Spencer’s for Steak and Chops – DoubleTree by Hilton Spokane City Center Ratings and Reviews
We have an amazing meal here every time we visit. The service is exceptional and the food is amazing. For the best steak and seafood in Spokane this is the place to be. The wine list is extremely deep and finding something amazing to eat and drink is automatic here.
We always enjoy coming to Spencer's before seeing a show at the INB Performing arts center. The atmosphere and service is great and the location is very convenient. We ordered a variety of items from the appetizer menu so we could try different things and our server did a wonderful job spacing out our meal and serving it in courses so that nothing got cold. We didn't have a steak, but tried the steak kebab and it was amazing. The steak was so tender and melts in your mouth, so if you are looking for an amazing steak...this is your place.
The food is always great at Spencer's. We make a point of stopping there whenever we come to visit our daughter however, this time around I was disappointed by the tiny portions. They need to increase the entre sizes or lower their prices. Not a good value any longer.
When thinking about our recent dining experience at Spencer's the following thoughts come to mind. Appealing environment, responsive and attentive service and excellent food. We have tried several other upscale restaurants in Spokane and other locations over the years but find ourselves returning to Spencer's. We will certainly look forward to our next dining experience at Spencer's in the near future.
I was looking for a quiet place to have a business meeting and Spencer's fit the bill nicely. The food was quick and plentiful. It was also delicious. The best part of the experience was the service from our server, Grant. He made us feel welcome, was knowledgeable about the menu, and he communicated with us through our our time there. Thank you, Spencer's!
May overall experience it was good but not what you expect from a fine dining place
The server messed up on our order , got my wife a drink she didn't ask for , never got our appetizer , my lobster was over cooked n rubbery , no apologies or even trial to correct . Maybe I just had higher expectations for the price tag
The reservation was made as this was my favorite and unfortunately the quality has gone down since last time I was able to dine.
The waiter forgot half our drink orders and we never got half the sides (loaded bake potatoes) and had to cancel our second reservations as we went to Churchills instead on second night.
Really thought to give 4 Stars because my Caesar Salad was just OK. However, everything else was 5 Stars plus! From the moment we pulled up to the courtesy of the Valet at the Hilton, being seated right away by a very nice Hostess and the service provided by our younger and very kind - knowledgeable waitress. The bread and butter was delicious, steaks very tasty and cooked to perfection, the potatoes and vegetables were very good. And the chocolate cake dessert was wonderful - save room because it's a must have! Love Spencer's and being just off the River walk can make for a very beautiful evening in Spokane.
Alaskan King Crab legs were tough and flavorless (obviously previously frozen, which is usually the case, I admit -- esp. in Spokane. French onion soup was very good, as was the calory-laden baked potato. But all in all, a "meh" meal.
Had the Spencers Steak (a bone-in ribeye), and it was fantastic. Cooked properly, spiced properly (let the meat do the work), and it was perfect.
It's a fairly expensive restaurant, but it rivals the other top-tier steakhouses around Spokane. You almost certainly won't be disappointed.
We've lived in Spokane on and off for 30 years and finally decided to try Spencer's...I had been to a business meeting and the food was good. Tonight was a different story...it was an unimaginitive and lackluster meal...there are much better restaurants within walking distance.
The food was excellent and well prepared. We ordered the ribeye steak and split it between us and it was more than enough. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our server, Joey was the best! We actually split everything, as the portions are very generous and the side dishes are actually served family style.
The service was fantastic! Our server was polite, friendly and attentive. The ambiance was comfortable. I enjoy a good steak and have dined at some of the best Prime Steakhouses across the country. I thought the steaks here were just Ok. Not bad, not great just Ok. Was hoping for better than that from a Prime Steakhouse. I ordered their signature 22 oz Spencer Bone-In Rib Eye.
My companions all enjoyed their meals, one ordering the 8 oz Filet and the other the Parmesan Crusted Halibut. The accompaniments we ordered included button mushrooms, spinach and grilled Asparagus all of which were very good. The baked potato dressed table side was also fantastic.
Overall a good meal and a good experience, just not quite the caliber of steak I've come to expect from a Prime Steakhouse. I will dine here again, but will probably stay away from the steaks and dine on some of the other entree options.
We enjoyed a selection of small plates with a couple of friends, and shared the selections together, which was a lot of fun. The food was delicious. I like that the bar is quiet enough to have conversations without yelling at table-mates. The prices are fair, the food was excellent.
We went here for Restaurant week. The food was really good! I was impressed with every course. I loved the onion soup and pistachio and orange creme brûlée. It was very noisy, but they were packed because of Restaurant week, so the noise level was to be expected.
