Great food. Loved sitting on the street. Server was wonderful. 5 stars.
First class food and service. Covid precautions were strictly enforced in a way that was both graceful and professional.
Servers & staff were rude and combative, they add an automatic 20% gratuity in tax and alcohol which feels like robbery especially if their service was bad. The food wasn’t worth the expensive price, at that price they should be bending over backwards to making customers happy.
A wonderful experience. We've been to this restaurant before and we shall surely return again. The pandemic may have set them back a little, as it did for everyone, but they've returned in fine fashion.
We’ve been to Spinasse several times and have had a fantastic dinner every time. The food and service is impeccable even during the pandemic. We cannot wait to go back!
Covid protocols excellent. Staff very friendly, and knew the menu and the wines .
Sitting next to window was a little to cold and they could use Padding on the bench seats very uncomfortable
Spinasse always delivers an incredible experience and their attention to detail and the delicate flavors of their food haven’t been impact one bit by COVID challenges!
Hubby & I went last night for the 1st time, our server Kathleen was absolutely wonderful as was EVERYTHING about our dining experience. The nicest evening I’ve easily had in a year.
The food was beautiful & light yet both my husband & I left feeling very full & in a state of total food bliss. I could go on & on about how awesome the dishes were. I do want to note we chose to dine in during covid & this restaurant was the best I’ve seen with their protocols for not only keeping us safe but clearly they care about keeping their staff healthy & safe. Made me feel very good about giving them my patronage.
Id seen a review or 2 dinging them a star b/c the safety Protocols somehow impeded the patrons enjoyment of their dinner (strikes me as quite selfish). I found Spinasse made a lovely romantic dinner quite easy to achieve.
This is a 5 star restaurant in every way & we will definitely be back soon!!!
Came here at the recommendation of the friend saying it was the best Italian food outside of Italy, so my expectations were quite high going in.
We were given cold sliced bread and two long crunchy breadsticks to start. Feels sinful not to have the bread be fresh and warm and served with some nice olive oil at an upscale Italian restaurant.
We ordered the prosciutto appetizer, appetizer portions of the butter sage and ragu pastas, the capunet, and the tiramisu for dessert, and shared everything.
The butter sage pasta is the thing to get. The ultra-thin homemade pasta is not mushy at all, and the sauce was not too decadent; perfectly rich yet light. Perfection. The prosciutto was also great. We were told the $28 portion was suitable for 3-4 people, and it could have been (it wasn't "small" by any means), but my partner and I easily finished it between the two of us. The ragu pasta was just ok; a little lackluster on the flavor front.
The capunet also had wonderful flavor, but was certainly not sufficient to stand alone as a complete meal. I will admit that the meat was very tender and the sauce was delicious. But if I had just gotten this, I definitely wouldn't have been satisfied. Would have liked to have seen some kind of more substantial vegetable or carb on the plate to round it out, especially for $30.
The tiramisu was killer. It was small (came in a little clamp lid mason jar), but definitely one of the best I've had. And I'm a dessert FIEND.
As for ambiance, I'm sad to say, I really would have loved the experience to feel more authentic. Nothing kills the vibe at an upscale place like hearing pop music on the loudspeaker.
Overall very good. But could have done with some better bread, better music, and more substantial mains if it was going to rise to the title of "best Italian food outside of Italy."
Everything was amazing. From the complimentary crostini with anchovies and unbelievable butter to the digestif cocktail after dessert, we were in heaven. I could just have the browned butter and sage pasta and broccoli and been happy, but we also loved the beef, ragu and kale. Simple foods executed perfectly with a little twist. I can't wait to go back.
Great to see Spinasse available for dining in again. The staff is wonderful, their Covid precautions are reassuring, and the food, as always, was amazing.
I am so happy Spinasse is open again. Every meal I have had here has been exceptional.
Outdoor seating in windy 40 degrees with no heaters. Unbelievable.
Angela runs a tight ship and it's evident from her staff's attention to table service which is just the right attentiveness, to her chef's beautiful food creations. The restaurant has strict COVID-19 rules in place right now and we felt safe the entire evening. The only detail I will mention is to bring a blanket and/or very warm jacket. With their strict COVID rules, the front door is open and we were there on a chilly Sunday evening. That being said, we can't wait to go back! Thank you, Angela!
An old favorite. Just reopening for first time after November closing. Good to be back.
