Speedy Romeo - Brooklyn Ratings and Reviews
Good pizzas but the burger was kind of average - would not order this again with all of the other pizza options. No cocktails, just wines and beers, which was fine. Service was ok, the server seemed a little nervous and inexperienced but it didn't really detract from the experience. The only thing is that they seated us right next to the door, which kept blasting frigid air to our table. They gave us a small space heater that barely worked. Solid B- experience.
After I watched a youtube video on this restaurant I was curious and inspired to try this spot for "date" night. We had the grilled octopus to start, shared a KC Royale pizza for our main and the chocolate cake for dessert. All I can say is bellissimo, and we'll be back.
I love this place and is my favorite in the neighborhood. They have my favorite orange wine and you will never be disappointed eating here. It's much better to dine in than order take out, especially if you order the pizza. My go-to spot always and making a reservation has never been a problem for me.
We've been to SR a few times before but JD never tried the grilled meats. I have to say the strip steak was amazing (the chimichurri and potatoes accompanying the meat were also great). But the real star was the chicken Parmesan. NOT breaded and fried but grilled and then gently topped with mozzarella, tomato sauce and some bread crumbs... so tender and tasty, who needs the frying or breeding???!!!
We arrived right on time for our reservation and waited only a couple of minutes as they cleared the table. Were seated then right away. Limited menu, and what was offered did not match what was listed on the online menu. However, what we had was tasty, even if the halibut (market fish of the day) was a tad overcooked. A bit too noisy for intimate conversation. Overall, though, our party of six had a great time. And the servers were prompt, friendly and helpful in suggesting a good wine pairing. I would recommend to others without hesitation.
Speedy's was great! Look, it's a super creative neighborhood pizza place in Brooklyn. Really chill, great beer selection, and the pizza was for sure delicious. But, it was a tad overpriced for the size. That said, it IS a super creative neighborhood pizza place in Brooklyn, so what am I to expect?
The pizza and stuffed peppers (spicy, be warned) were delicious though. Beer was awesome. Super relaxing, nice place. Service was top notch. It was great! Definitely check it out.
This was the 3rd or 4th time I've been to Speedy's and it was really disappointing. The Caesar Salad, usually very vibrant, was dull; the roasted artichoke was fine but the salad it rested upon was so lemony that it was inedible; and our KC Royale pizza was overloaded with pepper. It was made worse by the fact that our waitress was indifferent at best, surly at worst. She was busy taking care of a large table at the back of the restaurant and seemed completely bothered to have to deal with us. Other servers who stopped by our table were lovely, however. We'll probably go back, every place has a bad day, but it was a very disappointing visit. Maybe Sunday night was not the best time to go.
Loved the pizza with egg and mushroom.
The pizza with Italian sausage with tomato paste was quite okay for me.
Ceaser salad was really good crispy! but a bit salty.
The service was great but I waited too much long for pizzas...
I would visit again when I go to Brooklyn.
