline and specialty drink was good. Ordered Soup and Salad when drinks arrived and that’s where it went south. Took 37 minutes to receive the soup and salad and the server either forgot to put the order in or was that unorganized. Either way he stumbled through an apology and walked away. He came back 15 minutes later and took food order. Main course did come out quicker but by this point we are 75 minutes in. We noticed the manager (who never came to our table) apologizing to more than one table in the restaurant for slow service. If you have two hours to eat dinner I would recommend......first time is the last time. Guess there is a reason they always have open reservations on the weekend.
Wonderful evening. Best kept secret in town.
Our server was very kind and helpful. The food tasted amazing. The atmosphere was quiet and laid back.
had a great time
great meal with great service
clean and friendly staff
This place is a hidden gem! I never see very many people in there on the weekends, but the food is great and the atmosphere is just right for a nice evening out. I hope they continue and grow their weekend business.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Will return.
Spinach & Artichoke Dip was to be served with grilled flatbread, instead, it was served with salted pretzels sticks, and when I asked if this was correct our server told us yes despite what it said on the menu. The Chicken Marsala was very bland, but the garlic mashed potatoes were very good. The young man who was refilling waters throughout the dining room was spilling it throughout the dining room as he went from table to table. He was swinging the pitcher as he walked from table to table. A much different experience than when we came here the first time!
Great service!!! The ambiance was amazing. Me and my wife enjoyed our meal and we'll be returning.
We had a very nice dining experience at Spoon and Cellar. The restaurant itself in its appearance is worthy of a fine dining establishment. This was backed up by the food we ordered (salmon entree) and the chocolate tart dessert which was well presented with vanilla ice cream on the side along with blue berries and strawberries. Everything was delicious. Our server was very cordial and checked on us from time to time. Certainly would recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the future.
We hadn't been downtown much in the time of Covid, and it was great to experience one of our favorite downtown spots. The food was as good as always, and they did a great job of implementing Covid precautions so everythings seemed clean and safe. We chose to sit outdoors on the sidewalk patio, and we will definitely feel comfortable coming back for indoor seating during the winter months. THANKS S&C!
We love the food and the service. The drinks are great, and the music keeps your feet tapping. You definitely need to check this place out!
The wings are exceptional. It is a wine and wings type of stop. It is a lovely atmosphere for a lunch and for a light dinner.
I want to start off by saying the server we had was awesome her name was Amanda and this is in no way a reflection of how great she was!
I had a 7:45 reservation to take my boyfriend out for Sweetest Day we were first time patrons & the other reviews I had read made this seem like it was going to be a good choice my boyfriend ordered the blackened chicken alfredo & I ordered the New York Strip medium well it took a while for the food to come out but this was a Saturday night so I gave that the benefit of the doubt, his food was great my food at best was lukewarm & the steak was overcooked I brought it to Amanda's attention she immediately went to replace it unfortunately I was told by the manager five minutes later that they were OUT of steak he also apologized and asked if I could pick something else off of the menu which I did I chose the Chicken Marsala that came out about 25 minutes later it was "good" I had had several cocktails since we were waiting so after a few bites I asked the manager if he could box it up & if I could have some additional potatoes along with it 5 mins later he brought me a small container of potatoes but did not return with the remainder of my chicken marsala🤷🏾♀️ I find out from Amanda 10 minutes later he "misinterpreted" what I asked for and threw it out so then I had to wait another 25 minutes to get a replacement chicken marsala🤦🏾♀️
The manager was apologetic but I doubt we will be coming back for a second wave of disappointment
This was a great date night! The atmosphere was really nice, and the food was amazing. The burger was amazing, especially with the goat cheese.
great night out, quiet but not empty
small menu but variety of options from sandwiches to pasta to steak
waitress was great! thanks Maddie
Always a great experience. Will be back very soon.
Food and service were wonderful! A true gem in Downtown Cincinnati. Quiet and private part of Downtown.
Had a very enjoyable dining experience. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Food was excellent as was the service.
the service was great and the food was outstanding. i really enjoyed the bar tenders seasonal coctail choices
e chose one place for restaurant week and were very pleased we chose spoon & cellar...it was great!
the food was very good. the cheesecake squares were very very good.
We went to Spoon and Cellar on a Saturday night because we had a coupon and it had outdoor dining. I was also interested in doing something for the downtown restaurant scene, which I know has suffered. S&C is located in the Holiday Inn, which wasn't a turnoff necessarily but I'm sure it puts off some. The ambience inside is nice and I say that because the "outdoor" dining was a set of two-top tables on the sidewalk. Seventh Street isn't particularly busy these days, but who wants to sit right on the street? So, we ended up inside the restaurant, which has a pleasant modernistic feel. We waited at the front desk for at least five minutes before someone showed up to seat us. Interestingly, this person (I think it was the manager) wore no mask as she took us to our table. Later, I saw her serving food to another table - again without a mask. Now what you really want to know: I ordered a Caesar salad while my wife got the house salad. She liked hers - mine was bland, without the tang you expect, and sopping with blah dressing. We both ordered the salmon and it was nicely prepared with a side of rice and asparagus. The asparagus had been grilled and were cut too thin, so they laid there in the plate looking burnt and lifeless. I had to ask twice for my wine, but I got it with my main course and it was fine. We decided to go for a dessert so we asked for the bread pudding. About 10 minutes later, the waiter returns to our table and tells us they've sold the last of the bread pudding so we were getting "a surprise from the chef". We ended up with a light and fluffy cheesecake (which was on the menu and we'd passed it up) and a scoop of their house blueberry ice cream. It was OK but we wondered why the waiter hadn't returned to tell us our dessert choice was sold out and given us a second chance to pick from the menu. The good news was, they comped it. Maybe they're still getting their legs, but there are better downtown restaurants.
Food was great and service was very nice prompt and ready at the right time
The food was great 👍
We didn’t realize they were not doing brunch, which was disappointing. Nothing on opentable or Spoon and Cellars website indicated that the brunch menu was not available. We also felt a bit rushed. Food was average, on par with a Cracker Barrel. The bottomless mimosas were a good value
Wonderful food and service. I had the salad with salmon on top. Amazing!
Service was amazing and food was great. We were there for a girls night out and staff was personable. .
Food and service were top notch! I got the salmon and my husband had the chicken Alfredo both were very good. After dinner we shared the chocolate cake which was the perfect ending to our our meal. The Manager came by to to make sure we were enjoying our everything. We will be back!
Awesome cocktails! Bean and barrel is a must drink! The salmon was amazing!
Jeff is the best!!! He always has great service and that’s why we keep Coming back for our Friday Ladies Breakfast/Brunch!
