What a great experience. Had a very important business lunch, and the staff delivered. The food was outstanding, and Crystal our server (best in the business) was amazing...as usual!
For our retun to Spencer's in a long time, we both wanted to order something new or something we've been disappointed in at other restaurants. Both orders were outstanding. Melt-in-your-mouth Rack of Lamb and King Crab legs.
We were never greeted when arriving at the restaurant. We waited to be seated when there was only a few groups of people. A waiter finally seated us. Food was good. Received an Open Table notice saying we never showed up for reservation. Well that explains the host/hostess problem.
Great place for steak
This is a local favorite that's consistently excellent. 1600 degree searing makes steaks and chops flavorful and juicy, and attentive, professional service makes dining here a real pleasure.
Lackluster experience. Steaks were amazing.
Splendid time. Matthew was exceptional. Truly enjoyed our time.
Delicious steaks and crab legs. The mashed potatoes were tasty and I even ate a brussel sprout. The mac and cheese was bland for my taste but it was topped with real bacon so that made up for it. I'm excited to go back and try out the porterhouse for two. Ashley who helped us was a delight and we all enjoyed her.
We took advantage of Restaurant Week and loved Spencer's! Probably the best tasting steak we have ever had. We started our meal with a few different appetizers and enjoyed each of them! We are already planning our next visit!
We came for restaurant week and loved the food. Can’t wait to come back.
Wow. Best steak I've had. Black Label Snake River farms can compare to a Prime cut any day. Leave room for the chocolate naughty cake for dessert. It will melt in your mouth and is served with salted caramel ice cream. Yum.
the service is outstanding and it was w as present experance
Always great!
Went here hoping to find the elusive “nice” restaurant in Spokane. Our friends raved about this place and we thought we’d try it. Menu has great selection albeit everything is ala carte... 10.50 for a baked potato seemed oddly high( although it’s roughly the size of a small loaf of artisan bread) my husband ordered the Filet Mignon which was prepared nicely and quite good but not exceptional in any way as far as steak goes! I ordered the lobster and it was complete mush, no density whatsoever, they apparently bake the lobster but I’ve never had lobster the consistency of porridge before and hopefully never will again. They graciously removed it from the bill but all the same the evening was a bust and we still haven’t found anywhere in Spokane that offers consistently great seafood and steaks that we can count on. Hats off to the servers though. They were great.
The waitress we had never brought us bread and didn’t refill our drink
A Valentine’s Day to remember. Everything was perfect. I already loved this restaurant and this evening was just better. If you want five star food and service look no further
The usher was rude to say the least, given it was a Valentine's Day. My wife, kid, and I were late by few mts but were told to be ready to leave in an hour. The waitress was good but the constant hovering over our shoulder to see if we were done wasn't exactly appetizing. Not worth the relatively pricey food either. For the two of us, just entrees and one drink for my wife came out to 100 even (before tips).
Spencer’s is alway a great experience. Spencer steak was awesome! Best Calamari we’ve ever had.
Excellent if you are looking for a quiet place to hold conversation. There is also the bar which was more lively. The restaurant was perfect for us. Great atmosphere, nice variety on the menu.
Everything is al a carte. Food was awesome. We all had the filet mignon ($42 just for the steak). All were cooked to perfection. Plan to go back.
I have been to Spencer’s dozens of times over the last three years. Often enough that most of the staff recognizes me and greets me by name. But my visits in the past have usually been on Friday nights. This visit was on a Sunday and I found the experience to be extremely less satisfactory than I’ve come to expect. The requests made by the guests as to how they wanted there steaks cooked were not adhered to. Two of the steaks were undercooked and one quite over cooked. I requested that my steak have no pepper - as I am allergic (this has never been a problem before) - but the steak was indeed peppered. While the experience hasn’t put me off going back again in the future I think I’ll try to stick to nights with the A-List kitchen and serving crew rather than the D-Listers we got this time.
Pleasantly surprised! After 15 years in Las Vegas, I’ve been struggling to find a decent restaurant to eat at. I’ve been to several. Spencers is the only I would recommend, along with Wild Sage. Will go again.
