I was looking for a restaurant near the Theater to dine before a performance. We had dined at all the recommended restaurants except for Spencers.
What a treat. Great and reasonably priced wine list and Halibut was superb, as well a generous portion.
We had a knowledgeable and attentive server who added to our enjoyment of our meal.
Always a great experience. Prices are becoming a bit of a challenge. Tomahawk ribeye, 130.00. 😳
Waiter,Didio, was amazing. Never wrote anything down but order and his suggestions were spot on..food was excellent. A little loud since the bar is 8n the restaurant.
We ate at Spencers last night (1/8/22). Sat in the bar, which is very elegant and a nice atmosphere. We shared a Bison Ribeye, which was prepared exactly as we asked. It was a little more fatty than we expected, which bison usually isn't.
However, it was very tasty, but the "Oscar" topping (crab & béarnaise) was very meager for $15 extra. I think they need to do more with that. The baked potato was HUGE, with a lot of toppings, which was great for us to split.
Keep in mind, everything there is "al a carte", so the final tab gets a bit pricey. Steaks are $54 - $70, then you pay $10 each, for potatoes or veggies. Our "Split" meal came to $120, even without a split charge.
About the service, it was EXCEPTIONAL. From the bartender, to the dinner server, to the potato topping server. Absolutely the best service I've seen in this area.
If money is no object, this is a great restaurant for a steak dinner.
Tony thanks for your great review and comments. Hope to see you back in the future.
Very good food. Steaks are a little expensive compared to other restaurants. Definitely will eat there again. Husband’s favorite.
Thanks for the 5 stars Jill!
Wonderful meal and service!
Thanks for the 5 stars! Hope to see you back soon.
My first time there... Quiet, intimate setting. Service was great and the food was delicious. Our server, Crystal (I believe) , answered all our questions showing menu knowledge, and her recommendations were delicious. Thank you.
We will be sure to pass you comments along to Crystal, hope to see you back soon.
Love the atmosphere and great Manhattans! The Tomahawk steak was awesome! The others were good but not great, except for the New York strip. The desserts weren't anything special.
The food as usual was great. We so appreciate the staff working on Christmas day and their excellent service.
We went on Christmas Day. The food was good and the service was great. We sat at the bar and we’re able to visit with other diners. Sarah, our bartender and service provider was awesome
Prime Rib for Christmas dinner. A real disappointment. Tough and poor flavor
Food was great and Crystal took great care of us.
It was an amazing experience and worth the cost, we will recommend to everyone.
Mark thanks for your 5 stars! I will share with Sandy your server, she will be delighted to read it.
Great food and a great atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again. Becca did a great job of taking care of us.
Wow David thanks for your glowing review, I will make sure Becca sees it. We look forward to welcoming you back.
The steak was amazing as always. But this time the sides lacked flavor. The Mac tasted like it was bland at best and the bacon with it tasted off. The asparagus lacked any or all flavor. I guess I am going to wait sometimes to go back again.
We look forward to your return, and hope we knock it out of the park next time.
Had not been for a few years. Best rib eye in town!
Everything as it should be.
Thanks for the great rating! We look forward to welcoming you back.
Middle of the road for high end dining. Halibut was overcooked, hard fish to cook but Chef should know better. Service was excellent, thank you. Probably will not dine there again. For the price point, ClinkerDaggers is the go to place.
Rick sorry to hear the fish was overcooked, we would of been happy to fix it for you, next time let us know. We do hope you will give us another try.
The food was outstanding! Celebrated thanksgiving there with a group of friends, and the experience was 10/10. The steak was cooked perfectly, and drinks were wonderful. Couldn’t recommend more!
Sarah we were so happy to have your group in!
A really fantastic wine list, at really reasonable prices. Excellent food, stupendous service. A really great location as well, we loved being able to walk to our show after the meal.
Great food, drinks and service. I will be back for sure.
One of the best steakhouses in Spokane! Great food and ambiance.
The best halibut ever!!. Service was excellent. Everything was perfect.
We eat at Spencer's frequently and they deliver high quality food and service time and time again.
Ordered a rib eye steak. No presentation, veggies etc. Paid $62. Steak was good but nothing spectacular. Everything a la carte. Priced too high for quality of food.
Over priced and noisy. So I put I would not recommend Spencer’s and the app won’t let me submit my review. The survey auto filled I would recommend and when I changed the radio button to “no” I would not recommend the option to continue the survey changed to “skip” vs. continue..hmmm
We’ve dined here for years , but this year the food quality has really gone down. My husband ordered the $70 tenderloin sold as “cuts like butter”. It was anything but tender. Tough and dry even though it was cooked medium rare(which it was closer to medium). Salad was way over dressed with dressing. My crab cakes were tasty though crab was so pulverized it was more like pate’. Not up to previous quality.
Excellent food and service! Inflation has really affected the value!
My wife and I are in town visiting and wanted a very nice meal out we booked last minute and were able to get a table. The steak was perfect and the service was special. We forgot our leftovers and our waitress brought them over to our neighboring hotel so that we would have them. It was a great experience.
Over rated and too salty. Service was good. Noisy table that night.
I'm sorry you found our food to be to salty, we would be happy to do light or no salt upon request. We do hope you will give us another try in the future.
Thanks for a great evening with wonderful food and excellent service.
Music background choice for a high end restaurant did not meet class expectations. It was all over the board leading me to believe they have an identity/brand problem. When we mentioned this to the wait staff, our message was not well received, at all. Food was excellent, but so pricey now. I have enjoyed many meals here, but this visit will be my last. There are now better options than Spencer's, unfortunately.
Ken, thanks for letting us know about the music, we use Pandora for business and sometimes it can get a little funky and we have to switch stations to get what we would prefer for Spencer's. As you know beef prices have skyrocketed causing us to change the prices we charge, were hoping to see the market go back down in the next 3-6 months. We hope you will still be a loyal guest of ours in the future.
The bartender who also served dinner was fantastic.
Thanks for the 5 stars, I will pass your comments along to our bartender!
Our server, Cecilia, really went out of her way to make we had a great experience. Her friendly attitude was wonderful. Food was very tasty as well.
Thank you for the great comments about Cecilia, she was delighted to read them. Hope to see you back soon.
Food was delicious. Service was great. I personally think the food is over priced really.
Some of the best prime beef you will ever eat. Always perfectly cooked and served!
Only thing to make experience better would be the lounge open 30-60 minutes before available diner seating. Work force issues and Covid are likely the issue. The dinner was fantastic.
Mike, we are also hoping to get back to our normal hours of operation in the near future, we are working hard every day to get to this goal. Thank you for your feedback and hope to see you soon.
$70 for an 8oz filet mignon seems a bit over the top. The $52 Zabuton was a better choice, flavor, texture and $18 cheaper. Still incredibly expensive. A very nice meal, but I would have rather made a car payment. I know why our Idaho restaurants are filled with Washington customers.
Thanks for your recent review, as you know beef prices have gone up and up and up over the last year and the filet is very high in price due to it being one of the top cuts of beef, we are hoping to see beef prices dropping in the next 3-6 months. The Zabuton is an amazing cut of beef at a great price, I'm glad you enjoyed that cut of meat.
Excellent service food is always great good place to take your friends for a great dinner
Thanks for your 5 star rating!
This is our second visit to Spencer's for an anniversary dinner. We loved it the first time and we loved it just as much this time as well. We highly recommend this place for any special occasion.
