So glad the new ownership kept many of the favorites on the menus. Rack of lamb (my favorite) food as always. Pan seared scallops were fantastic. The new chef included his personal touch to the scallops. They were delicious. They kept the umbrellas and added a few more of differing colors. Service as great as always. Were initially seated near a group of young women celebration a birthday. The noise and chatter was too much. Asked to be seated in a quite area a and they were very accommodating. Desert rack as good as ever. Many of the favorites still there. Did have a cherry crisp which we haven't seen before. It was delicious. They are planning a special menu in the near future with many of the old favorites. Cann't wait . All of the old charm is still there except the wooden dogs and parorts. Misss them since we knew the artist for many years (too Bad). I have seen many of previous patrons marvel over those sculptures.
No conterns thar the old Spagios has changed. As great as ever. Always a plesant evening dining there. We'll be back.
Unfortunately there was a mix up in the kitchen and it took forever to receive our food. The restaurant took a percentage off the bill and gave us complimentary desserts which was appreciated. Unfortunately 3/5 of us didn’t even finish ours meals as we didn’t really care for them. Love downtown Grandview but unfortunately we will not return.
A great spot keeps getting better-like the updated look.
Service with Jason was great. Seafood pasta was great. Hadn't been there for a number of years and will go back soon.
We had delicious food but the wait time far exceeded reasonable. The manager even came to table and apologized but that was it. It was a week day and not that busy. We let the waitress know we were starved and she acknowledged it was too long and I suspected that is why manager came over to say he was checking on it. That was nice but apology and dessert or adjustment on our bill was in order. After food finally came out it was like nothing ever happened.
Too many choices these days to not make experience right.
I had the Weiner Schnitzel and the pork was tough. My wife's dip of some type was really more like a pate than a dip. The service was great as usual.
We waited at our table for 15 minutes and no one ever came to even bring water. I told the host but still no one came. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded so that doesn’t explain the lack of service. We finally got up and left. We told the host we were leaving and he didn’t seem to care.
Our server Daniella very attentive and helpful with information about the menu.
Valet was no where to be found. Inside they don’t have his number and he came back 15 minutes later. We barely made it to Ohio theater in time
The food and service were good, the overall experience just felt like an outdated concept. It was quite expensive too. I would expect a newer, trendier experience or a better value.
We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff were wonderful! They intentionally sat us at the best table, wished us a happy anniversary and were so attentive! Spagio is special to us, thanks to fantastic food and service!
We were seated at 7. Our waitress came to our table within 10 minutes; however, we weren’t sure of our drink order so she poured water and gave us fresh bread, saying she would return in a few minutes. After 30 minutes, she returned, apologizing profusely and said the kitchen was backed up and they were having some trouble. We placed our drink order and them waited another 15 minutes to place our food order. Once we ordered, our food came within 15-20 minutes, but the food quality was not worth the wait. Lobster bisque was runny; summer pasta was bland—nothing special; our kids ordered the Gorgonzola pasta with chicken and did not care for the sauce, and chicken was marginal. Also ordered a pizza—nothing special, and a Chopped Salad, which was “meh”.
We had been to the restaurant several years ago and what a great experience and were excited to be back in town to visit again. Definitely not as we remembered it and the food was underwhelming especially for the price.
2 soups came out cold -sent back-they brought back the wrong soups. Sauce with 2 entrees came out cold—sent back—came out cold again. All 4 meals were compted but server never came back to our table. Awful Awful Awful!!!!!
Spagio is a place to go for some originality as well as quality of food and service. Too many restaurants in Columbus are just copycat and can offer nothing more than novel atmospheres or simple proximity as an appeal. Spagio is worth the trip.
Brought friends from out of town to Spagios for their first time. Everything was great, food was very good as was the service. Will be back.
My boyfriend and I were the only customers in the restaurant who weren’t 50+ and the servers ignored us for 10 mins until we got up and said something.
