My husband and I had reservations for a Valentine's day dinner. Upon arrival, we did have to wait a bit past our reservation for seating as they were very busy. We were staying in the hotel so we just went down to our room for about 15 minutes. The staff were very kind and thankful for our understanding and we felt very appreciated which overshadowed the wait time.

We were seated in a very romantic and private lounge area. We did wait a bit for service once seated, but they were quite busy. The drinks were delicious and the food overall was great. Our burgers were a bit underdone, and I'm sure the staff would have remedied this if needed but we didn't want to be a hassle. Overall, would recommend especially if staying in the hotel. We also ordered breakfast the next morning which was also delicious but felt like it may have been a bit overpriced for the amount of food with each dish. Still a great dining experience and atmosphere!

Made Valentine's Day reservations well in advance, but was seated on cushions in the waiting area for dinner. Even though tables opened up, our hostess was perfectly happy to leave us there, even after we had asked to be reseated. It took us fighting with the manager to get a table large enough for two dinner plates -- not a good start to a romantic dinner!

Cocktails were good, the food itself was tasty, and the waitstaff were all very nice. Windows have a pretty view of the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial, and it's a nice enough looking space. If you are offered a table, you might have a nice time! But then you might get stuck in the conference room like another poor couple we noticed -- you'll be rolling the dice.

This is the best restaurant within walking distance of Pitt. We have eaten there over a half dozen times, breakfast, lunch and dinner. None of us have had a less than excellent experience. The avocado toast is fresh and delicious. The burger is perfectly cooked and the grilled chicken BLT is very, very tasty. The best part of all are the French Fries with garlic aioli! Nice hot, well seasoned with the garlic aioli is worth the trip.

Chef Jessica Lewis has truly captured the essence of fall with a very well planned brunch menu! The short rib hash was fall comfort food at its finest, and the house made strawberry/cherry jam made every bite of my toast a mouth watering treat for my taste buds. As a self professed desert junkie, I had to indulge myself in the Spiced honey cake...as well as the almond cake. It was a wise move. The apple/pear syrup, combined with the freshly whipped cream and the pecan praline crunch, balanced the gentle spices of the gingerbread cake. Pair this dessert up with an incredible cup of La Prima drip coffee, and you have an absolute match made in Heaven. It may have been the best cup of coffee I have ever had. While to full to tackle the Almond cake, I saved that for later, and it made for a nice afternoon pick me up. Honey caramel, orange and sea salt may be my new favorite combination. I must confess that I scraped the entire bottom of my take out container, making sure to capture every bit of that succulent glaze. I am looking forward to my next trip to the "Burgh, as I will be staying at the Oaklander, and eating every meal at Spirits and Tales. Bravo Chef Jessica! Bravo.

AH-MAZ-ING! Wow - my husband and I are still talking about the food -- soooooo good! We started with the crab mac and cheese. We have had this dish in many restaurants, but this was so good with nice pieces of crab throughout. The star of the show was the roasted truffle chicken my husband ordered. OMG! It was the best roasted chicken we ever ate, EVER! We have talked about that chicken for the past 3 days and can't wait to go back and BOTH order it! I had the Pumpkin Spaetzle and it hit the mark for this pumpkin lover. Our server, Aurora, suggested the Apple Cider Mule which was sublime. We finished our meal with the Almond Cake and could really taste the orange. It really made this dessert sing. Chef even popped out to see how we enjoyed the meal - so cool! Everyone was socially distanced and the staff wore gloves and masks. Our server was very attentive and helped us make great selections. We cannot wait to return for dinner and we hear that their brunch is a treat. This is now our new go-to spot!

We ate here twice for connivence reasons only

We will not eat here again for any meal for any reason

We had dinner here my first night in town and my son ordered a 14 ounc bone in fillet. It cost $72.00 It was literally laughable. It took everything I had not to call waiters over to take it away. My son gets embarrassed and I was visiting him at Pitt and just wanted a nice time So I did nothing. I will be emailing the restaurant manager because what they served him was ridiculous. The bone must have weighed 12 ounces of the purported 14ounce fillet. There were the thinnest 4 pieces of grisly meat a bone. The plate was 80 percent filled with French fries. He ended up eating two protein bars I had in the room he was so hungry. My Bronzino was just ok nothing worth noting.

We also had breakfast, again for convenience but it was not convenient -it took forevvver to get our food and of course it was very expensive and nothing great. Hindsight it would have taken less to time to walk to Pamela’s, wait 30 minutes for a table, eat and be done to watch the football game and cost us $100 less.

Do not eat here!!!!
