A little taste of Europe in Alameda. Always busy but the food is great! The place always has a good vibe...a little noisy but a fun spot.

Great food. Instead of ordering individual meals, we ordered the meat platter and several sides and went family style. It worked well for the four of us. One of our favorite restaurants!

Disappointed with Apple strudel which was soggy with crystallized ice cream but main course was very good as were cocktails and beer.

Amazing restaurant!!!! My wife lived in Germany most of her life and says the food is near authentic! The staff there are also very welcoming. Would recommend to everybody.

We took visiting family over Thanksgiving, not once, but twice! And in the summer, I took visiting friends twice. The staff is so refreshingly welcoming. Talia was our wait person the first time....wonderful and positive and engaging. Marco was our second trip and he was amazingly tolerant, funny, attentive. Kindness prevails at this local gem that has become our go-to favorite. Thank you so much!

Went here for our 11th wedding anniversary and had a great table in the bar/live music area. The food was YUMMY and the service friendly. Loved that we could enjoy dinner for a little bit and then the band setup and started playing, super fun evening!

I have been here a bunch of times and loved it each time! The food, beer, atmosphere and service is great. It is a bit slow as they are always busy but the food is worth the wait. It's noisy so if that's not your thing ask to sit in the back area. The main winners: Potato pancake and pretzel with beer cheese...drool

We ordered a variety of starters (potato pancakes) and mains (schnitzel, turkey schnitzel, meatloaf and onions) for a family and friends get-together. The potato pancakes were just okay with the applesauce being pretty basic (bland). I can skip this next time and make it at home since they weren't to our liking. The other dishes were quite flavorful and filling. The overall restaurant vibe was definitely lively with the band playing. However, the noise level made it difficult to enjoy any conversation...and we were in a separate room. I can only imagine trying to eat and carry conversation in the main dining room and bar area. Overall, not a bad choice for German food in the East Bay.

In Germany, each brewery has their own unique glassware or mug for serving their beers. Spaesekammer has managed to acquire this glassware to serve whatever beer selection you choose in the genuine glassware from that brewery...very cool. The food is quite good and reasonably priced.

Great meal at Spiesekammer! Food as always was wonderful; friend loved the cocktails. Only negatives was that we have a visually impaired daughter; and the low
Lighting made it difficult for her - would love if there was a table with Good Light

Great food and desserts. The potato pancakes are fabulous. Apple strudel was superb. Never order flourless chocolate cake on any menu as it usually is awful. Not this version. House made and warm, gooey and delicious. Worth every calorie.

I took my 8 year old here on our quest to discover new food. We ordered several appetizers including the potato pancakes, the Fisch-Platt (variety of fish with salad), and the KÄSEBRETT
MIT FRÜCHTEN (fruit and cheese plate). We ordered a small size but they were still really big portions. We didn't care for the potato pancakes (I thought they were mushy inside) but everything else was good. My 8 year old liked the pickled herring - who would have thought. We ordered the JÄGER SCHNITZEL for dinner. Neither one of us cared for the Spätzle but the SCHNITZEL was good. To be fair, I've never really cared for Spätzle so I don't think that it was a reflection on the restaurant. Another person with us ordered the Flat Iron Steak which was the special. They said that it was very good. We of course had Strudel for desert. All in all, it was a fun experience and we will go back.

Service is very good. We asked to be seater closer to the live music and they were very accommodating. The food is good... wish they had more vegetarian options. I think there could be more salads and fresh vegetables. Their vinegar salads are too vinegary.

Fabulous waitress Johnna, so sweet and goes out of her way to make a wonderful dining experience.

Potato pancakes are the best I have had with the homemade apple sauce. Pretzels great, all of the dishes worth the drive.

Great for accompanying dogs

Thank you

The only German restaurant that I know in the Bay Area - food is authentic and consistent. Lots if good draft beer choices. Almost always have sauerbraten which is always great. My partner had rouladen which was also good

We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday here. The food was fantastic as were the drinks. We had everything from the cheese and meat plates, to pretzels with the cheese sauce, the tomato salad, the meatloaf, the weinerschnitzel, the jagerschnitzel, the sauerbraten, and the lamb shank. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Our server was extremely patient with our large group and I was super happy to be able to book a table for 10 people on relatively short notice (3 days). And A++ to the restaurant for having good air conditioning in the back room!! That was tantamount to our experience, since the food can be heavy, you don't want to eat it while your all hot and sweaty. I will certainly think of this restaurant again for future special occasions. This place is truly a gem!