We were delighted to be seated outside on a lovely evening. But after sitting there for 30 minutes, we finally went to track down our waiter. We then waited another 15 minutes for our wine -- and another 30 minutes for our dinners (which came mostly lukewarm). Not an evening to reminisce about....
Party of 9...previously one of my favorite spots. Sadly, service was erratic, one diner, whose order was completely wrong waited 15 min for correction. One diner requested iced tea 4 tomes to no avail. Worst of all, the prime rib special was so tough...had to saw off bites. Don't know if any of this was related to announcement earlier in day that Spagios had been sold. So disappointing after great years, but there were no apologies and no offer of partial comp.
Loved the Cauliflower pizza crust! They have a nice happy hour if you’re in the bar so we enjoyed drinks at the bar then dined outdoors
We have dined at Spagio’s since it was the Gourmet Market!!! This time was to celebrate my wife’s birthday. As usual, we were greeted by Helga and had a warm, sincere conversation.
The food was outstanding!!! Our waitress was charming and the evening was so memorable.
The seafood ravioli is fabulous as well as the scallops dish. Still one of the best in Columbus!
Halibut special with asparagus and mushroom reduction was fabulous. Rock music was annoying, piano music would be better.
The menu never disappoints, I don’t think there is anything I’ve tried here that I wouldn’t tell people you have to go to Spagio just for that and this weekend it was the seafood chopinio
Always a favorite
Excellent food, adult beverages and service.
Cocktails were mostly ice, though beer was fine. Service was attentive to food allergies, but slow. It seemed that on that night, they were short of staff in the kitchen or dining room.
Everything was fantastic. Our waiter made the night. His personality and impeccable service was amazing. SPAGIO rules!!
The service was slow and our server seemed to be trying a little too hard to fit into a nice restaurant setting. The Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc we ordered were excellent, but the food was mediocre. Not what I recall from having been at Spagio in the past and not really something I’d recommend to others.
Service was incredibly slow
This was my first time at Spagio, and I am in love. Everything was so good. It's definitely worth returning!
Spagio remains consistently one of the finest restaurants in Columbus. They have great Sunday specials as well, so if you are looking for a quality dining experience, you should go to Spagio.
They have a great menu and their desserts are really nice! It wasn't too crowded but it was fairly noisy considering the number of people who where there. Their bathrooms could be updated.
We reserved the large table behind the hostess area in the bar area. We we attending the Grandview hop! The food and service was perfect! Thank you so much!
It was a beautiful evening, so we were able to sit outside. The prime rib was delicious, the service was great, and the ambience was perfect. Our out-of-town guest loved the food and the neighborhood atmosphere.
Great food, great service. Excellent portions flavorable. Celebrated 53rd wedding anniversary. Great time. Love to sit by window and watch people walking their dogs or groups walking down to Jenie's ice cream for evening snack. I'll take Spagios desserts anytime iver Jeniws ice cream. Always a fun filled experience. Best rack of lamb in town.
Always love Spagio’s
With going for restaurant week, one is looking for a new favorite place to dine. The experience there was not work the $30. Appetizer portions we're not what we expected. Main course looked like a microwave dinner, no flavor and horrible presention. For what we paid, I would have expected more for my money.
We were celebrating a wedding anniversary which was acknowledged as soon as we arrived. We were seated promptly, but the table had an uneaten dinner role underneath our chair and a lot of crumbs. This was quickly cleared by the seating hostess. The tables and carpet looked a bit rough. Service was attentive. The Spagio salad was excellent. Lobster bisque was good but heavily salted. Chicken fettuccine was very good. The Prime Ribeye was cooked perfectly but heavily salted also. Dessert was the blueberry bread pudding which was decent, and the chocolate decadence ( on the house for our anniversary) was very good.
All in all, the food was good - but heavy on the salt - and the service attentive. We would go back but the cleanliness was a bit lacking.
We went for restaurant week and it was delicious! My husband ordered off the regular menu and I did restaurant week and we both loved our food! Great list of cocktails as well. Highly recommend!
Restaurant Week date was a success!
