Food and drinks were delicious. The restaurant is very nice. Service personnel is very attentive.
I was not impressed with the food at all. Ribs were basically burnt, greens were overly salty but that was the only thing had season on it. Most of the side dishes were spicy including greens and corn so was hard finding my 1 year old something to eat besides French fries. The fried chicken wasn't soooo bad. The server is the only reason I didn't give a 1 star she was so pleasant. Overall not sure why it's called southern comfort because it was not at all southern food and I'm from Memphis, Tn.
Food and service was good overall. Ordered ribs and they were tough. Portions were small for the price compared to other restaurants in the area.
The Fried Green Tomato appetizer was delicious. Our entrees were good, but nothing spectacular. The service was excellent.
Service was absolutely horrible. Had reservations for 6:15. Was seating g by 6:20. Waiter never came to our table until 6:45. We had to ask some to take our order.
Food came out quickly. Ribs were way over cooked and not good. We put our dessert order in at 7:20 and still had not received our dessert by 7:45. We asked for the check and left. Many people standing about doing nothing. Manager checked on us and complained and still nothing was taken care of. Poorly run establishment. I will not visit again. My nine year old son kept referring to it as the horrible restaurant.
Took over an hour for food and it arrived burnt and cold
The food and service were fantastic. The restaurant followed Covid safety protocols, which made our experience all that more comfortable and enjoyable.
Service was slow - our waiter took at a minimum of 10-12 minutes to even come to our table and take our drink orders. Our entrees were dried out, overcooked and was not hot. The total dinner took 90 minutes for what should have been a 60-70 minute dinner. Very limited menu,
We had extremely high hopes for this experience but unfortunately was a bit disappointed.
We made reservations online prior to checking into the resort to avoid a wait considering we have 3 children ages from 7mo - 10. Apparently that was pointless because my family stood at the entrance for a good 10-15 minutes before being acknowledged.
The food was just “ok”. My husbands steak was cooked unevenly- leaving one side still mooing practically and our sons fries were cold upon reaching our table.
The server was a nice guy and seemed to know the menu.
We definitely plan to visit this resort again, but will likely skip out on SC.
Very nice place for a date night or family dinner
We loved everything about our visit to the Southern Comfort! Our server and food was amazing!! Just wished that they would’ve been opened for breakfast..
We were able to make a reservation only to arrive to find out it was not open for breakfast. Very disappointed!
It was a nice place and the food was excellent.
NYE Dinner was cold and very slow. We had to wait over an hour for food when it was half capacity.
They served old and rewarmed, canned Grand biscuits as a side. The pulled pork was obviously heated up and served because parts were cold. The waitress and staff were great. But the food and alcoholic drinks were horrible.
Delicious food and huge portions. Friendly staff from the front to the kitchen staff. Wonderful place to stumble upon to our visit to Gatlinburg. We were not staying at the resort, so parking is a bit difficult, but doable and well worth it considering our experience at the restaurant.
We decided to go to the new Southern Comfort Restaurant at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort instead of the Local Goat in Pigeon Forge. We ordered from the menu and struck up a conversation with couple at the next table. Upon their recommendation we added fried green tomatoes to our appetisers. What a great way to start. They were different from any fried green tomatoes we had ever had. They were superbly delicious. Our entrees that followed were just as good. We have been owners at the resort for 16 years and have eaten in the Smokehouse restaurants over the years. This Southern Comfort Restaurant is at least half a torso above those. You can tell by the food prep that the chef is particularly talented. Both presentation and taste were the best we have experienced in the county area. We ate at the Local Goat the next night and although excellent, the dining experience at Southern Comfort was better and much more convenient. I recommend making a reservation at the Southern Comfort along with your timeshare reservation, because as soon as word gets out about the quality of this eating experience, there won’t be any short lines. It’s that good.
Awesome food, beautiful decor and atmosphere! Will for sure be going back!!
Their fried chicken was the best around!
Excellent food and service, perhaps more than we could eat.
The restaurant was closed despite reporting they were open on multiple different websites/still accepting online reservations. We drove out of our way to eat here and the confusion upon our arrival was not greeted with hospitality or understanding.
The food was good, but the service was perhaps the slowest and most inattentive I’ve experienced.
My wife and I have four young children, so we look for restaurants that take reservations to avoid a long and painful wait. I made a breakfast reservation for 10am, and we arrived at the restaurant promptly. We checked in, but weren’t seated for 40 mins — despite there being at least a three open tables large enough for our party (without the closed for social distancing sign). After 40 mins I spoke to the hostess and she said we’d be seated shortly.
We were finally seated, and it was at one of the aforementioned empty tables (:$). After another 20 mins, a server came to take our order. She was apologetic of the situation, and managed to get us waters in about 5 mins. Our food came another 30 mins later, but the two bar drinks we ordered never showed up at all. Sitting at a restaurant with four children for two hours, just to get some pancakes and eggs is about as bad as it gets on vacation.
Other patrons at the restaurant were in a similar situation. A table behind us appeared to have been waiting for drinks for 45 minutes or so, and complained multiple times to the hostess. I think they got free desserts.
I understand the restaurant was short staffed on servers, but it was only at 20% capacity, at most. I can only attribute this experience to extremely poor management.
Came to dinner with my parents, wife, and 1.5 year old child. Made reservations, and had to wait 30 minutes after reservation to be seated. Once seated, it was a dirty table and had to wait or be cleaned. Waiter was new (no big deal) however he was miserable. Wrong drinks from bar x2 times, and correct drinks weren’t delivered until main meal was delivered. When we ordered appetizers, we requested extra dipping sauces and received NO sauces. Waiter disappeared and we had to request the host bring us the ticket and boxes. The manager came by the table and offered no compensation or apologies other than the waiter was new. We spent over 200 dollars at this establishment and until the get their business in order, I would highly suggest you spend money elsewhere. This experience ruined our whole day!
It took 38 minutes to get one drink. The server came back after 15 minutes of waiting and says the drink we ordered was unavailable... reordered... another 15 minutes go by. We ask where the drink is, told it’s not ready. Wait 5 more, it arrives. Food came out before our drinks. I understand it wasn’t the servers fault, but they were totally unapologetic and seemed too busy to care. Asked to speak to the manager, and they never came.. I had asked the hostess to speak to the manger and she was extremely apologetic and checked on us 3 times. She was great! Overall, Food was above average but with the very bad service, I don’t recommend.
Food was good! We had 3 people at our table get the Kentucky flight and said the pours were good and so was the whiskey. Also had 2 people get a glasses of wine which had generous pours. Overall had a good experience wait staff was great and had good Covid precautions.
Server was good...food was very good but could have been a little hotter.
It was amazing, and an amazing experience. Will have to come back soon.
