Spiga Ristorante was incredible, the food was amazing, the ambiance was perfect, the noise level was low. Beautiful restaurant , makes you feel like your Italy, Chef Marissa's cooking is absolutely magical
I love this Restaurant and the people that work there. It is always a wonderful experience, and they were most attentive to details. Francesco as host is spot on, and very welcoming. Angela our waitress couldn’t have been more charming.
My girlfriend had never been here, and she was so impressed. Her best meal in years.
Needless to say, our whole night was perfect.
Thank-you, and we will see you soon.
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Great wine list. Good service-very attentive. Tables are a little close together.
Every staff member we interacted with was professional and extremely friendly. The food was EXCELLENT. This is a hidden gem and we will definitely return. So cute inside and though we didn’t eat “al fresco” it seemed like a really nice option as well. We particularly liked the mozzarella with pistachios, the squid ink risotto, and the famous bread pudding. Loved Spiga!
Great food and atmosphere at this hidden gem! Definitely worth trying. I did and now I keep coming back!
Very good for a business lunch.
We ate outside --- it was so delicious and so peaceful. It is a real treat to find a quiet restaurant (outside) with great service and yummy food.
The food was good, service was very good, however the place is crowded, my chair backed right up to one at the next table. Just to tight, I felt stuck in and a bit claustrophobic. I’d go back but request another table and see if we liked it better.
The house cured cod was very good! The wine selection was good, we found a nice white and were able to get it by the bottle or by the glass. We made the mistake of choosing a mussel and clam appetizer that was very similar to our main meal, seafood with lobster tail, so we'd make a different choice next time. I'm not sure what was in the dish with the olive oil for the bread - maybe humus? - but it was very good. And the tiramisu was delicious!
Table not ready on arrival despite reservations. Took about 15 minutes.
Always excellent! We've been coming for years and the food and service are always impeccable. Spiga has the friendliest and most accommodating wait staff in Boston. This time, we had a delightful conversation with owner/chef Marisa about our meals and her native Abruzzo, where a friend was born, and she sent us a delicious complimentary chocolate torte to end our visit. Molto bene! Squisito!! Grazie, Marisa!
Beautiful setting with delicious selections. Bruschetta was outstanding.
One of our favorite date spots. Delicious food, fine service- just wish it weren’t so jammed and packed with tables
Found the veggies with the chicken under a brick to be tasteless mush. Usually thoroughly enjoy our dining experience, but
It was disappointing tonight. Took so long to get attention of staff to get parmigiana cheese. No one seemed to look towards the diners! Not whatcwe expected!
Birthday but waitress did not bring candle as requested and forgot to give us our take home bags
She was not apologetic
Fabulous food and service!
Spiga is a go to restaurant for me whether it’s for a business meal or a friend’s get together. Food and service are always great. Menu selections is awesome. Everything is fresh and healthy. Location convenient for people coming from the city or the suburbs. Love it
We sat outside with a heater and it was lovely. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. For some reason there was no designated bartender so there was a very very long wait for cocktails to arrive. Wine came right away as our waitress could serve the wine. The food was bountiful. Two of us had the branzino which was good. Not highly flavored but good. One of us had the black ink pasta with salmon also good. No dessert. We’ll come back.
This restaurant is tucked behind a nail salon on a very busy main road. Inside it looks posh and lovely. The curtains are always drawn because the view is terrible. The service is excellent. The food is delicious but OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. For the two of us (one salad each, one pasta dish each, one glass of wine each) the bill came to $138 before tip! On a Tuesday night. That’s date night money. Ridiculous.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and mostly service. This is truly a hidden gem, we're glad we found it.
The food, atmosphere, and service was outstanding! We will definitely be back again soon!!
Great spot with great authentic Italian food. Loved the menu and lunch was perfect. Thank you!
This was our first visit to Spiga and was a delightful surprise. We have spent a lot of time in Italy for work related reasons, frequently for 1 to 2 months at a time. This transported us back to our treasured Meals in Italy. This was the first night their outdoor patio was open And was intimate, magical. The food was spectacular. Our server and the chef are both from Abruzzi and were very personable. We plan to take Italian friends their next opportunity. The stuffed squash blossoms, Veal chop, and handmade pasta were great
Terrific food and service. Unfortunately they crammed more tables in there after the remodeling. Noise level way up and you feel like your sitting in you neighbor’s lap. The food and service make up for most of the discomfort but please, remove some tables!
