Southern Hospitality Ratings and Reviews
Great place to get together with friends. The menu is fun to choose from.. you're either going to go in one of two directions: ball out and have the chicken and waffles or still have a delicious meal and order one of their salads. $16 bottomless mimosas makes it fun for a weekend brunch! They played a lot of R&B sing-alongs which puts anyone in a good mood.
This was my first time here! If you want a noisy social scene the bar downstairs is perfect! If you want a quiter bar and relaxed scene, walk up the stairs! A perfect place to have conversation, and just enjoy hanging out with a friend or two! Victoria the bartender is a thoughtful, pleasant and knowledgeable bartender! We ordered the lambchop appitizer! Delicious, would have liked 3 pieces, but that’s ok. Then we ordered the flank steak salad, the meat was tender and delicious! My friend and i shared, it was plenty of food! To top it off we had the apple pie and ice cream! Yummy. They also, have a nice wine selection! Will definitely go back soon!
The food was tasty and the serving sizes were plentiful! However one food order was incorrect so it had to be sent back and we had to continuously ask our server to refill our bottomless mimosa glasses. Our server also tried to rush us out by giving us the check after we finished eating (about an hour in) but bottomless mimosas lasted for 2 hours. We had to hide the check so she would stop asking for it. I understand you need to flip tables but if customers purchased bottomless mimosas with a 2 hour limit dont rush them.
So let me start by saying that the food was amazing! However the wait staff acted like I was inconveniencing them, odd for a restaurant with hospitality in the name of it. We were sat and left, then back to ask for drinks or anything to get started. We placed the small plate order and received the small plate before the server asked for our main entree. I sat there without water for quite a while and anytime she did manage to come over she had an attitude. I was a server for many years through college and would have been embarrassed for myself with that type of attitude. It would have been slightly more acceptable with a crowd but we were one of a few people in there. I spend a lot of time on business within my company, along with several coworkers and I would hesitate to recommend it just based on the service, sad since the food was so good. But I don’t enjoy sitting in a place where I felt like I was imposing on their evening.
I expected a better seasoned meal. Our food wasn't bad but maybe my expectations were just too high. Our crab cake poached egg brunch was just OK. Our waitress seemed a bit hungover as she continued to drink a bloody mary while serving our table. Nice enough, but forgot things and never checked to refill our water, etc. Clearly her body was there but her mind was not.
Came here for my bday 12.18 had reservations and was greeted and seated immediately with 2 of my friends! The appetizers were so good i got full but still ordered an entree. The waitress was very nice and pleasant! They even gave us a round of shots and cake and ice cream for my bday! Overall an A+ experience and definitely coming back and would recommend this restaurant. Southern Hospitality at its best!!!!!!
This restaurant claims that brunch is over at 4:00pm, but i got there at 3:30 and they would not serve me from the brunch menu nor would they even serve me and my guest mimosas. If i would have known i wouldn’t have came to eat there. The service was also lackluster and there weren’t many people there. Once food wa served our waitress didn’t even come to check on us. I was very disappointed.
My friends and I visited D.C. To celebrate my birthday and had brunch here. Everything was amazing. From getting a confirmation phone call for our reservation the night before which I thought was really nice, to being accommodated with a last minute time change, to the actual food, it was all spectacular and I would absolutely return! Thank you for your wonderful service and great food!
I ordered the fried chicken Benedict. While the biscuit was delicious, the chicken was very rubbery. I had a few bites of the chicken before I decided to take it off the biscuit completely. I felt quite sick a few hours later...I probably would not go back.
My husband and I took some visiting family members to this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night. The staff did a decent job of adding a table when we realized we had miscounted our party, though we did have to ask them twice to move the table. Aside from that, our server was attentive (almost too much, as she took plates that weren't ready to be cleared a couple of times), and the food was great! Our entire group was happy with what they ordered, and we ordered a variety of dishes, so that says a lot for the food. My only other concern was that it was difficult for our elderly family members to climb the stairs, though I know that can't be "fixed". However, it would be good for others to know that if they have mobility problems, they should request to be seated on the first floor. Despite that, I would definitely return!
The restaurant wasn't crowded when we arrived for our reservation so we were seated right away. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and drinks. Both arrived in good time. We also ordered our entrees when we ordered the appetizer and drinks and the entrees came our moments after we finished the appetizer. My husband orders the pulled pork with cheese and french fries and did not seem thrilled with his meal. I ordered the salmon which was very tasty and cooked to order. Overall, the restaurant did not "wow" us, but we did enjoy ourselves.
We were sat outside next to an incredibly loud table of 10. We politely asked to sit inside and the manager acted like it was quite an inconvenience for him. The food was fair- it tasted like a boxed frozen dinner, but cooked in the oven instead of the microwave.