The 1600 degree broiler makes the best steak I’ve ever tasted but it runs about 50-60$ which is hard to afford unless it’s once or twice a year
Spencer's has the best wait staff in town. Our waiter recognized us from previous visits, was an expert on the menu, and did a fantastic job. Always special to eat there.
Amazing steaks!! First time in a long time we have found a good steak in the area worth driving to.
When we arrived, we waited at least five minutes for someone to notice we were waiting for our reservation. No greeting. The restaurant was not busy nor was the bar.
Once we were seated, our server was pleasant.
The appetizer, the roasted tomatoes and cheese, were ok; tomatoes not very ripe which made it bland. The scallops were a little chewy, the vegetables were delicious. The steak was cooked to our liking. Dessert, bread pudding, was really the highlight. So flavorful.
Christmas Dinner
Service was professional. Our server was gracious and attentive. Dinner was very good. Overall experience was outstanding. Will definitely go back.
We had Christmas Eve dinner at Spencers and we were not disappointed. We started with some cocktails and appetizers before moving onto their a la cart style menu. I shared the Porter House, with peppercorn, for two with my adult son and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. My daughter’s both had filets and loved them as well. My husband chose the Ahi and thought it was wonderful. Although there are options for those that do t want steaks and chops, it is what Spencers is known for and they do a great job. My family and I will definitely return.
Very helpful staff. And very friendly. Excellent food.
This place is the definition of fine dining. While spendy, you are paying for a nice ambiance and downtown location. The steak was wonderful, crusty on the outside and tender inside, cooked just right (we had medium rare). We couldn't eat it all and it was just as good the next day! The side dishes are served family style, with plenty for all.
Our server was amazing. Food was perfect!
I highly recommend the garlic mashed red potatoes and the bacon Mac and cheese! Delicious!! Of course the steak was cooked perfectly as well:) our server was tops. We will be back!
Steak quality is always good . I understand there was a change of chef which has changed the menu somewhat . However, my favorite things have disappeared , the caprese salad and Spenser’s steak sauce. Other salads are good so that wasn’t much of a problem. But there was no substitution for the steak sauce even though I was given several of the other sauces to taste. All very boring. Hope it gets put back. May have to switch over to Churchill’s.
We had a very poor experience. We ate at Spencer’s before a show at the INB Performing Arts center (7:30 showtime). We made our time commitment very clear to our waiter. After being seated (5:15 reservation). our waiter did not offer us drinks for 20 minutes. After ordering a bottle of wine, her returned a full ten minutes later to say it was out of stock. Upon selecting another bottle, he returned yet again to say they did not have it. We asked him to recommend a comparable wine that was available. He returned with a bottle more than DOUBLE our original selection This we did not discover until we received our bill, assuming comparable meant similar price and varietal.
Almost an hour into dinner we received our appetizer, followed by salads. Our main course arrived with only 20 minutes to eat. The risotto was absolute flavorless. Scallops were scant for the price. The only decent meal was a steak, cooked nicely. We will not be returning.
We love Spencer's! The service is always first class and exceptional. The food is delicious. The wine is excellent. The ambience is classic and cozy. I've been a million times and never, ever had a bad experience.
We decided to go out for Thanksgiving dinner this year and tried Spencer's. Making the reservation online was simple. The food was wonderful! Our wait staff were very friendly, helpful and timely. I have already recommended Spencer's to a couple of friends.
we went to spencer's for thanksgiving.
it was a cozy spot away from home.
delicious!
Meh! Was my overall reaction to their Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Not impressive in anyway. Looked good on the plate. Tasted fine, but just not impressive. Although the brussels spouts were awful. I mentioned it and was given a different complementary side. Also, the server seemed overly solicitous. I became suspicious that the person was high on pot. That was distracting... the ambience is kind of classy in a dark sort of way... I suspect if you want steak and potatoes you might be very happy there.
Wow! Outstanding service. Valet parking and they saved my remaining portion of dinner to pick up after attending concert at INB. Will definitely do again. The food was well worth the price. I am gluten intolerant and they modified a menu item I wanted but was not listed as gluten free. Our waiter was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This is a must do for those special times.