My husband and I were visiting the area from out of state and were lucky enough to find this gem! From the moment we walked through the door it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
We were pleasantly surprised. Lack of descent suburban food is one of the big disappointments I have living in MA. Spiga was a legitimate restaurant outside the city. Flavorful, generous portions, unique dishes. My wife is Celiac and the waiter knew all about it and made sure everything we ordered was gluten free. Perhaps I am a traditionalist but not every dish on the menu needs to be so exotic. Good food is good food.
Staff was very friendly. Food was good but to expensive !
I cannot believe that this gem of a restaurant is hidden away in a corner of Needham, so close to me. The food was outstanding. This is the kind of meal that I routinely go to Boston for. The service was perfect. It was truly an authentic Italian place with lots of strong accents amongst the staff. I will definitely be going there again and will highly recommend it to my friends.
Outstanding Northern Italian restaurant with excellent salads and truly outstanding ribeye steak, melt in your mouth flavorful prime, better than almost any steakhouse. Only disappointment was the pasta with clams and mussels which was not flavorful although there were plenty of bivalves. Highly recommended.
We were sending our youngest daughter off before she returned to graduate school far away. We had a superb meal, which rivaled many we have had in Italy. We have always loved this place, but this meal was special and surpassed our expectations. The waitress was wonderfully warm and attentive without being intrusive. The food was just fabulous. In addition to tasting good, it was wonderfully presented. Everyone just swooned over their food, and each plate was beautiful. We also had an excellent bottle of wine which we splurged on. It was expensive, but worth it, which can be a rarity. We all had such a good time that we decided to make this our place for special family gatherings. Well done!!
I love Spiga! The food is amazing. The service incredible! Chef’s creations continually amaze me!
Fantastic all around. I could have used a blue cheese olive for my martini but other than that very insignificant detail it was a flawless encounter.
I made this reservation to celebrate a 70th birthday. The restaurant host was very gracious to us, speaking in Italian with the guest of honor, who loves speaking in Italian. We shared a bottle of rosé sparkling wine with our first course, which was excellent in each case. Fore the principal course, two of us had their roast chicken with vegetables. It was probably the best tasting chicken I have ever eaten. It was tender and juicy. Even the white meat was juicy. It was perfectly seasoned and the sauce was excellent. Our other guest had a shellfish dish He said it was also excellent. They allowed us to bring a small birthday cake I had purchased. With it we had some of the best coffee this side of Italy. The server was also very charming. For a special occasion this is our favorite place to eat.
Have been to Spiga many times before and enjoyed the meal. Our meal was pretty bland and uninteresting. I hope it was just an anomaly.
Always nice to go to Spiga, food is delicious and the people that work there are awesome 👏
The ambiance was very nice and the service was excellent. We could talk and hear each other. We had the cod appetizer and thought it was very good, however neither of us liked our main courses (a lamb special and the seafood bolognese). Maybe their red sauce dishes are a better bet. We also thought the cocktails were on the skimpy side. Wine pours were decent. There is an outside seating area would be really nice in the summer.
I chose this restaurant because I was around the area and they have a patio, but at the time we arrived it was too windy to sit out... My mom ordered a special with salmon and the server forgot to tell us that the salmon would come a little bit undercooked (which is the way the chefs like to serve it, but not everyone is a fan and not everyone knows about it) so I was a little disappointed that she didn't warn us. Apart from that, the rest of the things were good. Really nice ambiance and all, a little bit overpriced, but not too bad.
Outstanding restaurant.....wonderful staff greets you from the moment you walk into the restaurant....ambiance is warm and welcoming.....could be dining in a little spot in Italy‼️ Consistently terrific food....this little gem never disappoints.
Finely crafted Italian fare in a quiet setting. Nice attention to the cocktails and plating. Highly recommended.
Had a 730 reservation, were seated around 815. They graciously gave us appetizers on the house but that’s a long wait when you book ahead. The pasta was great as always, server was friendly and knowledgable but also took a very long time to take our order and bring bread. Having to wait basically a full hour beyond your reservation time for a first bite of bread is not good service.
