We did the menu and it was AMAZING. A bit surprised that they charge you for a birthday dessert when you're paying $150 per person, but not a big deal. Great food and great service.
Great food and great service. We started at a table in the street in a temporary seating area. That was okay except cars going past flapped the plastic curtain. If they or the city could slow down the traffic it would be a big improvement. When a table opened up on the sidewalk the manager moved us right away. We would go back in a heartbeat.
We went to Spinasse for our 11th anniversary and had a really lovely time. We always return here for the tajarin which i haven't found anywhere else. The ribbony pasta despite being so thin and delicate is still fairly al dente. I don't know how they do it but it brings so much joy. The tajarin alone is what brings me back again and again.
We also tried a salad with Dungeness crab and the squash blossoms and ended our meal with a lovely strawberry semifreddo with shortbread cookies to die for. Our wine and and after dinner drinks were via recommendations from our server and were excellent.
Spinasse was excellent as usual. The Tarjarin con Burro e Salvia is simple and fantastic. This time we tried the cavatelli with short ribs and we loved it. The milk-braised pork with hazelnut-semolina gnocchi and herbs was delicious with the hazelnuts adding the perfect crunch. For dessert we had the lemon tart with blueberries and it was the ideal blend of tart and sweet. Our server, Claire, suggested wine which went perfectly with our meal.
I'll definitely return - wonder ambiance, helpful service and delicious food and wine.
The amuse bouche was delightful, I may try a version of it in my own kitchen. Please never take the angel hair pasta with butter and sage off your menu - it would be my death bed request!
Very nice restaurant, very good food with a very complete italian wine menu and fantastic service from the waiter. Things to improve: i) the person that receives you when you arrive at the restaurant should be more kind, ii) the temperature of the wine was above the right level. In a nutshell, very good experience!
Service at the table was great but the host was unpleasant and uppity. We had a reso for 3 and had a last minute addition. The host said they usually cannot accommodate additions (a 3 group always has room for 4 on a table) and said they appreciate a call (which I had as soon as they opened). I called twice with no answer, left a message. I pointed to my number written down and he got a bit of an attitude with me. Also because we then had 4 instead of 3, we were told we’d have to be out at a certain time (which was fine). We were then shown our table outdoors; it was a 4 top with 4 place settings. Food was thoughtful and tasty but underwhelming for the cost.
SO OVERHYPED that halfway through the meal I thought I’d reserved at the wrong restaurant. Had the Dungeness crab salad, the tajarin with butter and sage, the tajarin with ragu, and the heirloom tomatoes. The crab salad was watery, flavorless, and completely forgettable. The excellent-sounding pastas were unexpectedly bland to start with and quickly grew monotonous. The tomatoes had no salt. Foodies, if you like flavors, this is not the place for you.
Highly recommend! The best meal I’ve had in Seattle.
Excellent service and the food was amazing. All in all a great experience.
Experience marred by unfriendly and unhelpful server. Not the experience I was hoping for.
Well worth the wait for a reservation. Food is served family style, which you will be thankful for as you get to sample every delicious item on the table.
Where to begin, everything from start to finish was fantastic. Friendly staff, knowledgeable server, and a quiet corner in capital hill. It was a perfect end to our trip in Seattle. The food was memorable, an experience my wife and I will remember for a long time.
Absolutely amazing in every way!
The food was par excellence; especially the pasta special and risotto. Overall we had a great experience here, 10/10 would eat here again.
Signature butter and sage pasta dish was delicious - light and delicate. Servers really help with descriptions and suggestions. We really appreciated that. Brisket appetizer and broccoli were also exceptional.
We loved Spinasse! The ambiance was lovely and relaxed, and our server was friendly and had great recommendations! The chicory salad, pastas, and pork shoulder were all delicious!
Donny our server was amazing!!!
Our waiter, Donny T, was fantastic. We were celebrating our 20 year anniversary and he did everything he could to help us celebrate. Wine glasses stayed full and food was great.
Outstanding food and service. Definitely not a cheap dinner but worth every penny. Our server was amazing, she had fantastic advice on what to get and was fun and professional. Definitely will want a reservation.
It was unexpectedly chilly for a summer night so the heaters were most needed! We each had a crab, cucumber salad; shared the pasta w sage and butter as well as the pasta with short rib sauce. Delicious as always!
Superb meal as usual. The service is marvelous too. Spinasse is our favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle. The quality of the pasta is not matched by any other place in the city.
Sublime, transcendent, ethereal, holy cow!
First, the staff is so intelligent and spectacular it reminds you how important comprehensive and attentive Service is to a special meal.
Second, the pasta constantly tries to steal the show. That’s almost impossible. Because the stuff on top of the pasta is outrageous in its own right. Sage and butter sounds like a simple combination but it’s one of the most compelling pasta dishes I’ve ever encountered. And if you leave without trying the Ragu, you’ve made a terrible mistake. I’m highly confident I hate anchovies but somehow I now love anchovies? You will understand what I’m talking about after you try the broccoli and Amuse Bouche.
Third, tiramisu is underrated. Because it’s often done incorrectly. When a dessert chef hits the notes correctly, it’s an orchestra of sensations.
Fourth, without passionate people, none of this is possible. We all do something really well but isn’t it cool that we get to share the excellence of others who can do things that we can’t. When food is this epic, you wish you had more money and instant metabolism
Amazing food and such fine attention to detail. Will recommend.
Fantastic experience! We were dining in the new outdoor seating streetside, hence the mark of moderate noise. But Spinasse is exceptional and never ceases to amaze me, 10/10 would recommend to anyone anytime for an unforgettable selections of Piedmont specialties.
We ate inside. It was warm. The AC may not have been on. The menu is limited, but everything we ordered was excellent.
It was very nice and inventive. Nothing bad. Just not spectacular.
Spendy but good with decent service
Absolutely incredible food. Definitely recommend the bruschetta.
Incredible food. Incredible service. Will frequent this restaurant as much as possible
This is the one place I visit every time I come to Seattle. It never disappoints. If I have one critique, it’s that the portions on the tasting menu should be smaller. I was full after the pastas! But every dish was amazing.
Well crafted Piedmontese cuisine. Great service and lovely atmosphere.
It was a WONDERFUL dining experience! Great service from Jason, and every course was delicious!
Love Spinasse. The sage butter pasta must be ordered whenever you're there. We were seated at Artusi because the table they had reserved for us in the Spinasse dining room was near to the kitchen, and with the unexpected heat wave, may have been uncomfortable. Thank you for looking after us, Spinasse!
Fabulous food and service, completely consistent with every visit. Outdoor seating is a little tough as their is a lot of street noise.
Phenomenal service and, of course, even better food. Thanks for creating a great evening for us!
such great food and lovely service. servers were kind enough to thoroughly answer our questions about the menu
Excellent food and the service was awesome. Our waitress went over the dinner and wine menu with us in detail and was super helpful.
So yummy! Can’t wait to come back. 😊
