Spiaggetta, our namesake, means "little beach" in Italian. When you're here, it sure feels like you're on a little beach in Italy though. We go through great lengths to ensure an authentic experience, from hand making our own pastas, to sticking to traditional Italian kitchen rules when we source only the best, freshest local ingredients for their flavor. The Tarantino family excitedly welcomes you to see what real Italian food and hospitality is like, and invites you to spend a night in their dining room in the same way a close friend would host a dinner party. We'll expertly prepare delicious Branzino or serve our handmade gnocchi as if we were trying to impress our mothers.

Great restaurant but better in the summer when they have all of their ingredients for the dishes listed on their menu.
I visited Spiaggetta many times over the past few years and they surprise me with great food and excellent service every time. The owners (husband and wife) are always present and very attentive and their food is very good. This weekend we tasted the Wild Game specials, all with an Italian accent. Pheasant Cacciatore style with Roasted Peppers over polenta (?) and braised Wild boar Pappardelle, unique and delicious.
My daughter had the Cacio Pepe pasta from their regular menu, as tasty as it was in Rome. The server was attentive and non-intrusive. Once again, thank you Spiaggetta, our favorite in Stone Harbor. This is BYOB restaurant .

An off season dinner in Stone Harbor with good friends, the menu has been updated for the Fall,. We dined on a Sat night, there were specials in addition to the menu. We went with the special beet salad and a favorite, eggplant rolatini. We choose the seafood entrees, salmon, flounder and shrimp. We enjoyed all of our choices. It was nice to take our time with our meal, no one was waiting for the table so we spent the time catching up in an comfortable environment.
My husband and I visited last night for the first time. It’s off season so it was quiet but there were quite a few tables full. We had the Romana salad which was cold and crisp and fresh. Quite tasty. We also had the Supli appetizer which was very tasty with generous portion size. For dinner we had the homemade gnocchi and a grilled scallop special over risotto. Everything was excellent, very tasty and perfectly cooked.
We skipped dessert because we were right on time and we brought our own wine. Total bill for 2 with tax was 92.00 a bit high but it’s a shore town and so I expect that. We will definitely be back.
Spiaghetta was great as always. Food was fantastic. Shrimp/Risotta dish was wonderful Great salads and great pasta. Spiaghetta is consistently good. Owner goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. Love it more in off season when the frenetic summer pace and crowds are gone. We will be back.
Very good italian food! We went here for dinner the night before a wedding and immensely enjoyed our dinner! Highly suggest checking out this gem!!

Very pleased with this cozy and family run restaurant. This past Saturday we were seated promptly by a well mannered hostess ( we later find out that she was the owner). Our server was prompt, well informed and she was also very professional. I had the Cacio pepe (the best had this side of Rome) , my husband had the Ribeye (very well prepared) . We both shared the octopus and the suppli . The food was good, actually very good. The owner, Marco, stopped at the table and check on us few times. I will recommend this restaurant to many people and I had to say that , despite it was early mid-October, there was a line of people waiting to be seated ; unusual for the a Shore restaurant this time of the year. Great choice for our anniversary. Definitely return to enjoy the many Roman dishes.
We dined here before both in season and before season. Our hostess was terrific seating us right away.
The appetizers were good; both Calamari and Octopus.
Our server was good too.
I'm extremely disappointed in the meals.
3 Veal Parms which were more like 4 Deep Fried Bread crumb cakes; and under cooked Gnocchi.
We all were having fun and it wasn't until later that night we realized all 4 meals sucked.
We could have stayed home and made burgers but decided to go to out.
Maybe it was a bad night. but none of us even tasted the Veal. Ugh.
Disappointed in desert options and didn't even stay for coffee.
Food was mediocre. Too high-priced. One of the dishes came to the table like warm. Marinara sauce was bland. Bolognese suave needed extra seasoning.

