Spazzo Ratings and Reviews
We had a mixed experience but all in all we had a nice lunch with friends. My friend had a grilled chicken caprese sandwich, her husband had PROSCIUTTO pizza, my husband had eggplant Parmesan and I had a chopped salad. The pizza was delicious, crispy crust and great toppings. My husband’s eggplant was crispy outside, tender and delicious inside. He loved it. My chopped salad had a wonderful creamy Italian dressing that was perfect with the greens, garbanzo beans, chicken and other great ingredients. Unfortunately, the chicken breast in my friend’s sandwich was undercooked and raw. The restaurant took it off of the bill and my friend didn’t want another sandwich. She said that the other veggies and cheese were perfect in the sandwich. The restaurant was gracious and handled the situation as any fine restaurant should.
Hmm, it was OK. The food was good, but a bit pricey. I doubt that I would come back. It was VERY difficult to find in the town center. All we had was an address and that was only good for getting there from the road. The server was good but very chatty with all of his guests. This is why it took us a really long time to just get out check. It wasn't just us either. Several tables around us were trying to figure out just where in the heck the server was! So, negative points for that. The overall service service was good however.
My wife and I were celebrating our 22nd anniversary. We ordered the fried artichokes that came with an aioli sauce for our app which was very good. My wife ordered the eggplant parm and I had the pork chop. We both enjoyed our entrees. Spazzo gave us complimentary creme brulee for dessert.
The servers and staff were so friendly. They created an anniversary card which they all signed for my wife and I as we celebrated our thirtieth anniversary. It was truly the ultimate service gesture that a restaurant could offer. I had eggplant Parmesan which Spazzo's is known for, but it wasn't cooked through. It was tough. Everything else was very good.
Me & my wife came here for our 9th anniversary. Our waitress was awesome! Food came out super fast, food was awesome. They even gave us a complimentary creme brulee and made a card for us that everybody working at the time personally signed. It was very heartwarming and thoughtful.
The service was very slow this particular night due to a large private party. Don't think that management planned for this, so our food was delivered 1 hour and 20 minutes after we arrived. Also, the kitchen had run out of gluten free pasta and we were not notified until after we had ordered, making it a longer wait as we had to re-order.
Terrible experience. Had reserved a table and bottle of wine online and also called to confirm they had the wine i requested as its my girlfriends favorite and it was her birthday dinner.
After we were seated and asked our drink order our waitress responds with "no one told me!" Very rude and unproffesional. They of course did not have it. The manager then came over and apologized, and offered us a different bottle for $135 which is double the price. We chose another bottle.
The appetizers were ok, but not even halfway thru out came out entrees. They took them to the back and brought out our cold clammy pastas/entrees after we finished them, which sucked.
Never brought a desert menu, just a creme brulee which neither of us liked.
Out waitress left without saying a word and we paid the bill to someone else.
Will not be back.
We enjoyed our dinner with the exception of the risotto. I've had risotto all over Italy, and this should not have been called risotto. It tasted like rice baked in a pan with cheese melted on top. Risotto is a short grain rice that is stirred constantly while cooking as seasoning and liquid ingredients are added. It should be creamy and rich. This was neither.
The scallops were very good, and my husband's smoked salmon pasta dish was quite good. Our server recommended the coconut pie and it was super!
The service was very good.
Pretty pricey for a restaurant in a mall.
We went there to celebrate the Mother's Day with booking via open table. One family was turned away due to fully book situation when we arrived. Waited a while while they tried to honor my special request for the seating. Though we agreed with any open table at the end. Service was very good, food was decent. Medium well rib eye steak was fantastic. Seafood combo dish and lamb chop were both very pleasant, though my daughter regretted with the pasta order as it was too cheesy for her liking. We managed to offer her our food and she felt much better after that. Good setting for the restaurant. Price is more on four stars and above category.
Not a good experience. I have been here numerous times but not on Mothers Day. Mistake.
Not to totally blame the server but it was so crowded and not enough servers. Between 15 and 18 minutes before drinks were ordered.
Had to ask for bread.
Food was delicious but not for the price. A bowl of spaghetti and meatballs very small portion for $22.
On top of it all I paid for someone elses dinner and went home with their debit card! Mine was left at the desk.
I've eaten here once before and the service and food were both excellent then. However, on this occasion, we arrived at 5:50 for our 6:00 reservation, and were happy to wait in the bar until our table was ready. At 6:05 the hostess indicated that it was, however our cocktails hadn't yet arrived from the bar. When we asked our bar server to deliver them to our table when they came up, her reply was that we should remain where we were until she delivered them to us, then we were responsible for carrying them to our table. After another 3 minute wait for our drinks, we walked with them back to the hostess station, but she was now engaged in a conversation with someone who had just walked in the door, and there was no one else around to show us to our table. So we stood by the front door, drinks in hand for approx another 5 minutes until someone came to seat us. It was 6:13 when we were finally seated at our table.
Our waitress brought us menus and water promptly, but then we didn't see her again for over 25 minutes! Once we ordered, the kitchen got us our food in a timely manner (it arrived 20 minutes after ordering), and it was delicious. However, because of the slow service it was now 7:05, and we had a 7:30 show we were attending, so felt rushed eating out dinner. We also had to ask for bread service, which we saw other tables get automatically when they were seated.
Ok so this is my second time back mainly because my wife loves the creme brûlée. The last time I gave this place a 4 and this time I am finding it hard to even give it a three.
The reason I gave it a three is the deserts and I love there mac and cheese. That's it. The services was a little better as well.
So the 2 bad things here was the main courses and the value for these.
First my wife ordered the chicken cabanara and paid $10 to add the shrimp. This thing came with 4 small pieces of shrimp. So we paid $2.50 for each piece of shrimp. Will never do that again. And the wife said the Cheesecake Factory had better chicken cabanara.
Second I order a chicken dish (don't recall the name) it came with orzo pasta. Now in the description it didn't say that it comes with broccoli in it. Which I hate. But I happen to see the side dish menu that shows it has broccoli in it so I asked for it with no broccoli. The waiter said sure thing. 25 min later the waiter came back and said they can't take the broccoli out of the orzo so do I want another dish. So I ordered another meal from the menu and 10 min later he come back and said he was confused as my chicken is already done but I need a replacement for the orzo notbthe dish itself. So I said just give me some thing with penne noodles in it. Then around 10 min later they bring my food. And it was this huge plate with 2 small pieces of chicken on it and nothing else. Then they bring me a bowl with just penne noodles and nothing else on it. No sauce just a bowl of dry noodles. So I just dumped my chicken on it and ate. Besides the food being nasty and almost inedible due to the sour flavor of the sauce from the chicken. I got half it done and was just waiting for the desert. (Side note. I know my food was done and sitting there for at least 20 min if not longer before it was brought to me)
So I would recommend this place to friends. But it is just if you like some good deserts and mac&cheese
The location was good. The restuarant was nice inside and the staff was friendly as well as good at their jobs. The food is overpriced and not very good. I had the cabonara (which they made with penne) and it wasn't very good. My wife had the tortellini. Both dishes were pretty bland. Costco tortellini is better than what they were serving. We went for our anniversary to have a nice romantic dinner the vibe of the restaurant is good the food just wasn't. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant overpriced and frankly the dishes we had olive garden does better which isn't saying much.
