From the OpenTable editors: After years of fine dining on the Strip, James Beard semifinalist Brian Howard took the party to Chinatown, and opened his own restaurant Sparrow + Wolf in 2017. A globally inspired menu of wood-fired cooking includes dishes like fresh-baked sourdough, hand-rolled pasta, and innovate plates of seafood. With a dramatic black-and-gold space, a monster mural of a wolf, and late night entertainers, it’s just the right amount of Vegas.

    My rating is on the experience only. The food and wine was great. The staff was kind and wonderful. My experience seemed a little less as a result of the abundant attention given to the table with the “chefs dinner arrangement and the wine pairing”. It felt like my partner and I were being rushed between plates and left little time to enjoy the meals, while enjoying each other over dinner. In hind-site, I would avoid the wine pairing to try and improve my experience and avoid a few more distraction’s. Other than my personal opinion about my experience, the restaurant deserves the best ratings for food taste & presentation; staff service and courtesy.

    In May I went to the restaurant and ordered the tasting menu and it was only two of us and had a great experience. This time I brought the family so we had a total of seven of us. We opted for the restaurant week for course dinner and it was good. I just didn’t care the food was served like family style rather served individually. The noise level was really loud especially we sat next to the table with 12 very loud folks. Our table was directly under an ac vent so the cold air was blowing down non stop so it was not very pleasant. Our server Ruby was fantastic, we are all very pleased with her service.

    The eating experience at Sparrow & Wolf is by far the best restaurant experience I have ever had!! We went with another couple, with myself and the other female having many food allergies and food sensitivities. The wait staff and chefs asked about our sensitivities and then created a menu tailored to the foods we could eat. Not only did they create a masterpiece of mouth-watering and palate-bursting flavors in all their dishes, but we were also able to have a 4-course meal with no concerns for our allergies. We also arrived during restaurant week, so the men in our party had a four-course meal with 8 different dishes, all having the experience of being the most delightful in their palate-enriching, eye-appealing plates they had ever had the experience to eat. Each plate and dish was a piece of art.

    Unique but limited menu items with interesting twists you won’t see at big, corporate restaurants. Foodies only! Wine by glass special was a 23 year aged second growth Bordeaux served at the ideal temperature in a lovely crystal glass. Clearly they care about every aspect of the dining experience. Cocktails sounded divine but we didn’t partake. Small, intimate and romantic with informed wait staff. In Chinatown about 1.5 miles off the strip so a nice reprieve from the casino scene.

    If you want a fantastic food and wine experience, this is the place to go. The service is absolutely exceptional, and the food could not be better. Sparrow & Wolf has one of the best and most knowledgeable sommeliers in Las Vegas. Ask for Nick, the sommelier. You will love him!