Wait for table with reservation was 45 mins. What’s the point of having a reservation?
One of the best pasta dishes...Penne alla grillia... we’ve had in a very very long time. An offering from their special Roman cuisine menu tonight. The entire meal was excellent, our waiter attentive but not intrusive, and the owner was everywhere, bussing tables and chatting with diners. We first ate here ages ago, probably not long after they opened. We enjoyed it but never went back. Why???!! No good reason, just happens for some inexplicable reason. Well, that’s about to change. I suspect Spiaggeta will become one of our favorite places to dine at the shore. We’ll be back in a couple weeks for their menu with Turdo wine pairings- Turdo Winery is another find in Cape May. Head & shoulders above most other wineries in South Jersey. Should be a great collaboration!
The food is always well prepared and fresh. The dishes are very favorable and satisfying. The service was slow but then again it was the end of the season in Stone Harbor.
We arrived at 6:45 and seated at 6:55pm. Waiter came by with bread and water. Shortly thereafter lhe came back to take our order. (40) mins later we flagged down our waiter and asked about our appetizers?
Waiter said he would check and came back from kitchen to tell us the computer went down and our order never received in kitchen. He re-took our order and said he would put it in right away. Owner/Manager stopped by to see if everything was ok. When asked about the computers being down he said they are not down! So we asked why our waiter told us that story. Said he would rush our order and check with waiter.
Waiter and owner/manager came back quickly with appetizers. Owner/manager says " See I told you they were nice people" . Waiter rolled his eyes and looked away.
At no time did waiter or owner/manager apologize for the poor service or for the waiter lying to us. Nothing was "comped" on our bill in spite of this poor service. In fairness they were busy but there is no real excuse here.
Late season at the shore and the seasonal staff leaves making service slow. Enjoyable meal but the serving size might have been larger for the price. More white pasta sauces than red.

My husband, 2 friends and I dined here last night. Despite a description of their "wonderful" hand made pasta, we found it dense and heavy. However my special dish of scallops and spaghetti squash was wonderful.
Not sure where to start as everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was fresh and the asparagus and zucchini are a nice addition. I can’t say enough about the gnocchi in the bolognese sauce. Both the Pork loin and scallops special we’re just enough to cap off our wonderful meal. I can’t forget the tiramisu which was the best I’ve had.
Best Italian on the island . Marco and his family ( including Grandma , who makes the pasta ) have a really good thing going .
The Jersey Fresh menu was spectacular! The eggplant was delicate, crispy and delicious. Spiagetta consistently delivers an authentic Italian experience.
Great Italian restaurant, specialized dishes, not just the same old, same old! One of the very few restaurants that serve Cacio e Pepe, THANKS Spiaggetta.
UPDATE: following this review, the restaurant contacted me. They are working with their staff to increase consistency. I have high hopes for our next dinner here. I have updated my review with some info they provided (specifically regarding BYOB/wine availability)
We ate at Spiaggetta two Saturdays in a row - with different guests. While I think this restaurant has the potential for awesomeness, their inconsistency makes me hesitate to recommend them to others. You just don't know what you'll get - both in terms of service and cuisine quality.
The first Saturday, I ordered the homemade Harvest fettuccine. It was very salty overall and lacked an abundance of veggies. The second Saturday, my friend ordered the Harvest fettuccine (with my cautionary tale). This time the pasta was fantastic - but again seemed to lack the quantity of veggies we were hoping for.The first Saturday, my husband ordered the lamb chop and was very pleased with it. This time he ordered his favorite Italian dish, the Bronzino. While disappointed that it wasn't served whole, he felt that the preparation was OK. I ordered the salmon the second visit and it was cooked to perfection - but the sides were oversalted.
Our server the first time there was amazing - attentive, informed and very gracious. The second time, our server was either brand new at this restaurant, or maybe waiting in general.
The biggest crisis involved wine. The first time, we enjoyed the house rose - they carry a local vineyards wine. The rose was nice & dry and offered at a very reasonable price. It is also BYOB and beware, when the local winery runs out, it is BYOB only. Unfortunately this is not communicated in any way. To be safe - bring your own wine! Or do what we did our 2nd visit - send your spouse to Freds (about 3 blocks away) to buy some.
Overall - Stone Harbor has a limited selection of restaurants. A little consistency would go a long way in pushing Spiaggetta up to the top of our list.
The salmon I ordered was quite good, but the fresh seafood menu selection was limited. My wife ordered Lobster Fra Diavolo that was served with home made Fettucine. The pasta was clumped together and the sauce tasted like from a jar....not good at all. When we explained this to our waiter he quickly got the cost for her dinner removed from the bill. It could have been a much more enjoyable experience if not for the poor Fra Diavolo. By the way, the bread that was served pre meal was wonderful and our waiter Steve was pleasant and understanding.

