Amazing cocktails and food and more amazing staff
We had a get together with friends of Nyc and ordered the Chef Tasting.... amazing! We had the opportunity to try almost everything on the menu and the service is fantastic. One of my favorite places in Philadelphia
We enjoyed the Chef’s Tasting. Everything was delicious! The shisito peppers and the broccoli tabbouleh were outstanding as was the lamb shank. Our server, Lee, was attentive and friendly. A perfect spot for our date night.
Every time we dine at Spice Finch it is perfection.
The service is the best around and the flavors are so layered and intriguing.
We picked some plates to share and the server helped us decide on a few more. In total we had the trio of spreads, shishito peppers, roast cauliflower, and baked cheese.
We both had the hibiscus lemonade for a drink.
It was one of the best dinners I’ve had in years.
And don’t leave without the brownie for dessert.
Excellent food. Service was amazing, very attentive staff! Only downfall of eating outside for a couple is the tight table right next to the alley where there is busy foot and car traffic. The outdoor booths were cute unfortunately we couldn't get seated there cuz we were only a party of 2.
Excellent food - flavors were nicely balanced with sizes that allowed for a sampling of multiple plates even for a table of two.
Best friends celebrating all being together
Love this place . Perfect everytime ! Amazing food, service , and atmosphere!
Spice Finch exceeded expectations and provided us with a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We did the tasting menu and were taken on a fantastic culinary adventure. The creative and modern adaptation of Mediterranean cuisine at Spice Finch is well worth a visit and we'll be back again for sure.
While the food was great, the wait service was inattentive, forgetful and oblivious to how we were doing. They forgot drinks, serving utensils, and even to check on the food in a timely manner. It was a special occasion (Mother’s Day & separate persons birthday) and due the poor service it made for a very awkward & uncomfortable meal. My advice, if you are short staffed with wait people (which I honestly didn’t see that to be the case) , the managers and bus people standing around should jump in and help out. Overall, very disappointing!
The food was delicious and a good size for small plates (not too small, not too large.) The servers were attentive and the cocktails were really good too.
This was my second time eating at Spice Finch. The first was shortly after it opened. This was a difference experience since it was just me and 1 friend, as opposed to a large group, and because of the pandemic. We were seated in one of the outdoor sheds, which gave us privacy and was pretty quiet. We could hear the people next to us, but it was not as noisy as inside a restaurant. The service was good and the food delicious. I'm not an authority on Mediterranean cuisine so I ordered the tomatoes with harissa as an appetizer and the rubbed chicken entree. My friend ordered asparagus and the chicken kabob. We shared the warm olives. The spices were done well in my opinion, with everything very tasty. (I can't speak on the authenticity). I ordered a glass of white wine and decaf after dinner, and my friend drank a cocktail, which she said was very good. It's not a cheap restaurant, it was about $65 per person including tip, but the food is artfully prepared and delicious.
Food was outstanding - lots of small plates, many options esp veg. I made a mistake on my reservation and Mark, the manager, found seating for us outdoors anyway. He saved the day. Very enjoyable meal. Will return and recommend it to others.
Loved Spice Finch! Wonderful staff, great cocktails & food, attentive service. Did the tasting menu. So much food, but so good! Would happily return. Thanks for a great evening!
Delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommend their cocktails too!
Actually wonderful any time Date, special and business.
Daddy daughter night at 41. Love that there was inside seating as my Dad was getting cold at all the outdoor stops. We opted for the chef’s tasting and were amazed at the amount of food we got. (Might just want to slow down the procession of plates as it became a game of Tetris trying to make everything fit on those cute round tables). Every. Single. Thing. Delicious. Our server recommended a good cocktail and picked out a wine that went with everything. No small feat since there were so many different flavors going on. My Dad and I are very hard to impress food wise. We left a bit awe struck at the fabulousness. I was happy to have picked a place that gave him such a good experience in a city he has rarely visited. Recommended by a friend and I intend to return with others.
Good for everyday or special—food is outstanding—equally matched service— one of my favorite places in the city— Berbere crisps and shishoto peppers pare my favorites!
