Loved everything we ate. The food is well presented and very tasty as well. I look forward to having some of the other dishes next time.
The tables seem ok for an upscale place like this, that was something I noticed.
Awesome Food,, Enjoy a lot
My ratings are based on comparing the restaurant to other restaurants in this price category. Very unique twist on traditional Indian food, excellent presentation. Service, ambience and overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. More detee are lies review on Yelp.
The appetizers were good but the entrees tasted like frozen Indian food. I told the waitress when she asked how everything was but nobody did anything about it. It was a really disappointing experience.
The food is amazing. I have been to this place 4-5 times in the last 3 months and I have no complaints about the food.
But the only thing that is sad is, the service only got worse after each visit!
finally tried this place. food was good ! We were little disappointed in beginning as their famous vada pav was out of stock, but later food orders were great ! one of the worker Maria was also super helpful later .
it's different, and it's the premier product in the Silicon Valley market.
Worst restaurant experience ever in the Bay Area . We had reservations , and went on time . No one was around the front desk to check us in , waited for 10 mins before someone acknowledged we were waiting ( although staff kept walking by in all directions) . Same experience after we were seated. The sever came but before taking our order got distracted to attend to other customers. Food was below par for the exorbitant prices .
Please do not eat their chaat items ( total let down for any indian standard) . And to top it all we all landed with an upset stomach the next morning .
Definitely not expecting this from a fine dining restaurant
Food was overpriced and not that great. The presentation was amazing.
Nice ambience. Good service. Everyone was wearing masks all time. Patio and indoor both are open and pretty good. Food is good. Little creamy. The quantity is super less compare to the high price. Appetizer and deserts have good varieties and nice presentation. The curry are ordinary bit high price. It is good for occasional visit
I wish they would focus more on the taste than the presentation. Pricey but flavors were not worth it
Had a great time with family. We prefer Jain food and the taste was really great! Enjoyed all the courses of meal.
If you have had spice Klub in Bombay you'll be pretty happy with the one in bay area. If you've not highly recommend it. Feature dishes are the appetizers and desserts. Spend most of ur appetite on them. Dum biryani is also pretty good. Will definitely be back
Finally a restaurant of Mumbai standard in Bay Area. have been their Mumbai branch in lower Parel and love their appetizers , desserts and drinks. Definitely going there again to taste more ....
Too much emphasis on presentation but the food was mediocre.
Very creative food with excellent presentation. We had an enjoyable time. Highly recommended.
Desserts, appetizers and drinks very magnificent and unique.
Elegant, tasty and fun. We had a delicious meal. Loved it.
Wonderful food and ambience. 5 stars for everything
It was an average experience, won't consider going back for a special occasion!
I would not recommend getting an 8.30pm reservation, as they rushed us from the minute we stepped into the restaurant (even before asking us to sit) saying that the kitchen closes at 9.
Then the server grabs our plates even without checking if we are done with the meal (we had leftovers on our plate and the server just grabbed the plate as soon as we put the fork down, without even checking if we were done with the dish) - shocking!
Food was ok, have had better tasting indian fusion food.
Ambience was nice.
Overall, won't risk going back if the occasion is special as my husband's birthday dinner mood was completely ruined!
Ambience is good but taste is not. Service can improve a lot. Very expensive for the quality of food they serve. However, deserts are the best!
Good food, innovative cocktails and menu items. Meant jones it was our anniversary but didn’t get any special attention. In fact we saw them serving palate cleansers to other tables but they forgot to serve us.
Great food, service and ambience. Okhra dish was the best
Amazing gastronomic experience
All food items were perfect
We enjoyed our experience at SpiceKlub, loved every dish, whether Pav bhaji Fondue or Vada Pav, or Pani Puri with test tubes :) or Naanza. Every dish was exquisite. Not to mention the bubbling kulfi! Truly special!
It helps if you understand molecular gastronomy which Ferran Adrari made popular at El Bulli in Rosa's Spain. Foams, spherification, and so forth.
It's fun to play with your food despite what Mom said.
This makes deconstructed traditional Indian food very flavorful. And I had cilantro foam. Never say that before.
Great good. Good service. What else do you need?
Food presentation was very good. But did not impress us in taste. We ordered mango on the rocks, cocum margarita, kabab, mushroom kulcha, flower pot. All the dishes were fancy looking-instagram worthy. Taste wise cocum margarita tasted better but rest all were just Okish. Was very disappointed with the taste of rasmalai. Mushroom kulcha needed a binding agent to be able to eat with curry.
Tasty food and good experience with gastronomic food
Only presentation was very good but food tasted very very okish and drinks were not at all good... either too strong or too light. Not at all worth it
SpiceKlub came with strong reviews so we decided to try it out on a Sun afternoon. It is a spacious location (indoor dining not open yet) with plenty of patio tables, most with individual tent covers.
Service was scratchy at best - the host did not smile or welcome, just led us to our seats. The server was not particularly well-informed, nor provided any useful suggestions.
We ordered some small plates based on other reviews: Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri, Galouti Kebab and Kurkuri Bhindi. High marks for presentation and originality, but food taste itself was not extraordinary. Of these, Bhindi was the best, light and crisp. And Galouti (veg) kebab was quite substantial. Pav Bhaji was too cheesy and Pani Puri was average.
For drinks, we had the Empress, Jai Ho, Pink Plumeria and Rowdy. Empress came in an impressive hookah-shaped glass with dry ice and paan leaf. Rowdy came in a glass box with steaming chips. Again, presentation was excellent, but taste did not impress. Only Jai Ho had a distinctive tamarind flavor that teased the palate.
For mains, we had the Vegetables in Green Masala and Paneer Tikka Masala. Latter was disappointing with the paneer cubes being quite hard. Former was more impressive with its spinach-based bright green curry base, but corn in the vegetables was a downer.
For breads, we had the Mushroom Kulcha (too crumbly), Garlic Naan (too wispy) and Roomali Roti (too doughy).
For dessert, we had the Bubbling Kulfi and Flower Pot. Latter came in an edible chocolate pot with spade, with rasmalai inside -- quite the eye candy, but taste was average. Former had frozen bits of kulfi with toppings that had to be melted a bit before eating. Interesting experience, but kulfi flavor was dampened with the freeze and toppings -- would have tasted better by itself.
Overall, I am glad to see creative Indian cooking ("molecular gastronomy"), but at these astronomical prices (expect $80+pp), the taste did not match the presentation and cost!
Nice modern twist to Indian cuision. Very unique dishes and presentation and flavors. Great service.
They serve the kind of food that transports you to Mumbai, India. A menu so flavorful, creative, and delicious that you would have to go multiple times to taste everything on the menu! Every cocktail so carefully crafted and absolutely unique. Do not forget the excellent service and fantastic recommendations (thank you John, appreciate it!).
If you still aren't convinced then you probably don't like food. 🙌🏻
Great experience. Really enjoyed the taste of everything we had - Vada Pav, Chili Spinach Soup, Malai kofta, coriander rice, butter garlic naan & dessert volcano! Not your typical Indian place but the flavors were on point & food very enjoyable. Coming back again!!
Food was delicious and well presented. Service was also good.
The best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area!
Modern, experimental, delicious Indian food!
