Don’t waste your time visiting here for brunch. By way of example, the hostess could not care less about us being there and after sitting us down nobody came over for over 15 minutes. After waiting a while longer, we decided to leave and goto another place near Rittenhouse Square. The first indication there was an issue at Spice Finch was the fact the restaurant was mostly empty even during prime brunch time. Now we know why. Spice Finch is ok for dinner (we have a nice time there in the past), but the message is clear: brunch simply doesn’t matter to them.
While the food was decent, the price did not correspond to quality of size of the portions.
I was disappointed by the shakshuka, but the dips were excellent.
Spice Finch had exceptional service and exceptional food. If you like innovative and authentic mediterranean, I highly recommend this spot. My only suggestion is that tablecloths (or at least a nice wooden table) would be better than linoleum tables in such a romantic candle-lit spot. Pricey but reasonable for the amazing quality you get. Menu seems small but there is plenty there.
Went with the tasting menu that included a big plate. That night was the sea bass. Everything was delicious. The service was friendly and outstanding. They were very attentive and accommodating. For $60 you couldn’t get a better value.
To maximize your experience, SHARE!! Interesting menu and by sharing you enjoy more. Wait-staff very helpful with suggestions.
Unique menu and flavors didn’t disappoint
Rich was our server and he was delightful! We had the Chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was wonderful! We were celebrating and it was a truly enjoyable evening! :)
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Spice Finch! The small plates we ordered were beautifully spiced and went together so well. The restaurant itself is warm, stylish, and inviting; and the noise level was perfect — quiet enough to have a good conversation over our dolmades and kebab. I can’t forget to mention dessert: the chocolate tahini cake was excellent. Last, thanks to our server, Jessica, who was really friendly and helpful with our questions about the menu.
The food was delicious and the portions were bigger than expected. We got a few plates to share and we left full with some to go. The service was great, with our server being knowledgeable and giving great suggestions. Prices were great, decor was beautiful, definitely recommend !
Awesome food, great service.
Love day love day
The food, cocktails, and service were superb! Looking forward to going back!
Went on Valentine’s Day unsure if there would be a limited menu but there was not. We tried quite a few small plates and everything we had was delicious. The flavor profiles were a nice combination of Mediterranean locations and even the harissa was not overpowering but still tasty. Best dish we had was the Peri Peri Shrimp. It was light and delicious and I could have drank the broth. I was thankful for the flatbread to sop it up. Highly recommend.
A lovely meal for Valentine’s Day! Terrific food- every dish was seasoned to perfection. Good service with a recommendation on the lamb ribs that led us to our favorite dish! The ambience was fine, I would have appreciated a different type of music for background. The music felt a little more like “club music“ than restaurant background music. But it wasn’t too loud so it was easy enough to ignore, especially since the food was so delectable!
Limited menu has several very good choices. Portions are the right amount of food. Go for the Chicken Skewers and Peri Peri Shrimp. Vegan options were great for my Partner. Drinks from the Bar were very good. Our Server Matthew was both knowledgeable, humorous and attentive.
Spice Finch was great! Delicious food and great environment.
Great drinks, roasted cauliflower was the highlight dish, the bread was magnifique and went well with the peri peri shrimp broth
The food was very flavorful. The "small" plates were plenty to share. Absolutely gorgeous food. I will be back. Oh and the mezcal/ tequila spicy drink was excellent. Had two.
As always the food was off the charts. Never fails to be an exceptional meal.
Excellent service. Creative and delicious drinks. Food was spectacular—beautifully plated, good portions and unique flavors! We can wait to return with friends because we would have liked a small taste of every dish (and we were only two people!) we’ll be back soon
This is my second time to Spice Finch, but this time, I brought 8 other friends with me who were experiencing it for the first time. Everybody loved the food. It is perfect for large parties who want to try multiple dishes. And with all things considered, the multiple plates and bottles of wine/cocktails, it was an affordable evening. I highly recommend! Next time, I will visit to try their brunch!
Excellent food, highly recommended
Great food. Great ambiance. Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Would do it again. Food is on the pricey side but that was expected.
Had a fantastic time at Spice Finch. Great service, delicious food and beverages!
Unusual foods, focussed on veggies, and very good. not a hotel restaurant!
Food was outstanding! Fresh, delicious and able to accommodate many dietary restrictions. However, service was mediocre. Our server seemed annoyed by us before we’d even had a chance to order food (which was 30 minutes after we’d arrived). Also, the dishes are meant to be shared, but none came out with a large spoon to serve with. I love this place, but service has gone downhill recently.
Great food, service, and ambiance. If looking for something different and exquisite, this is a place not to miss.
We got together for brunch with our annual family get together with a monthly group. Had a round table with a lazy Susan. Great to share everything and fun. Great server too.