Great food, drinks & service. We were outside in a kind of tent arrangement, but there were heaters running, and we were never neglected by the staff, even though we were the only party out there.
Their food is amazing. I've been twice and both times their food has been high quality, rich, and savory. I highly recommend the butter noodles with sage.
They are handling covid procedures very well. We were asked to put our masks back on any time staff approached our table. The tables were spaced very far apart with a full height plexiglass barrier between tables. And even with this, we had a lovely dining experience. Delicious meal!
Wonderful service, delicious fare. Highly recommend.
Everything was great. Could have spaced out the food more though
Amazing experience at Spinasse per usual. Outstanding food, wine and service! They have some of the best precautions being taken with the pandemic; such as mandatory mask wearing when the waiter is present, increased distancing and plastic dividers between tables!
The Tajarin butter and sage is absolutely divine. I have never tried a pasta with such a nice flavor and texture. I’m highly recommending everyone here when they say they will visit Seattle. Service was just as good as the food.
Spinasse is one of our favourite restaurants. We went for my girlfriend's birthday -- everything was excellent, as we expected! The handmade pasta was delicious; both the tajarin and the cavatelli were top-notch. The desserts were quite good as well.
Delicious food and cocktails, wonderful space!
Great place and everything was amazing
Our experience was excellent, the pasta was truly amazing! My favorite was the the Tajarin al Ragu - amazing flavors!! Also, the beef cheeks were amazingly tender and decadent. The only thing that we didn't like was the cold air coming in from the front door being constantly opened and closed (We were seated just a few feet away). Wish they had a curtain or something to shield that. Otherwise, fantastic service and they took every possible safety precaution during Covid!
Spinasse is taking COVID-19 protocol and cautious processes very seriously, which is appreciated. Food and service was fantastic as always!
Outstanding food and very cautious with COVID protocols. The ragu and halibut were some of the best I've ever had. I'm not a food critic by any means, but this was one of the best meals I've had in Seattle.
Fantastic taste and we ordered almost everything on the menu. Will definitely be coming back!
This was the best Italian we’ve ever had! Absolutely outstanding.
Beautiful food, exceptional service and special as always.
Simply the best pasta in and around Seattle. Try to visit to Truffle season for the best ever!
Delicious food with a great atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Restaurant is set up in a way that gave us a sense of comfort while dining during these unusual pandemic times.
Just visited Spinasse for the third time in a year so this review is a culmination of all three experiences.
Oct 2019 was our first visit for our wedding anniversary. It fell on a Saturday so I made the reservation 6+ weeks in advance because it was near impossible to get a weekend slot! The meal was unbelievable and so memorable. The ambiance was romantic but in a rustic, cozy, and elegant way rather than a stuffy and uptight way. We loved the wine and cocktails and the ability to see past the bar into the kitchen where the pastas were being made. We had a beef bruschetta app with a fonduta cheese sauce that makes me salivate over a year later. The major bummer is the menu is seasonal so who knows if they will ever get it back?? Everything we had was SO delicious but the simple sage and butter pasta is the star. Tastes like grown up mac & cheese and we nearly licked the plate clean.
Jan 2020 we attended a private holiday party. It was gorgeous and intimate and the food was outstanding again.
Oct 2020 we visited again for our anniversary. A definite shift in ambiance with all of the COVID measures in place but we were just thankful to get to have a real date in a real restaurant. We came on a Monday and the vibe is much more casual (lots of walk ins) so it feels a bit less exclusive. My two disappointments were: no bruschetta option as a starter. We got the crepes which were great but neither of us is a big fan of mushrooms. We were also disappointed that one of the two veggie side options (tomatoes) were unavailable that evening, leaving only the kale. I normally am a kale fan but I'm currently pregnant and the baby inside me is NOT. So we ordered and extra salad which was good as well. Do not miss the beef cheek entree!
loved the vibe, service was very nice and the food was delicious
Great dining on the "patio". We had a sampling of several of the antipasti and pastas. The best pasta in Seattle; always freshly made and with mouth watering sauces. You can't go wrong here--everything is delicious.
Awesome restaurant, definitely best Italian in Seattle!
Spinasse is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. It is great for special occasions and all of the pasta dishes are phenomenal. I try to take anyone who is visiting from out of town.
Food was good but options are limited plus they didn't allow any substitutions even for food restrictions so I was only able to eat half of my meal. Service was poor largely due to hyper inflexibility. I won't return.
Best restaurant in Seattle, excellent food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend
