Speisekammer offers a wonderful selection of German foods, all that seem true to the land.
Service is very good. Staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
I love this place and the food never disappoints. Everything on the menu is extremely good. It can get a little loud, and it’s more of a family style restaurant than a dressy place, but it perfect for a date at anytime of the day.
Love this place. the food is outstanding and the service is great. It's loud, so, be warned. :)
Amazing food (hello, comfort food at its best!l), wonderful service, great wine list, neighborhood vibe, so warm and friendly! Extremely happy to have this restaurant in our neighborhood!
Once we were seated in a quieter space, we had a wonderful dinner. The rolled beef was out of this world, with enough for a dinner or lunch at home too! The spaetzel, red cabbage, potato pancakes with sweet mustard and apple sauce were all yummy. My sibs’ Sauerbrauten lived up to her very high expectations! Great restaurant for German fare, good service and European flair.
Unfortunately, this place lacks the quality that modern German cuisine has to offer. The Reibekuchen were either overcooked or previously frozen and therefore were a disappointment.
The German-style salad had no quality and no imagination to it and is not up to the standard in a good German restaurant.
The Jaegerschnitzel's sauce was ultra bland and I have no idea who this was made, but no! This is not a Jaegerschnitzel.
The Wienerschnitzel's veal was hard to eat and unevenly pounded (a hallmark feature of a good German or Austrian Wiener Schnitzel).
So an attempt to get a taste from home failed badly. I should have stuck with Naschmarkt in Campbell. I am so terribly sorry that this wants to portrait German food, at best a less than good restaurant in a small German village. I have the feeling that this was the understanding of a non-German Chef, who was never trained in a German kitchen. I would hire a consultant chef trainer to get this kitchen up to modern standards.
It is neither worth the money, nor the time it took to get there.
Lil spendy but good times for sure. Relaxed place with hearty food
All innovative and delicious!! Schnitzels ti due for = yum!
One of my favorite to go to get some very yummy German food.
If you want to try awesome German eats, you just gotta go! The beer, food , ambiance and service was awesome!
Our go to restaurant.....always satisfied with the authentic German cuisine.
Speisekammer is an amazing restaurant.
The food is delicious and tastes homemade
All the dishes are hearty and good
Bring your appetite.
The service is efficient and great.
The hot chocolate is a treat. Tastes homemade.
The atmosphere is cordial and fun.
I haven’t been to Germany but I feel like I’m there.
Great outdoor seating
It’s a cozy restaurant so I like going when it cold.
Good German food and the band was excellent as well. I recommend Speisekammer for all how to love German food and good music.
Our favorite German restaurant...so reminiscent of many of the restaurants in
Bavaria, loud, fun, active, delicious and entertaining.
An East Bay gem if you appreciate German fare and a large selection of draught German beers.
We had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price
The food was good. The noise level was very very high
We had a very enjoyable experience once again at Speisekammer...
We had a great get together for a 70th birthday party!
Enjoyed the German authentic food and drinks!
Great traditional German vibe for Octoberfest. Good Saturday music. Never disappoints.
It is a good place to hang out with friends!
A perfect Octoberfest meal, Dining outside with steins of beer and a great roast pork!
Love going to Octoberfest. Great beer. Great food overall! .
Great restaurant with good food, large portions and helpful service. It was a bit loud this Saturday due to the large crowd of people that were dining here. Maybe Oktoberfest puts everyone in the mood for German food. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Delicious and great staff!
We just love this place. The food is always good no matter what we get and the staff can always recommend the perfect beer to pair with your food or taste.
Always delicious traditional German food. Great, fast service and amazing spaetzle, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and beer braised pork. The atmosphere is lively and inviting. They had live music on the Friday night we went. A great experience.
Brought my parents that lived in Germany for many years they enjoyed there meal and my dad was Happy to get a good Pilsner! Service was excellent! Parking is a bit tuff but was a 👍 up over all !
We lived in Germany for a year and a half while my husband was serving in the Army. The food at Speisekammer was like being back in Berlin. We had the Jagerschnitzel and Schweinebraten. They were both great! I’d definitely recommend this place for some authentic German food.
Excellent food and the waitress was spectacular. She answered questions and made recommendations at our request. Wonderful service!
SCHWEINEBRATEN is terrific but XYL prefers SAUERBRATEN. Guests had WIENER SCHNITZEL and WEISSKOHL ROULADEN. Great potato pancakes. The beer list cannot be beaten. We visit each trip to Alameda.
Always great food and service here! Lots of fun when there's live music :)
We picked Speisekammer because we hadn’t been there and German food sounded great. We weren’t disappointed. Speisekammer is a charming place with very good food. We all enjoyed the dining and the great selection of beer. The highlight of the evening was the Server Liz. She was friendly,, informative and very helpful. She turned the evening into a real event.
Loved our visit with our friends. Our waitress Erin was amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all our questions with ease. She is a GREAT waitress.
The ambience is wonderful. The decor reminded me of my childhood piano teacher’s European style home in San Francisco, lots of warm old country touches. The food is fantastic. The charcuterie appetizer was a great starter, the small platter of tasty meats, pickles, and a green salad was more than enough for 2, the sauerbraten tri tip was fork cutting tender, and the peach cobbler brought tears to my eyes. The staff is so friendly and completely at your service. All you need do is show up and enjoy!
The service is top notch and the food is very authentic German. I live in Fremont and the commute to Speisekammer is well worth the drive for the food experience. Great beverage selection and there's nothing like live entertainment while enjoying good times with friends and family. Probably the best German dining experience in the Bay area.
What a great neighborhood gem. The food on my last visit was outstanding. Have been here before and the food, only occasionally, had a few misses. What establishment doesn't? The thing is, they keep coming back and doing it well. German food can be a hard sell in the vegan, I won't-eat-it-unless-it's-kale Bay Area. Live a little and go for the carbs. Beer selection good also. Speisekammer is pretty unpretentious but young with a few families thrown in there. Only downside is, wait time can be long as the food takes awhile to get to the table, but worth it. Aside from the standards, which are good, I would heartily recommend the butterfish if available and the oxtails. Street parking can be a problem so be prepared to walk a few blocks.
The food and service is always exceptional. The interior is comfortable and clean, and the patio is wonderful. It can get a little loud inside but that’s just because everyone is enjoying the food and company. In the form of the cafe and patio we enjoyed great music on a Friday as well.
My husband and I took his sister and brother in law here for lunch. They were stationed in Germany so knew what the food should taste like. They had been to other German restaurants and were not impresses. When each one of them took their first bite their comment was "Now this is German food". Each one of us enjoyedoir lynches and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food, nice waiter outside dining, difficult to make a reservation on OpenTable
We arrived at 5:45 for reservations at 5:45. When walking in the inside was again very musty or heavy air as in no air circulation. They need to turn on a fan. We chose the other option and ate outside. It was a little cool outside but better than the blanket of humidity inside.
