We have 22 seats at our bar, of which are first come first serve, and you do not need a reservation to join us at the bar. Just simply come to our front door, ring the doorbell and let us know that you are coming in for seats at the bar. We do not take reservations at these bar seats

As good a cocktail bar as you will find anywhere. Very good food with an interesting and varied menu (steak frites, pork in adobo, sausage plates, cheese plates etc). The music, starting at 9:00, features outstanding jazz combos. I come here every time I am anywhere near Albany.

Atmosphere is moody, nice for intimate conversations. Noise is appropriate level from background music. Live jazz band is very nice!

Nice place great drinks and the music was excellent. I will recommend. One issue was that apparently our table was reserved for someone else at a later hour and we were advice that need to move even though we were having drinks. That was not very nice. I can understand and if they ask me to move to the bar it would be nice. Thanks to the ladies in the next table. They saw what happen and offer their table to us. This are the little thing that can ruin the night but it was avoided. Next time I will check how long can we stay in the place before open a reservation. ;)

Speakeasy 518 is incredible and I have been a customer for years. I cannot say the same for the bouncer at City Beer Hall upstairs. He clearly has an ego trip and treats people without respect. The bouncer is rude and trys to intimidate customers. Asked me for 2 forms of I.D even with a valid NYS drivers license after he let in a group of young girls without checking theirs.(No they were not outside smoking)He is a stain on The City Beer Hall. I will never return upstairs unless Sean is gone. I Would like to continue to go to Speakeasy 518 however I find it hard since all the monies go to the same place.

Place is absolutely amazing!! Really makes you feel like you are at a speakeasy. Wait staff is incredibly kind and considerate. Music is outstanding. A must go in Albany!

My boyfriend and I had our first date here and absolutely loved it! We’ve come back a few times during the past year but this past Saturday was a year to the date we had our first date there so we were so happy to celebrate where it all began!
