One of the finest Indian veg restaurant in Bay Area with taste of Mumbai
Really terrible service, 1 hr long wait for food with the server forgetting to place our order until asked 5 times.
Servers kept on asking if we were done with our meals even when the food hadn’t arrived. They started cleaning while we were still sitting and eating
Excellent excellent excellent
We loved the place. The food was awesome. Loved the presentation!!
Furthermore extra points as the whole restaurant menu was vegetarian!!
Great food. We really liked all appetizers (veg) and non-alcoholic drinks.
Appetizers and cocktails were amazing! Definitely recommend this place !!
The service was courteous and what minor problems we had (the check didn't arrive, we had to go to the front desk to get it) can be attributed to staffing issues due to Covid.
The main dish was extremely salty for us, and we had to order a raita to reduce the saltiness. Other than the saltiness, the dish was good. The appetizers we ordered were good, but we found that the amount of "fillings" and "sauces" for the pani puri were mismatched for us. We had to order more puris (which were charged to us) and ran out of the sweet sauce.
The cost of a meal makes such imperfections stand out. While the molecular gastronomy stuff is unique, it didn't seem to add much in terms of flavour or texture, in the dishes we ordered.
Excellent ! We will be back !
Food was good and delicious. Service was slow. Definitely can dine once for the experience and if any special occasions.
Food was really yum ! Presentation was excellent.. ambience was great
They required Credit card for booking table which I have never seen in any restaurants. Also requiring $10 for cancellation per person seemed really absurd. Food was Okay. The Mumbai and Chennai branch was really good and my expectations were too high I guess.
They gave us a table closer to a bunch of 5 ppl who were extremely noisy and they were just 3’ distance between us. Did not seem like they followed COVID protocol for social distancing. They refused to give us any other table when there were lot of available space.
The guy who served was polite, good and did his job well.
We enjoyed the appetizers and desserts. All the dishes were very innovative.
The presentation of the food is creative and a fun experience and the dishes are unique variations which are quite enjoyable. The service is a bit slow due to staff shortages but if you’re there with a fun group for the evening the time passes quickly.
We had requested a special occasion dinner spent $300+ and they didn’t even had decency to bring a small dessert for birthday girl . ALSO my husband had given our cc for prepayment and told them to charge on the card so we don’t have to pay at the table . While we assumed that it was paid and we left the Resturant the hostess came and asked us why we didn’t pay!! It was very embarrassing in front of my family !!! The hostess was a bit rude , kept coming to us while we were still enjoying appetizers, to order dessert!! Not once twice 😏over all the waiters were very good but they need to do their homework and not be rude!!
Everything was good. But maybe space out the areas more during Covid or put the curtains so that outdoor dining has isolated spaces.
Nice Ambience, Good food, great plating and presentation. A bit expensive but good fora special occasion / evening out.
Great food and great presentation. Really enjoyed our meal.
A little pricey for the portions
Priced like a Club and has no spice in food.
We heard so much about SpiceKlub in Mumbai and went to checkout this place on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30. Placed our order for appetizers:
Kurkuri bhindi - amazing, must try.
Pani puri - for the ambience. The flavors lacked salt and the punch that comes with the famously loved Indian street food.
pav Bhaji fondue - was COLD. Felt like plain crouton pieces given with tikka masala sauce.
While the appetizers took 30 min to come, It took only 2 hours for us to get our main course. And had to repeatedly tell the staff to check on our drinks.
Drinks: AMAZING. Definitely worth the splurge
- Rowdy 16 : had a clean gingery Indianess to it.
- Old monk: the presentation was spectacular with the whiff of the smoky tandoor infused in the drink. Worth it.
- Kokum margarita: It has a sorbet consistency, is great with the flavor of chilli caviar.
Paneer lazeez: worth trying. On point with the flavors
Dal makhani: says it’s cooked for 2 days, but had no level of spice or creaminess. Was like buttered lentils overly soupy.
Mushroom truffle biryani- was below average. Had no spice. Raitha was good though.
Rumali roti- it’s more like a cold uncooked Frankie roti. Disappointed.
Garlic naan- great, melts in your mouth. Exactly how it should be.
Mushroom truffle naan - the Bajra flour with the overwhelming truffle ruins the experience.
Desserts: the most confusing aspect.
We ordered mango on the rocks for drinks but to us it seemed more of a dessert.
Bubbling kulfi - cute concept, but was strange to have the flavor profile of dipping dots kulfi with blueberry sauce.
Overall, can go for the drinks. Can skip the food. Get the bhindi.
One of a kind memorable experience. Great food, tasty, creative menus, unlike traditional Indian restaurant ( some standard fare available).
Probably the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area. It’s definitely the place to be to celebrate special occasions
Customer service was very poor. A dinner for two people took 3 hours.
We had very bad experience with the service. We had to call the server who won’t show up for next 15 min to remind him about the order. They were more busy in serving the people indoor rather than outdoors. Even to let them turn on the heater we had to remind them 4 times and after 25 min someone came to help us. We just lost our appetite completely. Even after explaining out frustration the manager was giving excuse that they are under staffed. Well it didn’t seem understaffed for people dining indoor and table right next to us where manager came every 10 min to chat with them and completely ignore us.
The food was excellent! Everything tasted amazing. It definitely was a bit overpriced. Seems that some of the staff is pretty new but they are very courteous and nice. The kurkuri bhindi goes well with the drinks. We had the bubbling kulfi for dessert - it was excellent! Would definitely go back!
Awesome Ambiance amazing food. Service was prompt!
Unique twist to indian food. Very good flavors and good slection of beer and beverages
Really happy with the food and overall service. One recommendation having mentioned the purpose for the visit was birthday it would have been good to have them ask if we would have liked to have a cake cutting or some celebration of sorts..
Our meal was very tasty and presented in a very special way. We ordered pani puri, paneer tikka, kebab, rumali papad and a few other items. The experience was worth trying.
Their presentation of thandai was very different than the traditional ones. The flower pot dessert was also very tasty.
We waited forever for our food. Food is expensive but very tasty. Portions are too small for take bond use.
Horrible service, average food.
Mother’s Day lunch. Food was okay, one or two standouts for taste, the rest were just normal. The Chili soup was great as was the deconstructed Waldorf. Generally okay from a service perspective, they were a bit short staffed but it didn’t feel that way.... we put in our whole order and it came out at a reasonable pace. The host asked us to limit our time to two hours (totally reasonable) but rushed us out as we were trying to enjoy a post meal conversation (still within our 2 hour limit) Also not the greatest crowd management inside. Lots of folks packed in a small entryway. So net, okay for one visit, likely a bit overhyped, probably won’t go back
Can’t say enough great things about this new incredible restaurant. Our food and service was beyond what we expected. The presentation and attention to detail was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back! Definitely going to be a frequent guest at this location. I highly recommend everyone to check it out!
Good food. Were cognizant about our allergy and spl food requirements. Good taste and vatiety and presentation.
Very good food. Great presentation. Nice ambience.
Recommend going here for a special evening.
Excellent Appetizers! Presentation and Taste gets a A+ rating.
Especially the Papdi chaat and Paneer.
Entrees were good, but not on the same par as the Appetizers!
Some of them are a bit too oily.
The food was tasty, the ‘molecular gastronomy’ inspired appetizers and cocktails were super fun and also really tasty! The host (Ruta) was very attentive and answered all our questions and made suggestions for us.
It was a wonderful experience and we’d love to be back.
Good vegetarian fine dine restaurant. Food was good.
Great service and nice presentation for food items!
