Was sadly the last day I would be brunching at southern Hospitality. Not a lot of food options. Wanted to end it with a bang with the lamb burger but had to go for the almost as good chicken and waffles. Thanks to our Waters’s sorry I don’t recall your name. Definitely a brunch spot that will be missed. Looking forward to trying Scarlet Oak
So sad to learn that SoHo was closing for good. Happy to have made it in for a final brunch before its final goodbye.
It was odd that we had a reservation yet someone walked in and got a table in the same area ahead of us. It would not have been a big deal but, they had us wait. The server was fantastic, and made the experience.
Southern Hospitality's management and staff go above and beyond!
Food was decent but nothing I would rave about. It wasn’t bad, which is good.
I have been a fan since I discovered it 6 years ago. While never having been a 'bar' person, I found it comfortable and filled with amazing people (I specifically refer to management and employees). I am distressed to know that it is closing next Sunday, but am happy to know I can visit some of their other spaces.
SoHo: Thanks for being such a lovely experience.
Great food get the Chesapeake. Drinks awesome too. Service was ok.
Expecting more of a southern menu. Even with the limited choices of southern inspired foods they were not particularly noteworthy. Price for food expensive and not worth it. Had to sit outside which was ok but the table was on a slope making it a bit uncomfortable. To go inside it was very noisy because it was a bar with multiple TV’s on at the same time not conducive a nice relaxing dinner.
We ordered chicken from the brunch menu. Tasteless with no texture.
My group had a great time kicking off our Pride celebration with brunch at SoHo! The food was great and the drinks were strong! Thanks for the amazing experience!
I really enjoyed the food. The service was also good and they didn't rush us out which was nice.
Celebrated my 21st birthday brunch here and had an absolute BLAST! The staff were amazing, the food was great and fast. The fruit served with our entrees was some of the best I have had in DC so far! The bottomless mimosas were even better and did not stop! I was slightly worried about the 2 hour max you were allowed there, but service was great and fast so I didn't even notice! The hostess even brought out complimentary coffee shots for the table to enjoy! Can't wait to go back!
SoHo is one of the jewels of D.C. , they were more than accommodating for a party of 9. It is a shame they will be closing at the end of the summer.
Went for Brunch on a Saturday. The bottomless mimosas were in fact bottomless and the food was great. Our waitress disappeared and didn’t come back until the end of our meal. The bartender tended to us and made sure we had what we needed. Overall pretty good experience.
Great food and family friendly. The staff was on point and the food was even better than we expected. Highly recommended.
First time attending for a friend’s birthday. Great food, great friends, excellent service! What more can you ask for? We had a wonderful time here. I don’t believe you will be disappointed!
I came here for dinner with my family when they came to DC. We got there about 45 minutes before the kitchen closed so we made sure to put the orders in fast. Some of the food came out really well, like the shrimp pasta, while the SoHo fried chicken was kind of disappointing as it’s supposed to be their favorite dish. It’s also was just a panko breaded chicken breast. But they did give us a free cheesecake which was great
Food and service was good. We did choose to sit at a high top in the bar area, but it was very loud and dark. Difficult to have a conversation at the table.
Great food. Great staff.
Great waiter, delicious chicken and waffles, great brunch overall.
First time. Came for Saturday mid-morning breakfast; not busy but other patrons began streaming in.
Waiter was attentive and helpful. Some servings, for example chicken and waffles or fried green tomatoes,
were large enough that it could be easily shared. Both dishes were delicious but be careful if you’re not
a fan of cumin which both shared. Arugula salad was bright and snappy. Overall a great value. Just remember,
by custom, Southerners like to keep the food coming at you.
Went for a early Mother’s Day dinner. Had the Shrimp and Grits appetizer; delish! Son had the Chicken/Mac and I had Chicken/waffles; Devine. Drinks were super good also. Atmosphere/service was great. Friendly staff. If you want comfortable surroundings and great food this is the place to try!
Good food and service and not ridiculously priced. Would like to come on a nice, sunny day to enjoy the outside seating.
The parking is challenging in that area and the food of my entire party was good but cold. My party was late and I take full accountability for that but initially the hostess told me that when the majority of the party arrived we could be seated. When the 4th person arrived, they then said I have to wait for the 5th person of my party to arrive (total party of 6). They then said I would be moved to the waiting list if they weren't there by a particular time.
This was my second visit to Southern Hospitality for brunch. During both visits, the service was deplorable. There servers were disengaged, hurried and I had to remind them over every single thing because they were in a rush to leave the table for completely understanding what the table needed. At both visits, the food took a looooonnnngggg time to come out, so if something was left off of the initial order, I had to wait again for the extra item. During my last visit, the facility was not crowded at all, so I do not understand why the service was so poor. I chose this place because of the french toast. However, I will be sure to spread my negative experience with my sphere of influence.
Fried chicken Benedict was amazing! Good proration on everything!
Great bloody Mary. Great brunch spot. Sitting outside on one of the first nice spring days was a bonus.
Best brunch was amazing.. service was great too.. would definitely recommend
Great place! Love how you can choose to either be in the hustle and bustle of the downstairs bar area, or sit upstairs to dine in a little quieter of an atmosphere.
We met friends from out of town here. This was our first time, but it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was delicious and the mojito was one of the best I ever had (second only to the one I had in Puerto Rico). The cornbread is a winner as well!!! We were upstairs alone for most of our dinner and got to watch the basketball game with a comfortable noise level. They have an outdoor deck that will be great when it’s gets warmer. Our waitress was very attentive too. Very satisfied with this restaurant choice.
Very good food and drinks. The atmosphere and environment are perfect for small gatherings
We went for a Sunday brunch! Was a bit loud outside, but you got used to that quickly. The food was great!! Service was descent. They were good about substitutes for different side dishes.
Poor management and waiter tried sneaking in extra added gratuity. Management did not care when brought to their attention
Food was amazing, waiter was great ! I would definitely come back.
We ate on outside in the tent which was very nice. Brunch was very good. Good sized portions and well priced for what we ordered.
The food is very good here but the disappointing part about this restaurant is that you have to calculate how the check will be split if there's multiple people. Why should customers have to calculate how the check is split when it can be easily done on the register.
Colder mimosas not pre mixed quicker food delivery
The only drawback on this great experience was when a pigeon made its way into our seating area (hightop seating). I guess the canopy wasn’t lowered enough to stop this from happening. Other than that, everything was great. I would recommend coming earlier for speedier service.
The experience was outstanding from the meal to the bottomless mimosas.
