Very nice place but still early in the process for a restaurant and thus has a limited menu. The staff were amazing and look forward to the growth i see.

They just opened and the food is out of this world!!!! The maple fried chicken and fried green tomatoes were absolutely amazing! The fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever had and was topped with delicious crab meat. The space is absolutely beautiful and the staff is professional and friendly. We are very, very excited to have a high end, professional, classy, delicious southern restaurant in the South loop. Can’t wait to go back when it’s officially open.

Despite the lack of quality preparation on the food during the soft opening, the service was great. The front end Manager has done a great job with her team, very professional. The ambience is amazing. However, the bar needs a lot of work. The bar manager needs to be more attentive and understand customer service. The drinks, although presentation is great they lack quality. Unfortunately, we were told they didn’t have beer, yet there was beer, the server was about to serve it only to be told not to serve the beer. Once a customer sees it and you’re preparing to open the beer in front of the customer to take it away was unprofessional. They should’ve served the beer. It’s the first week, I pray they work through the kinks with the food temperature and the bar quality.

This was the first week the resturant was open and it is a limited menu but everything was delicious! I can't wait to go back and experience the entire menu! So happy this resturant is finally open in south loop! Great addition to the neighborhood!

Good potential, needs time to work out kinks. Slow service. Automatic 18% gratuity. Never received my stake frites done medium.

Great jumpstart Southern Chicago Happy to welcome you and your staff to the South Loop. We look forward to next week when you open up your entire menu. We will return to try your Soup., Salads, and turkey based Collard Greens. I like your wine selection also.

The food at Southern Chicago was exceptional and delicious; really anxious to come back to explore other dining options. We are going to give it a little time, however. Our server, Robin, was very personable and anxious to please. If the kitchen and bar work through some very significant issues, she will have a much easier time doing so. I'm not sure the restaurant was prepared to open to the general public. We were greeted with smiles and directed to our table; the restaurant is beautifully appointed and we commented on how nice it is to have a high-end restaurant in the South Loop. We had several issues with our meal, however. We waited over 45 minutes to get our first drink. Robin took our order and came back about 20 minutes later saying the drinks were being prepared; however, they were not able to prepare 3 of our drinks that were chosen from the Signature Cocktail menu. Of the 9 drinks listed on this menu, they only had ingredients for 2; so, we changed our selections and waited another 25 minutes for these drinks to be prepared and delivered. There were more options on the menu that were unavailable, than were available to order. Everyone at the table had to adjust menu choices. The most disturbing part of the meal was how the food was presented, staff from the kitchen would bring out one plate at a time. The sides were not served with the main course and most finished the first plate before the second plate arrived. No one at the table ate at the same time. Lastly, we ordered desserts and they were never delivered. Robin tried to assure us they were coming, but they never came. The restaurant has tremendous potential and I sincerely hope they can train the kitchen and bar to prepare and serve items in a timely manner. Also, the inventory should reflect menu choices. If this was a weekend, I don't know how they would have handled a full restaurant. We're pulling for you, please take these suggestions to heart. We need you in the South Loop!

An amazing space! The staff was exceptional—attentive, welcoming, and made the entire experience truly enjoyable. The food and drinks did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
