What Insiders Are Saying
Spinasse in Capitol Hill is one of the best fork-up-your-money Italian restaurants in Seattle.
Simple and casual and utterly delicious. Everyone knows about the tajarin with butter and sage yet it blows my mind every time. Don’t miss the rabbit meatballs either. Warm and perfectly competent service.
Fantastic Northern Italian wine list that pairs up perfectly with house made pastas. Not to be missed is the Sage Brown Butter Tajarin. Stellar service & informed pleasant staff.
Amazing! My boyfriend and I were visiting Seattle and this restaurant came up on the top of every list... so we tried it. We were pleased with the service-Bertram gave great recommendations. The food was incredible! We tried all 4 pastas. They do 1/2 portions so you can have a taste of everything. My favorite was the short rib pasta. My boyfriend loved the lamb ravioli. Perfection! Rabbit meatballs were very flavorful too. Definitely recommend!
I was blown away by the food here, went in expecting a great meal and got so much more, it was phenomenal!
Spinasse is by far our favorite Italian in the US. Their tajarine and agnolotti are to die for, all hand-made right in front of you. The wine list will inspire even the pickiest wine snob while cocktail bar always makes me happy with their excellent Aviation (you would have to ask for it). Menu changes all the time, so it's always a beautiful adventure going to Spinasse. Thank you!
Could have left Air Conditioner on
Server was helpful with wines
Stopped in here for our last dinner on our trip to Seattle and it was well worth the reservation! Amazing handmade pasta as well as delicious cocktails. Smaller portions, but really good food.
Love Spinasse. Food is amazing and the service is the best!
Made a spontaneous, late reservation (945 PM) here Saturday night while traveling with my girlfriend. We showed up early to see if we could be seated early or be sat at the bar. We were lucky enough to sit at the bar which gave us a perfect view of all the cooks going through the entire pasta-making process. The servers and bartenders were phenomenal throughout the night with great recommendations. We split an appetizer (Taleggio e nettarine), three pastas (Tajarin con burro e salvia, Cavatelli con brasato di manzo and the Agnolotti all'agnello) and got the Zuppa Inglese for dessert. Everything was sensational. Will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in town!
So delicious! Great service:) we love Italian food and this was amazing- loved watching them make the pasta by hand as we dined
Fabulously us as usual!! Still the best restaurant in Seattle!
Continues to be my go to when in Seattle, just amazing!
I love that it's fantastic food, thoughtfully prepared in a casual atmosphere. Great bar with 5-6pm happy hour in sister property next door. Excellent service. Great for special occasion of every day fare.
So worth the trip! We love visiting the Seattle area and we’re always looking for innovative cuisine. Spinasse fit the profile...and we’re still talking about our wonderful meal 3 days later. We started with the Appetizer Sampler, followed by Lamb pasta ( like mini ravioli) and morel mushrooms with pillow-like pasta, and for dessert the special was white choclote gelato with bits of coconut macaroons. WOW!
We had a group of 4, we tried 3 pasta dishes, 2 apps and 1 entree and all shared the plates. Fun way to taste many items on the menu. Service was great.
A little expensive, but the food was delicious!!!
The servvice was really good also...
Incredible pasta and tiramisu!
The handmade pasta is just perfect. The prosciutto is delicious. The server was on point. And the menu has changed since I last came to this restaurant, which Meade me feel sad they didn't have the veal appetizer I had last time, but made up with the tajarin pasta this time. The price is well worth it.
Delicious but way overpriced. The final course wagyu, fish and rabbit was a very disappointing note to end on.
No ac so quite uncomfortable until we were brought a fan. Small variety of dishes. With a steak for $60. I heard such great things about this restaurant, so I was quite dissapointed. What we ate was tasty (salad and pasta). The service was very good.
Back for the 3rd time, this place is simply outstanding.
This meal was one of the best in Seattle. Exquisite...no other words.
Second time to Spinasse and still delighted. The Menu Degustazione(aka "Eat the Menu") is a fantastic value and highlights the quality of the food throughout the menu. Service was perfect. We had a great time with friends.
Hostess was a little short which made some moments feel uncomfortable. Loved the food but because their food arrantly has a good reputation due to the butter sage pasta (as it should, it’s out of this world good), it may be the reason why it brings a certain arrogance with some of the staff members, particularly the hostess. But I get it, their job is to turn around tables as fast as they can and the restaurant is small. It was just awkward being a special occasion for us.
