About Spiga Ristorante
Benvenuti a Spiga Ristorante, where you will enjoy traditional regional Italian cuisine. By day, Spiga is a casual trattoria, serving simple fare like wood-oven pizza, savory risotto, and hand-crafted panini. By night, copper silk drapes, white linens and shimmering sconces bathe Spiga in a romantic glow. Dine indoors or out, on our sunny, landscaped patio. As in the Italian countryside, ingredients are all produced in house, from the crusty breads and infused oils and vinegars to the handcut pasta. This is big city dining in a comfortable suburban setting.

Spiga Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The food was once again amazing, but in contrast to our previous visit, service was not on par. The maitre d' was not paying attention to details of my reservation request, and our server disappeared midway through the evening and was replaced by someone else without a word or introduction. We wound up with the feeling of not "belonging" under anyone's attention.
Took girlfriend for her special b day the other day. Sat inside most people sat outside. Shared salad and pasta dish. Waitress was very quick/ not friendly and didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink etc. After dessert she never came back I had to get up to tell her I wanted check and had been waiting a long time etc. There was only one other table occupied at this time!Salad / dessert were good ,pasta was very salty too much butter/ oil!
We enjoyed our meal although it was small portions for a big price in Needham. The restaurant is small but it's nice because you can have a conversation without straining you ears. The service was almost too fast. We felt like they were rushing to get our order and get the meals out. Our server although efficient never smiled or indicated that she cared.
Spiga serves interesting interpretations of classic Italian food, excellently prepared. It's a fairly small restaurant, and the atmosphere is relatively formal (though not extremely so). Service is attentive but not intrusive. All in all, it provides an extremely pleasant dining experience.
We have dined at Spiga many times and every time we love it. The pastas are delicious and I especially love the chicken dish. In fact, it may be the best chicken I have eaten in a restaurant! (including the legendary chicken at Hammersley's in the South End) Great caprese and caesar salads! Best bread pudding for dessert. Lovely waitress, too. Cute, cozy restaurant with a nice patio in the warmer weather. Highly recommended.
Latest trip was a business lunch. I had the risotto special. Best meal I had last week. It's an odd location, but they do their best to make it look and feel special. The staff seems smart and attentive, but miss basics from time to time that are surprising for a group that are obviously professional (no/little ice in iced tea, no water refills without asking). They're quick to address your needs, but I have to ding them just a little. Oh, if Spiga reads this, it would be great to have salt/pepper on the table so i can season the dipping oil.
Slight hit on service and location/ambience. Otherwise, fantastic, unequivocal favorite.
Wonderful find (the restaurant is off a main road and easily missed) My wife raved about her Eggplant dish- layers of eggplant, mozzerella in a pastry shell-best she ever had. I had the gnocchi with the duck ragu- very tasty though I could have had twice as much.
We will be back- the outdoor patio looks very inviting
I love Spiga but it's gotten quite expensive. The specials were $24 and $35 for a pasta special which was spinach ricotta fritters (delicious) and a mushroom risotto with some overcooked sliced steak on top. The wines by the glass start at $9 and there are few at that price. Too much for a neighborhood Italian place I think. I love it, but I'll think twice about going there again soon.
Spiga is a cute restaurant located on the Needham/ Newton line. It is located in a very convenient location. The Caesar salad was outstanding, and so were the white bean dip and the white beans that accompanied the steak. The sirloin steak, however, was just okay.
We had a very nice meal here Saturday night. Our table was ready right on time, and service was outstanding all evening. Our food was excellent. Classic Italian dishes with flair, and an intimate setting make this a nice evening out with another couple because conversation is easy.
