   Outstanding spot for cocktails and small bites (we ate in the bar over cocktails. Expertly and carefully prepared small plates and cocktails make this a perfect get-together spot. Cant wait to come back with my significant other; Southwark seems to be a perfect spot for special-occasion dining. Also the perfect “local” fo solid cocktails and wine by the glass.

   Food was terrific; some of the best gnocchi I've ever had, and the squash wellington was absolutely delicious. Bar was very crowded and noisy, but seating area in back was relatively quiet. Pretty attentive and very helpful service. Only downside were the specialty cocktails, which were not very good (should have stayed with simpler Manhattans and Gimlets) although perhaps this was because the bar was superbusy; wines by the glass were very nice, though. Will definitely come back (especially when the weather is nice and the patio is open).

   The food was great....servers were kind and friendly. The only critique is that our waitress never returned to the table to ask if my husband has wanted another cocktail after dinner was delivered.

    Met a friend for what I thought would be a quick drink and maybe a bite. We ended up having such a nice time at the bar that we decided to stay for dinner. What an incredible experience! Masterful cocktails, every bite better than the last...warm service all around. Will definitely be in heavy rotation.

    Made a wonderful impression on our guests who had never been to the Southwark dining room. The service and food were excellent. I did not know olives could be so good! Entrée choices including pasta selections were varied enough for everyone to be happy. Special mention must be made that the cocktails were too good for words to describe. A little noisy with a full dining room but still able to have conversations.

    Still just a gem - especially on Wednesday evenings when it is BYO. The food is always excellent to off-scale. Highly recommend trying the mussels escabeche; pastas are always incredible. Looking forward to many more.

    A very good meal, prepared with fine ingredients. Be sure to stick with the wine: my cocktail was barely drinkable, and my wife's cocktail was truly disgusting.

    The food and ambiance at Southwark are both amazing. Food is always fresh and delicious. Menu changes routinely, so there is always something new to try! Love this restaurant. Perfect for date night.

    This place was awesome. Sat at the bar and Wes, the bartender, was super friendly, plus he made AWESOME drinks. Highly recommend doing the "dealers choice" where you just let the bartender make you something. As far as food goes, we only ordered the ravioli and gnocchi, but they were perfect. Gnocchi were the fluffiest I've ever had, and the Ravioli were perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be back.

    Beef tartare and pork belly were excellent! Our service was friendly but rushed, which seemed odd because the restaurant was DEAD. Our second course was served before we were done with our first. Not sure why such a great place was so sparse on a Thurs night but we enjoyed our meal and I will return!

    This place was really romantic and a great deal of fun. The wine list is good and I’d definitely recommend for a romantic dinner or just going out and enjoying some wine with a friend or two.

    Southwark was recommendation by a coworker when I complained about the lack luster food and drinks at a different restaurant. Southwark did not disappoint, and coincidentally had named their new drink in honor of my all-time favorite, Patrick Swayze (I had 2). They were also extremely accommodating to our friend who is allergic to every food under the sun. Great experience!

    I've lived in Philly.for over 10 years and this was no joke one.of the better dining experiences. The food and drinks were both well executed and just damn good! Will be returning and I suggest you do the same.

    Love this place, great neighborhood spot with local/seasonal dishes, handmade pastas are spectacular and the cocktails are some of the best in the city. The service is friendly either at the bar or in back dining room and try the patio seating on a nice night, its decorated with growing herbs and vegetables!
