My friends and I had an amazing time at Southern Hospitality. We got the bottomless Bellini, WORTH IT!
First time and won’t be the last. Great spot & great food!
Had a great time here. Read all the reviews and finally decided on having my mini birthday brunch here. Had a reservation so that went smoothly. Service was great and the food was so yummy. I had the crab cakes with/tater totes and boy was it good (I'm not even a big meat eater but I found myself looking for more). The space is kind've tight so if you're a larger party(more than 4), definitely make a reservation and see if you can get tables combined.
Everything was amazing
In the heart of Adams Morgan (i.e. take an Uber or metro to avoid traffic and parking challenges) the restaurant provides huge portions for brunch. Enjoyed the bottomless mimosas, although you'll only need 1 carafe shared with a friend if you're a lightweight like me. Our server, Lena, was phenomenal. So accommodating and made sure we were covered with our food, drink, and comfort needs. My chicken sandwich was awesome, substituted with my salad (trying to make good decisions with my food...no fries please). Would I go back, sure. More so for the ambiance and great staff.
We went for a lunch on my girlfriends birthday. Honestly anything on this menu is delicious and I would highly recommend it for a meal.
First time visiting and loved it. They accommodated my business group and put us in a rea that was low noise. The food was excellent. The service was great.. I will come back again.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. I’m never disappointed when I choose this place!!
My issue was being stuck at a table in the corner where I couldn’t even move my chair over because beside me was a brick walls and behind me was a brick fire place. If I had moved the table to other side of me I would’ve hit another guest at another table. Although my food was a little good when I got it, it was very good.
My second time eating here! The same great service and food!
Great place to get together with friends. The menu is fun to choose from.. you're either going to go in one of two directions: ball out and have the chicken and waffles or still have a delicious meal and order one of their salads. $16 bottomless mimosas makes it fun for a weekend brunch! They played a lot of R&B sing-alongs which puts anyone in a good mood.
Was in Adams Morgan area for brief stint.found this place..love love loved it..especially bottomless mimosasas..its a must!!
Great service, great food. Was looking for a place to have brunch with my parents for my bday, this was a great spot. Waitress was excellent, variety of brunch options, and food was good!
This was my first time here! If you want a noisy social scene the bar downstairs is perfect! If you want a quiter bar and relaxed scene, walk up the stairs! A perfect place to have conversation, and just enjoy hanging out with a friend or two! Victoria the bartender is a thoughtful, pleasant and knowledgeable bartender! We ordered the lambchop appitizer! Delicious, would have liked 3 pieces, but that’s ok. Then we ordered the flank steak salad, the meat was tender and delicious! My friend and i shared, it was plenty of food! To top it off we had the apple pie and ice cream! Yummy. They also, have a nice wine selection! Will definitely go back soon!
Some of my friends’ food were cold but otherwise it was ok
Had the best food and atmosphere. When I visit D.C. again I will be going to his restaurant!!
The food was tasty and the serving sizes were plentiful! However one food order was incorrect so it had to be sent back and we had to continuously ask our server to refill our bottomless mimosa glasses. Our server also tried to rush us out by giving us the check after we finished eating (about an hour in) but bottomless mimosas lasted for 2 hours. We had to hide the check so she would stop asking for it. I understand you need to flip tables but if customers purchased bottomless mimosas with a 2 hour limit dont rush them.
Delicious food, good prices, attentive service. Music seemed a little loud for our taste, but otherwise a very enjoyable meal.
So let me start by saying that the food was amazing! However the wait staff acted like I was inconveniencing them, odd for a restaurant with hospitality in the name of it. We were sat and left, then back to ask for drinks or anything to get started. We placed the small plate order and received the small plate before the server asked for our main entree. I sat there without water for quite a while and anytime she did manage to come over she had an attitude. I was a server for many years through college and would have been embarrassed for myself with that type of attitude. It would have been slightly more acceptable with a crowd but we were one of a few people in there. I spend a lot of time on business within my company, along with several coworkers and I would hesitate to recommend it just based on the service, sad since the food was so good. But I don’t enjoy sitting in a place where I felt like I was imposing on their evening.
Dinner was excellent. Service was awesome. Oysters were the best treat. Will be back, will recommend.
Really noisy, too noisy!
The restaurant was LOUD but the food was good. It was also a bit chilly, especially in the back near the restroom.
The food was great...my sister, wife and myself ate really good. Chicken was moist and tender. Shrimp n Grits, a must have.
I expected a better seasoned meal. Our food wasn't bad but maybe my expectations were just too high. Our crab cake poached egg brunch was just OK. Our waitress seemed a bit hungover as she continued to drink a bloody mary while serving our table. Nice enough, but forgot things and never checked to refill our water, etc. Clearly her body was there but her mind was not.
Came here for my bday 12.18 had reservations and was greeted and seated immediately with 2 of my friends! The appetizers were so good i got full but still ordered an entree. The waitress was very nice and pleasant! They even gave us a round of shots and cake and ice cream for my bday! Overall an A+ experience and definitely coming back and would recommend this restaurant. Southern Hospitality at its best!!!!!!
This restaurant claims that brunch is over at 4:00pm, but i got there at 3:30 and they would not serve me from the brunch menu nor would they even serve me and my guest mimosas. If i would have known i wouldn’t have came to eat there. The service was also lackluster and there weren’t many people there. Once food wa served our waitress didn’t even come to check on us. I was very disappointed.
We were early for our reservation but still seated right away. Our waitress was knowledgeable and quick. Our food was very good portions and all tasted great.
My friends and I visited D.C. To celebrate my birthday and had brunch here. Everything was amazing. From getting a confirmation phone call for our reservation the night before which I thought was really nice, to being accommodated with a last minute time change, to the actual food, it was all spectacular and I would absolutely return! Thank you for your wonderful service and great food!
The food was great just that the service wasn’t all that good
I ordered the fried chicken Benedict. While the biscuit was delicious, the chicken was very rubbery. I had a few bites of the chicken before I decided to take it off the biscuit completely. I felt quite sick a few hours later...I probably would not go back.
Loved the food - LOVED. Drinks were a great value. Place was packed and loud when we arrived but died down to a comfortable decibel level during dinner. Service was average but our server was also very busy.
The fried chicken is amazing!! The noise level was a loud, but we were seated in the upstairs area that was quieter!
Victoria was awesome. Food was amazing and bottomless brunch is the way to go!
Awesome bottomless mimosas! Great brunch and atmosphere!
The food and drink were great! I wish the waitress would have lived up to the name of the restaurant "Southern Hospitality." She was not even friendly and it was awkward conversing with her. Not our usual brunch experience in D.C.
The food here is amazing! I loved everything we got. Absolutely go. You won't be disappointed
We wanted good food and that is exactly what we received!
SoHo never upsets. The food is always amazing. Great attentive service and an awesome musical selection.
We had an absolutely amazing time celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday at SH! I would definitely recommend and plan to return. Food was amazing, drinks, service and overall ambience was fantastic.
My husband and I took some visiting family members to this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night. The staff did a decent job of adding a table when we realized we had miscounted our party, though we did have to ask them twice to move the table. Aside from that, our server was attentive (almost too much, as she took plates that weren't ready to be cleared a couple of times), and the food was great! Our entire group was happy with what they ordered, and we ordered a variety of dishes, so that says a lot for the food. My only other concern was that it was difficult for our elderly family members to climb the stairs, though I know that can't be "fixed". However, it would be good for others to know that if they have mobility problems, they should request to be seated on the first floor. Despite that, I would definitely return!
