Had a great meal there with friends. Nice ambiance outside and the food was outstanding
Food is always good and the service is friendly and accommodating. Great neighborhood spot.
Hidden Gem in Fountain Oaks Shopping Center. Great food at incredible prices and they have taken care to follow all safety precautions and social distancing. Plus their fabulous patio is fabulous! Get out of the house and enjoy Southern Bistro in person!
Favorite spot !
It’s a place that we love to meet friends for dinner.
Nancy and Colman are always wonderful hosts. NEVER had anything but a great meal!
Southern Bistro is a neighborhood gem. My friends and I had the trout with different side all excellent! Delicious foods, excellent customer service and a friendly atmosphere. I always enjoy!
Food, service and ambience were all great! Great value also. Will definitely go again. Highly recommend
Always great food and friendly staff! We had the seafood platter and I had the clam chowder - all delish!
The drink and food selection on the menu was outstanding! We tried the deviled eggs, grouper and fried chicken. Fantastic flavor and unique preparation. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Friendly neighborhood restaurant, an old familiar.
The food is always delicious
Great dining experience with good southern food and great service.
Great food & service! Quite loud, however. Highly recommend Shawn for your server. Very nice & attentive.
A great place to bring friends and family for dinner.
Amazing as always!!!!
Nice neighborhood spot. Cozy and the salmon dish was very tasty and a healthy portion compared to some other restaurants. Enjoyed it!
Bad news: This newer place is still struggling with an identity that’s between one of Atlanta’s nicer restaurants (Horseradish Grill, Chops, Davio’s, etc.) and something like an Applebee’s or Chili’s.
Good news for the owners: The above would be easy to fix. First, stop the blaring “teeny bop top 40” music that plays in the dining room. Nice restaurants don’t do this. Second, keep the television in the bar area, but get rid of the ones in the dining room. Nice restaurants don’t have TV’s plastered in the dining room. Third, never tell customers who are seated during the last two hours of dinner hours that you “have run out of bread.” They make their bread onsite, and there’s no reason it can’t be prepared until the last customer is served. Bread is customarily brought out to every table.
The hard part of establishing a good restaurant has been done here: good food from a robust menu and excellent drinks from the bar that are all on par with Atlanta’s nicest restaurants. They just need to stop making their customers feel like they’re dining inside an Applebee’s.
Taking care of the big things keeps a new restaurant open for a few years. Taking care of the big things and the little things are what allow restaurants to flourish for many years.
If you are looking for a great place to have delicious food and take your pup along, look no further! Dogs are welcomed and pampered on the patio here ! Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious food . We had the fried green tomatoes and shrimp n grits! Our beagle had the grilled chicken . If you prefer not to dine with animals , no worries! You can enjoy your fabulous meal with humans only at a cozy table inside .
Good was great, but salad and entree hit the table at the same time so by the time we had our salads entree no longer hot.
Booked this place for Valentines Day dinner and had never been here before. The pictures looked like it maybe a charming little restaurant for a date night. We arrived and the staff was friendly and we were seated immediately. We were at the table for about three minutes and had time to take in the ambience of kids jumping around and the chaotic atmosphere. We simply got up and walked out and found a different place for our Valentines Day dinner.
This restaurant feels like a place you’d go for breakfast and a fast sit down lunch. The menus are in a plastic sleeve that is typical of a fast sit down restaurant. The place is chaotic like a Waffle House. The food on the tables next to us looked like upscale fast food on a plate instead of a tray. The location is in the Kroger grocery store parking lot. The interior lighting at dinner time was very bright and not cozy.
If you are going on a date night for dinner we suggest you look for a different place. If you want to bring the whole family out to dinner and not have anyone care that your kids are running around the table then this is a great place for you.
Fantastic dinner!!! Chef Justin NEVER disappoints!!! Staff was courteous and very attentive!!! We love this place!!!
We were seated in a side room which made for a nice quiet dining experience where conversation was easy. All three of us had the special, which was crab cakes, and they were great. Service was very good as well and I feel sure we’ll be going back again soon.
Alan. Our waiter is such a nice guy. Surely to put a smile on your face. His suggestion of the Brussels Sprouts were delicious. Great food always!.
We just love this place ! Great drinks, food and service.
The best pound cake around . Whew!!!
Nice place to have lunch whether it be business or personal. Food is good & our server was GREAT!!
The pork chop is world class!
Prime Rib on Saturday nights always a great choice.
Save Room for the Pound Cake with Caramel icing served warm
Toffee Crunch pie.
Kettle One Cape Cod.
Great food and service, as usual!
The food was very good, but the service lacked quite a bit. We waited a long time for our beer. The salad came but the soup did not. It was brought out after a short wait. The entrees were brought before the salad was finished. The salad was picked up and taken away without asking if we were done. The waiter never checked back with us. He brought the check without asking if we were interested in dessert.
Excellent meal as always at this restaurant
First visit.. went for a birthday dinner. Overall rating for me was a 4. The appetizer-Brussel Sprouts- were amazing. Definitely worth going back. The staff were very nice and accommodating.
Quick friendly service, including recommending another, better wine, than I had picked, not more $$. Noise level alittle hi. Trout alittle salty. Best to make a reservation.
The food was up to its usual delicious standard and we were graciously allowed to linger at our table for quite a while after we finished our meal. Important, because we were just meeting each other in person, after months of on-line contact. Felt like home! Except none of us had to cook and clean up after! Many thanks! Note to file: Parking at Fountain Oaks on Fridays during lunch can be a challenge. You may want to factor that in to your arrival time.
I have been there many times before but they have definitely upped their game in terms of the food! Everything tasted delicious!
Top-notch, delicious southern meal. Everything is seasoned to perfection and the chef is the real thing. Complimentary biscuits are insanely good.
Great southern dining experience! Loved the trout. Tasty and prepared just right
Awesome, tasty comfort food; served by friendly and outgoing wait staff who are eager to please, in a relaxed and fun setting
We started as fans of Nancy G's and Southern Bistro is a great upgrade. It's still a great place for a family dinner or a date night. The menu is great - everyone will find something they love.
The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is fabulous.
We're glad Southern Bistro is part of our neighborhood.
