Great service and the food was amazing! I was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely go back! One of the best steaks that I have had in Cincy!!!
We ate here prior to seeing the show at the Arnoff. The food was extremely good and reasonably priced. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Our experience at this restaurant was very good. I will definitely be eating here again!
Food was very overpriced as well as the drinks. It was a nice enough place, but it just wasn't worth the price tag.
My family loved the restaurant. We especially enjoyed our server.
Great food and service consistently! Convenient location for dinner before a show at Taft Theater or Aronoff as well.
Our first visit. Great experience. James, our server, was eager to share his knowledge of the menu. The food was great. An elegant spot for dinner..
James was a wonderful waiter. We had a great meal and bottle of wine. Loved it all!
Decor was spectacular. Food was fabulous! Menu was very broad... 3 at our table - chicken piccata, turkey club & NY strip were the entrees.... all were perfect. We’ll be back!!!
This was my first time dining here and everything was great. Our server, James, was friendly, attentive, and full of information about specials and recommendations. I ordered the blackened scallops and loved them. I would definitely order them again. I found Spoon and Cellar on the Open Table app and definitely recommend going there to anyone looking for delicious food in a friendly and warm environment.
Went during brunch, food was good- a little on the warm versus hot side. The service got very rushed when the server wanted to cash out :(
When we arrived there was no one to greet us which was rather confusing. We got seated after speaking with the bar tender. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about their menu and new items. The Caesar salad is certainly a hit, plated in a way that wouldn’t be expected. I could also eat the pretzels everyday and never get tired of them. As for the steak burger, I wouldn’t say it was anything special but it was still good. Overall I would recommend it for a casual day out.
We had an 11 month old with us, and as soon as we sat down our server asked if he'd like fruit. Within a minute he returned with fruit for my son. We had a great experience!
Running late saved our table! Food was excellent and service was amazing. Got out in time to go to Cyclones game which was right down the street. I will go again! Loved the place would recommend to anyone.
The food was pretty mediocre, and the place smells a bit like a campfire, but the service was lovely and its not ridiculously expensive.
My wife had the chicken piccata and she absolutely loves it. I had the filet unbelievable
James was our waiter and he was excellent made sure everything was above and beyond. We have been talking about it non-stop.
Not being there before and after this experience we will be back many times with friends
The Caesar salad was outstanding -- very interesting variation. Steak was perfectly cooked. Loved the Brussel sprouts! Wait staff was very knowledgeable with just the right knack for being there when needed without hovering. I will be back
Perfect location for a business lunch. Service was spot on!
I can’t say enough about the service. Really great. Food was good too!!
The steak was horrible. Over cook , ood, burnt, really bad. The Brussel sprouts were burnt tona crisp. The mash potatoes and macaroni were good.
Second time dining here; second perfectly cooked steak and salmon. This is my new favorite spot!
This restaurant is part of the Holiday Inn hotel. There was no mention of that anywhere in the write up or description of the restaurant. The menu looked good and very reasonably priced so I booked it, thinking I was going to try a new restaurant downtown, I was extremely disappointed when I arrived and realized that I was eating in the Holiday Inn! I felt like I had been tricked. I'm sure it's a perfectly fine option if you're a guest at the hotel, but I live in Cincinnati and wanted to explore a cool new restaurant in my city, not eat in a Holiday Inn!
I'm not trying to criticize the restaurant itself. The décor was nice, it was clean, the staff was attentive. It just wasn't what I was going for and I felt misled by all the descriptions. We stayed for one cocktail (which was delicious) and then ate dinner elsewhere.
The restaurant itself was fine. Service was as good. The chicken piccata dish that I ordered was so bitter, I could hardly eat it. It had capers on it, but it was the sauce that tasted so bad.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Friendly, helpful staff, great atmosphere and the food was extraordinary!
I even jokingly requested a photo of Jeff Goldblum be at my table when I arrive and they delivered! Speechless!
My wife and have eaten here a couple of times and always with very good results. It is SUBSTANTIALLY better than you might expect from a restaurant in a Holiday Inn. Very well prepared food (we have had steaks, scallops, salmon) that was expertly prepared and presented, the wait staff is well trained and professional and the atmosphere is relaxing. I highly recommend it.
Great service... casual environment
Gary was the best! He gave us our space to enjoy our night out together but was also attentive. Thank you!
Awesome customer service and were attentive that we had hockey tickets and needed to get to the game.
It was a great place to have dinner before a show at the Taft. Our server took care of us so we were on time for the show.
Good location and easy to get a reservation. Decor and feel of the restaurant was great. Service was good and they were very accommodating to get us served in a timely matter so we could make it to another commitment on time. Food was good, but just nothing extraordinary. The whole experience was perfectly pleasant, but nothing stood out as ”great.” For a hotel restaurant and a quick nice dinner when time is an issue, it’s a very good option!
We found this beautiful place because of it’s proximity to the Taft theater. It is also close to the Aranoff. The whole dinner was fabulous with wonderful seasonings.
We started with the delicious spinach and artichoke dip which is several notches above the rest. My husband had the grilled Caesar salad which he found unique and delicious. We sampled steak, pork chop and scallops all very well prepared. If course we didn’t skip dessert. The bread pudding and chocolate cake were to die for. We will definitely be back. FYI, there was a large bar area just waiting for foodies.
Great experience all around. Filet was delicious.
Good food, good service! The wait staff was very informative and friendly
Wow! We were pleasantly surprised by the food and value here. Steak and salmon entrees were both cooked to perfection, and you cannot beat a dry aged NY Strip with potatoes and brussels sprouts for the menu price (currently $39!). I would definitely recommend this place.
We always have a wonderful time at spoon and cellar. The service is excellent as is the food. You can’t beat their happy hour prices. It is the best kept secret in Cincinnati. We always go there before a show at the Aronoff. Thank you for providing great Food and great service
What a great find. Everything was more thsn expected. A place that I have already recomend and a place that we will visit agsin.
This was a meal before a concert and we loved we picked this place- Casey was terrific and the food was excellent, the location very convenient to get to from I71 and no issues with finding a parking spot. I had the Diavolo scallops and shrimp (on Casey's suggestion) and I thorughly enjoyed it. While they have a limited vegetarian selection, the chef can make almost any dish into a vegetarian version which was very helpful to my dining companion. We will be back...
Waiter was very odd and did not provide the best experience. Manager was extremely nice. Food was simply ok.
Perfect location if you're going to see a show at the Aronoff. Food was wonderful. Nice size portions. We were there on a Friday evening and they honored happy hour pricing in the restaurant area, most establishments will only do that if you're seated in the bar!
The sesame tuna salad was delicious and the service before our show was quick. Our waitress made sure to get us out on time.