However, our server did make up for it though. She was helpful, funny, and very sweet! We would go there again.
We just hope that the hostess isn’t pushy about the time we need to be gone.
My birthday dinner was perfect!
Our waitress and the whole staff were so accommodating - we arrived late 15 min before close and everyone was so friendly! Recently went to Piedmont and their pasta Tajarin Ragu was the closest I’ve tasted to the real deal! Great job and thanks for a wonderful evening!
We did their chef’s choice menu, Menu Degustazione, and it was phenomenal. The food was fresh, seasonal and delicious. It is a lot of food but for $105/person you get to try everything on the menu. The service was great without being at all pretentious. Our water and wine glasses were always topped off and the food came out at a great pace.
I wanted something special for my husband's 40th birthday... Well I found it at Spinasse. I can't remember the last time I had an emotional experience with food. Our waiter was amazing and helped us create a tasting menu so that we could taste everything. He help guide us through the "must haves" as well as the "outside the box". The simple pasta with butter and sage was decadent. The pasta practically melted on the tongue and the light but creamy texture of the sauce was incredible. The Agnolotti all'agnello
(Lamb agnolotti with double brodo, marjoram, and parmigiano) was honestly one of the best things I have tasted in my life. The rabbit meatballs with polenta were also amazing and surprised my husband and friends since they had never tried rabbit. We finished with the Tiramisu which was perfection. I can't say enough about the service, ambience and food at Spinasse. I have a new favorite restaurant!
This place definitely lives up to all the hype. Make sure to ask for their dessert menu!
Great food and atmosphere! The pasta way especially good.
This was recommended by a friend and both myself and business colleague thought it was outstanding.
Split the prosciutto appetizer and candidly i have had my share of that at many fine restaurants and this might have been the best. Wow. Both of us had pasta dishes recommended by our waiter and again, they were excellent. Fine, all Italian wine listed priced somewhat fair, we had brought our own bottle which happened to be on the list at less than double the price.
I will be back, next time i am in Seattle.
Our server, Jean, was so on top of it. We felt so lucky to have such great service, and we'll definitely be back. In addition to Jean, everyone who came to our table was attentive and knowledgeable. Even though it was clear Jean was our (super great) server, we also got help and great advice from the whole staff. Shout outs to Mary and another gal (can't remember her name- or didn't get it) who recommended an affordable wine with great complexity.
Enjoyed the antipasto combo, pasta, and main entree. Excellent service and charming restaurant.
The food is amazing...! The options are less if compared with other restaurants. But this is the most authentic Italian restaurant I have been to. The pasta is freshly made and is the best I have ever had. They have a lot of wine options. They have an amazing desert menu. Do try their Tiramisu. You will not regret it! Its perfect for a date night. I was celebrating my anniversary and this was the perfect restaurant.! So romantic.! The service is excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
PS: The portion is a bit less than other restaurants. This is because they have a 5 course menu(including the desert), and have arranged portions accordingly.
We enjoyed delicious food, lovely service and a delightful experience. Spinasse is now my (Italian) mother's new favorite restaurant!
The food was Amazing! We went to Pink Door the night before, and as far as Italian goes, this was way better!!!
We have enjoyed many meals at Spinasse but we decided that this time we would try the special where you get a taste of pretty much everything on the menu (appetizers, pasta and main courses). We weren't sure what to expect but it was just so wonderful. We were not rushed, we could take our time and each course was so delicious! We got to try things that I would have never thought to order (fried stuffed zucchini blossoms, etc) because I am such a fan of the pasta and I am so glad I did. I think it opened up our eyes to so many different combinations that we won't be afraid to try a new dish next time we return. Thank you for a very special evening...
We loved this place. great food, in an unpretentious restaurant. We had three different pasta dishes, each better than the last. Simple but incredible angel hair with garlic, butter and fried sage, tiny raviolis stuffed with lamb, and an amazing pasta with cream sauce and Morel mushrooms. All three are on my top ten pasta dishes ever. The pasta itself is the star here, the sauces are icing on the cake, but make no mistake, Spinasse knows how to make perfect pasta.
Always wonderful and professional
Delicious food but expect to spend some dough. Well worth it, though. House made pasta is excellent. The bruschetta was wonderful— fava beans and a fried egg= perfection. Service was exactly as we like it, attentive but not overbearing. I’d recommend for adults and families with older children. Not really for the young ones, which is fine by us!