Best food in area
Services was great, but we were brought out an incorrect app twice. Everyone was very apologetic though and we appreciated that a lot! That aside every single dish was so flavorful, and perfectly prepared! Will be returning without a doubt!
Very authentic food and atmosphere. Outdoor seating is basically in the street and on a very small sidewalk so its not very personal.
Not what it used to be.
Great dining experience. The Fruit & Feta and Steak Kabob were the highlights. Cool as a Cucumber was delicious if you’re a gin fan like me! Great all around. Thanks to Phil for the great service and recommendations! We’ll be back soon.
Small, service, seasoning. We had a good dinner but that was it. Portion size was VERY SMALL ( except lamb shank), service was GREAT and seasoning was PERFECT BUT....lamb kebab was over rolled and the meat was a bit tough, shrimp was way overcooked to the point of being mushy, and the Steak kebab was served very well done. Carrot and cheese appetizers were yummy and drinks were good. Would have felt like we had gotten our bang for the buck if they did not give us ONE piece of bread with my shrimp dish and if there had been rice or a simple accompaniment. We have a gift card we have not used and will give it one more try. It felt like a very expensive meal for the portion size having just gone to Parc, Saraya, and Noord. We suspect the main chef was not present in the kitchen given the fact that all three entrees were overcooked or tough. Service once again was spot on and it was comfortable during a cool night. It just felt a bit like a broken bat single.
Absolutely delicious food , great indoor and outdoor dining .Always make the best Cosmo’s , am never disappointed here .
Fantastic dinner - so many interesting takes on middle eastern cuisine. Lovely generous service.
Totally screwed up order and forgot birthday celebration. Reminded three times and wait staff still forgot.
Very disappointed after visiting here several times pre Covid.
Loved the place! The tasting menu is a must if you want to have a perfect experience.
The only complain would be the time the waitresses took for the full service and they were a bit disorganized, it was not terrible, but could be improved
Great food and service. Very nice atmosphere. Attentive staff, would absolutely recommend.
The food is excellent. Fresh ingredients thoughtfully and creatively prepared. The service was poor though which really distracted from the dining experience. We were seated outside in a heated booth; it was chilly though and it would have been nice to offer lap blankets. The waiter did not come to take our drink order for 20 minutes after we were seated. We had to go inside and ask the hostess to send him out. No excuse for that in an upscale restaurant on a Wednesday night.
I’ve always liked this place and used to eat outdoors. Since they are opening inside u decided to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed. The dining area is beautiful, tables were socially distant, our server was impeccable, cocktails to die for, try the cucumber one and we order the chef selection for 3. We were able to enjoy and try so many dishes that I think is the best kept secret in Philly. Extremely satisfied and will be back!
the food is so good! Super flavorful, fresh and fairly healthy depending on how you order.
This is a shame to write. This place is so close to being a great restaurant. Food was good but portions were strange. The trio dips were so small and the chips they came with were over seasoned and killed the flavors of the dips. Fries were good but they seemed like frozen fries with spice on them. Service was below average. The entire time we did not have an actual waiter instead a group of people taking care of us with no one particular knowing what we ordered. Very disorganized. Peri peri shrimp were too mushy. Vegetables for the lamb shank were very bland. Will not be coming back
Chef Jen Caroll has put together a very creative menu drawing influences from Northern Africa and the Mediterranean.
Excellent food- great outdoor space. Service was super slow. We ended up cancelling our last round of drinks bc it was taking forever to get to us.
Delicious food with unexpected little flourishes of flavor and terrific service. Highly reccomend. We had the baked cheese, trio of dips, shrimp kebab and the lamb entree — loved them all. And the kids felt extra fancy having the hibiscus lemonade.
Some of the best food in the city and it’s super low key and a great date spot
Food is one of the best in Philadelphia. Dishes are absolutely delicious and presentation is gorgeous. We did the chef's tasting and were amazed by how much food we kept receiving. They never remembered serving spoons and sometimes had to wait 15-20 minutes to get drink refills, but all in all, this restaurant is one of my favorites in Philly.
Did the tasting menu, and we really enjoyed it. The pacing was good, so we weren’t overwhelmed, nor did we feel rushed to keep it moving. I look forward to going back.
The outdoor dining at Spice Finch was great! We did the tasting menu.