It was very busy the night of our dinner. Our waiter was overworked but did a good job. The food took a while to come out but we were comped with desert. So over all it turned out nice.
Nice ambience, the menu has great options. Excellent pastas and seafood.
There were 8 of us and everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. We were too full to try dessert! Steven was our server and he was very attentive. Noise level was active but that seems to be the norm for shore restaurants on a Saturday evening. We will definitely be back.
Great Italian food with many different choices. Not the usual Italian fare.
Going to Spiaggetta, was a "bad bet-ta". Arrived there with a party of 4. Waiter had no personality. Upon being seated, he seemed kind of annoyed when I asked him to repeat 2 special entrees. We couldn't decide on appetizers and my wife asked for suggestions. He just stood there with a blank expression, then walked away and said he'd be back. We decided to forgo on appetizers and we just ordered entrees. I ordered the Bronzino. The piece of fish was so small, I'd be surprised if it weighed 3 ounces. The dish was tasteless and served over a small polenta cake and 2 micro-thin planks of zucchini ($34). Both my wife and my sister ordered the Farmhouse. Fried eggplant and zucchini over spinach fettuccini. Both commented that the sauce was off-putting ($27 each)
Again, the dish was mediocre at best. My daughter was the only one that liked her dish, lobster fra-diavola, but the lobster portion was small and the sauce was average ($36). Overall, nothing to right home about. Over-priced, under-sized, tasteless, never again. Was a BYOB, though.
Went to dinner with family & we all had great meals. I had chicken parm and the sauce was soo good. It’s byob and we grabbed a bottle from a place down the block. But the only thing is we sat down and were told they ran out of bread for the table... a while later we were randomly brought bread? The bread was brown and kind of sweet? Almost like it was desert bread. We all thought it was good but kind of odd. Served with oil to dip. No room for desert. Entrees were still very good! And good atmosphere!
When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told it would be 2 minutes to prepare a table. We could see several prepared tables sitting empty. 25 minutes later we were finally seated at a table that hadn't been touched since we arrived. We ordered immediately because the extra half hour wait made us very hungry. The manager/ owner/ host - that - sat - us even made a comment that we must be hungry from waiting. We then asked for bread and were told that they'd run out! what Italian restaurant runs out of bread!? When the food finally came, the salad was wilted, the eggplant was ok, the risotto balls were good, the lobster was chewy but the pasta and sauce were delicious.
Delicious Italian food! I had the handmade linguini with Alfredo and shrimp. Every bite is delicious . Other family members had the gnocchi, and the pork special ... no complaints highly recommend
The food was authentic Italian with awesome homemade pasta dishes! Worth every cent and a byob! My 3 daughters loved it and they are hard to please!
My favorite " go-to" place. Consistent each and every time. The pasta is delicious as well as the other entrees that I have tried including salmon, chops and seafood combinations. Never a long wait if you have a reservation, and the staff is always courteous and prompt. Everything was a great for a night out with friends and family.
We were seated next to a larger party celebrating a birthday and they were so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk. Ruined it for us. Food was good, calamari was over cooked but other than that would try again.