We have been to Spice Finch several times. We have even brought my family (including my parents and my twin niece and nephew) and have had wonderful service and spectacular food every time! We recommend it all the time! Tonight, the food was perfect (as always), but our server was a cut above. Seth was attentive, professional, knowledgable, and kind. He was a step ahead every time and just a pleasure to dine with. Kuddos to all and a special thank you to Seth.
Food was good. Issue we had was timing of when our food came out. There was a long gap between our last two courses and by the time it came out we honestly didn’t even want it anymore.
Went to Spice Finch for my husband's birthday. This was one of the only restaurants I can remember going to where we were both just totally wowed by the food and flavors, and we are picky. THe lamb ribs were amazing as were the harissa shrimp and the roasted veggie side. The naan appetizer was really the best naan I've ever eaten - hot, fluffy, rich, just out of the oven. The only part of the meal we thought was "meh" was the roasted cauliflower. Just too much cinnamon for us. Atmosphere is great, service fantastic. Our waiter gave us the 2nd round of glasses of wine on the house for my husband's birthday. So special! We will return.
I had dinner here with some friends. Service was excellent. Our waiter was spot on with his suggestions for both drinks and food. The place is vegetarian friendly. They have a mix of small, medium and large plates on the menu - we had a mix of all. From the shishito peppers and date truffle to spinach kichi and peri peri shrimp - everything was excellent. We also tried 3 desserts - the "baklava" (shredded wheat) and apple tart were excellent. We would definitely go back.
My mom had the avocado toast and said it was delicious. I had the shakshouka which wasn't very good- there are other places in the city that do a much better job. The main reason why I won't recommend this place is the service (well just our server, the hostess and busser were super nice). The server was not attentive at all- She never came to check in on us after we received the food and we sat with empty glasses and plates for a good 15-20min. From what i could see she had two other 5/6 top tables and me and my mom. The server who was attending the table next to us had fantastic service- just a shame.
The waiter initially kept coming over about every 1 - 2 minutes (not exaggerating) & kept asking if we had any questions. We clearly were discussing the menu every, so politely we asked him to give us 10 minutes because we wanted to review every options. He wasn’t busy & bored I think.
After the 3rd back to back asks, he completely disappeared. The staff at the bar was chatting & we were unable to get their attention. We weren’t in a rush so we waited til he eventually came back. What I ordered, He immediately told me wasn’t available on that day & he even realized that maybe he should’ve shared that when he kept coming over initially. So I picked something else in a hurry cause didn’t want to risk him walking away & disappearing again.
We also ordered a share of the “both flatbreads and 4 dips/sauces”. A server, different than our waiter brought the 4 dips & only one flatbread! I asked that person to please make sure we got the two flatbreads we had ordered. He was confused & told us he will take care of. That person never came back. Neither did that our waiter. So once we finished the one flatbread, I eventually did grab someone’s attention from the bar to go find our waiter. She went looking for him and couldn’t find him. So she asked what I needed. I explained to her that we wanted the second flatbread that was in our order.
She came back with these flavored (delicious) dry cut up and spiced up bread that I had never had at your restaurant before. Loved them and didn’t think too much about it.
Though we had told the waiter (twice) that we definitely wanted tea at the end and maybe even dessert, he surprised us with the check!!! At that point I was frustrated because my friend was my guest & it was her first time there and I had RAVED about your restaurant and this was our experience!!
He took the check back and brought the teas. I paid the bill & later saw that were charged a random $2 for that 2nd bread! Don’t care about the $2 but the whole experience!
Loved the first two apps, wasn’t impressed by the rest of the meal. Server was awesome though.
we've been to Spice Finch a few times and always welcome it's interesting and delicious menu, its relative quietude and the consistently good service. Unfortunately at this visit the food was oversalted. I believe it was conveyed to the kitchen and hopefully our next time there it won't be the case.
The meal was outstanding and the portions generous.
Nice decor and ambiance. Went for brunch for which they offer a specific (and fairly limited) menu. The menu was a bit confusing. The portions were quite small although everything was very tasty and the service was excellent.
An incredible meal from start to finish!
Server was top notch, but food was disappointing. Waited a very long time for half of our dishes. Salads came out right away and were good. Ordered the tortilla appetizer which didn’t come out for a very long time, and when it finally did it was ice cold. Server took care of it and brought out complementary shishito peppers instead, which was nice. My main dish (pasta) came out, but my husbands steak was delayed. It didn’t come out until after I was done eating my meal. He also ordered shrimp which didn’t come out until after he was done eating his steak. I understand small plates being delivered at different times, but the spacing of our meal was all off so we were never eating together. The server was very nice and took care of us, but I expected a manager or someone to stop by given the multiple delays in our dishes and no one did. Kudos to the server for salvaging the meal for us, but was still disappointing.
