Very nice restaurant. If you’re familiar with Garwood’s at Lake Tahoe, then you’ll like the Sparks Water Bar.

All my previous experiences at the Water Bar have been excellent in every respect, but was disappointed with their Thanksgiving "Special" menu for $65. The turkey was DELI TURKEY, something you slice from a "roll of meat", like you see at a deli. The turkey was not taken directly from a cooked bird, like you would normally have at home or other restaurants that were as upscale as this restaurant was hoping to be on Thanksgiving. Next year I'll ask about this before I plan to eat there.

This was by far the worst service we had received at Sparks Water Bar. Most of the staff were sitting at a table in front of the bar while we waited for different items during our visit. After this visit, I would have to say that I would not recommend Sparks Water Bar.

What a lovely little find in Reno! As much as I absolutely LOVED the ambience and the view, I did feel that the food and service wasn’t on par with the price-point of this restaurant. We found the lobster/crab bisque to be yummy and smooth, the steak to be VERY unevenly cooked with an extremely bland peppercorn gravy, and the pork chop to be interesting and flavorful! So, there’s definitely some inconsistency in terms of quality of flavor when it comes to this menu. Also, in regards to service, I liked our waitress, but she wasn’t as attentive as we wished. It took her ages to come get our entree orders, and the couple seated next to us didn’t even get talked to for their drinks for nearly 20minutes! So, perhaps the staff is more attentive to the guests seated indoors, rather than outdoors? Either way, the manager came out and tried to mend things with the couple next to us, and he also had to take care of getting our check printed and taken care of. He was a nice dude! Maybe we’d give it another go, but sit inside. But, it’s definitely not a priority to come back here any time soon.

This was our first time at Sparks Water Bar! Atmosphere and food were excellent but the service was not great. It started off well but first off, it took forever to get drinks (non alcoholic so should have been quick!) and once we received our food it went downhill from there. We had to get up from the table to find another waiter to bring us more water as our waitress seemed to forget about us. We were having a nice night and enjoying the food and company but no one came by for at least 30 minutes! By the time we finished and had gotten water from (another waitress) we gave up on dessert, thinking it would take another hour for our waitress to help us. Would have given 4-5 stars but the service was so bad, only giving 3 as it really put a damper on our fun night out.

This is a favorite restaurant of ours. We have never had a bad meal. The food is outstanding and the service great. It is on the pricey side, which is the only downside.

Great service except entree was delivered before we completed our appetizers. And servers offering carry out boxes before we were really done eating. I do think otherwise service was excellent and food wonderful. My daughter visiting said the best food we’ve had here, and we’ve eaten at top places. Absolutely gorgeous view and sunset. I’ll be back.

Perfect meal, except for the outside seating noise level - probably the fault of what seemed like a bachelorette party group in the same area. Otherwise, a beautifully prepared bourbon glazed salmon on mashed potatoes topped by crispy sweet potato fries. Friendly service. Great place for a special date.

A very pleasant and fun place to visit with a menu and wine list that will fit anyone's tastes and pocket. The view overlooking the water from either outside or inside is a great added plus. Staff from the general manager to the manager to the wait staff were all very friendly professionals.

We honestly didn’t have the highest hopes for this place. Wow!!! We were completely wrong. Staff was amazing. Our server knew every item on the menu in detail. He knew when to check on us and when to not interrupt the conversation. The food was fantastic! I’m not a fish lover but decided to try it anyway. If every place served fish this fresh and flavorful, I’d order it every time. Each person at our table loved their meal. Scallops cooked perfectly. Salmon moist and flakey. Thanks to the entire staff at Waterbar for making a simple evening one we’ll remember.

Carb cakes were clearly premade/store bought and too much breading, lobster/shrimp bisque was so thick it was more like a dip. It should be thick but not that thick! Also, heavy on the salt, we count finish it. Steak was ok, but the shrimp scampi was awful. The shrimp were cooked nicely but the sauce is not a traditional scampi sauce, it is this horribly thick cream sauce which the shrimp were drowned in. Dessert was alright. Overall, everything was over salted and not worth the price. Server was covering so many tables it was hard for him to give anyone the proper attention. The location is nice.

Kim was awesome on the phone and very nice when we needed to adjust our reservation time. Our waiter, Trent, was quirky and very personable which was a nice change of pace from other waiters we have recently had where they barely say two words. He was also extremely attentive and recognized what we needed before we spoke it. The drinks were fabulous and the food was divine...we got the herb roasted chicken, the bourbon salmon, and the swordfish - WOW! The ambiance was perfect and the outdoor seating is done right - enough of the outdoors but as comfortable as being indoors. We can't wait to go back!

First time trying out Sparks Water Bar. When we went in we were very impressed with the place. It was very spectacular and we were very excited thinking we have found a great new restaurant. Appetizers crab cakes were wonderful. Then sadly it went downhill from there. Ribeye steak was over cooked and at $49.00 that was very disappointing. I had clams and a Caesar salad. Clams were tasteless, no flavor and I don’t know if they were over cooked but were very strange consistency. My friend also had the same as I and didn’t like the clams. Caesar salad had wilted lettuce and was not a true Caesar but had a lemon dressing, which to be fair is what the menu said but I didn’t like flavor. Sadly we will not be going back. The place is beautiful and a real addition to Sparks but the meal just didn’t live up to our expectations, especially for the price. I am sorry to give this review and I wasn’t going to say anything but I kept getting these survey so decided maybe they want to know.

Everything was wonderful as usual. The manager on duty (sorry forget her name) was SOoo gracious and helpful as our waiter had seemed to forget us. She comped up a cocktail which certainly made up for our “feeling forgotten”. We will be back !!

Great menu and food. Don’t have to drive to the lake to get a Wet Woody—same company as Garwood’s. View is fantastic—Mt Rose, Slide Mt and Peavine all in one panoramic swoop.
