Spaghettini Grill and Jazz Club Ratings and Reviews
Very nice restaurant is very nice and in a good location. We came for lunch on a Saturday. Our server was very nice and really on top of things. He was extremely patient and helpful. The food was good, two of us ordered pasta with seafood and the seafood was a little over cooked, but not terrible. Our other friend ordered gluten free pasta with seafood, garlic, olive oil, garlic and crushed red peppers. Her's was delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back again.
We had 8 people in our party. It took a long time for the drinks to come. A person in our party ordered a soup that was not served with a spoon so we ended up walking up to the bar to get a spoon because we had been waiting so long. 3 of the dishes were served cold. And lastly the bread was awful. We were very disappointed. Not sure if we will ever return.
I love the horseradish crusted halibut but chose the rack of lamb. It wasn’t as good as I remembered not seasoned enough for me. Someone else had short ribs another had the pommeroy shrimp and the fourth person had the halibut. All were very satisfied
We missed Teresa our favorite but Courtney took good care of us
Tonight I came here with my husband to enjoy a place that I had wanted to try for years because I heard how great it was from the Jazz station I listen to.
When we arrived we were greeted and everything seemed to be going well, front staff was very pleasant. We went outside to wait to be seat (we got there before our reservation time). We were listening to the music, which I thought was supposed to be nice Jazz songs. But we had to listen to Bruno Mars techno version of "That's What I Like". Other various techno songs continued to play after that, we felt like we were in a club. Not classy at all for a restaurant that is supposed to be more upscale. Music played through the restaurant like that all night...
Service was very good. They were quick to remove empty plates and fill glasses before they were empty and so on, no complaints there, and the food was great!!
It was just the atmosphere and the weird music. It was also very hot in the place, couldn't feel any air. It was a disappointment for sure.
Spaghettini is our tradition to celebrate our anniversary. We have been dining there for over 20 years. The food is always amazing, the short ribs always one of my favorites. The wait staff is excellent. So many good memories at Spaghettini! I would highly recommend it and it is an wonderful place to celebrate that special occasion!
The evening atmosphere was great, the food was good and attractive...everyone at our party enjoyed their dish! After dinner we attended the Jazz concert...everything was very well organized and the atmosphere was very comfortable, relaxed and cozy. We all had a very good time!
Enjoyed an outstanding anniversary dinner. Our server (Courtney) was very pleasant and helpful. Had reservations and the host sat us immediately. The after dinner bar scene was very energetic and the music very entertaining.
Would recommend Spaghettini for business, casual or special occasion dining!
Spaghettini has never disappointed us for their food, ambiance and service! This time we had Courtney again. Her smile and attentiveness to our needs was superlative! Please don't miss the gluten free pizza bread with marinara sauce before the meal! It is delicious and we often order a second one as one is never enough! Don't let the word "gluten free" dissuade you from ordering it, as you will forever regret it!
Always a favorite for many reasons!
My son took me there for my 47th birthday dinner. I expressed to him that I wanted to go to Spaghettini because of the good food and live jazz! We had a fantastic time with our family and I would definitely go there again. I even received a beautiful birthday photo taken with Chef Victor! Best Time Ever!!!
I ordered a Caesar salad (13.00) that I intended to split with a coworker because I also ordered a pizza (19.00) The server announced to my coworker that the spaghetti and meatball plate he ordered (20.00) was a special that night and included a salad (no visible special advertisement posted)
I considered the salad pricey for a pretty plain romaine salad that was moderate in size. Other upscale restaurants I frequent in San Diego include shaved Parmesan, anchovies or olive topinaude and a cracker or bread accompanied accent, even protein options at this price. I would return but I would ask more questions about the menu details.
We've been going to your restaurant for many, many years and although it's usually for special occasions, it's always been a great experience we could count on. We made a reservation for 6:46 p.m. and arrived exactly on time, yet had to wait about 20+ minutes. When seated, we asked why we had to wait so long since the restaurant was half empty; we were told some employees had not come to work that night. Our waitress was courteous and we informed her we were celebrating a birthday and also had reservations in the bar to see the band "Peet Project." Our meal was ok but not great. The lobster raviolis were quite dry and a little undercooked. The salmon dish was very good and as always - the roasted brussel sprouts were amazing. When we finished our meal, we tried to get the waitresses' attention; we even tried to flag her down but she didn't seem to notice us. Meanwhile the music had already started and we were getting anxious to transfer to the bar. When she came to our table, we told her we wanted the bill and she seemed surprised and (sheepishly) said she would bring us the birthday dessert there instead. We transferred to the bar and a few minutes later a young lady came in and took our picture... with a camera that looked like it was dated back to the 80's! Since it was dark, we couldn't really see the picture but sadly, when we got home, the picture was very grainy and lacked detail - in contrast to the picture from last year... and .. the year before. What kind of a red camera was that? Had we known, I would have given her my IPhone. Now, the "morceau de resistance"; would you believe we sat there for two sets of music and NEVER ONCE did your staff ever approach us and ask us if we wanted a drink. Our table was dry for the remainder of the night. On a positive note; the band was great and we really enjoyed their music.
Famous for good jazz, the performance was a sellout. No matter because my wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner celebrating my wife’s birthday as well as listening to the background sounds of jazz music. Our attentive server even gave us a photo of us enjoying dinner and a complementary dessert. Thanks for a memorable evening!
We were a little late for our reservation due to the drive from our home in Laguna Beach and the traffic we encountered. The hostess that greeted us at the reservation desk when you first walked in made it sound as those because we were 10 or 15 minutes late we couldn't be seated.
I was appalled and had to let her know we drove up from Laguna Beach and I was trying to surprise my wife with a lunch date with her brother, and his wife, that we had not seen in several months, he and his wife were driving in from Agoura Hills in the Valley (at least 1.5 hour drive). Someone in management needs to talk to the hostess that was on duty Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00 P.M. On the other hand, once we were finally seated, our waitress was awesome and made it all good and told us not to hurry and that we were fine. Champagne flowed and we Left happy and full. Thank you waitress that lives in Niguel.
